- Ding ding, bring out your paintovers. It's time again to test our observation skills and see what tips we can give to fellow artists. Probably a bit too focused on just rendering and lighting in this one, but I'll circle back around to other aspects next time.

This is a great series
Yep
Sinix: I'm not an animal expert
Also Sinix: Draws gorgeous cat and dog from imagination
Seriously. When he first started manipulating the wolf I went from, “Okay, but that’s a really angular mouth. It will never work.” to, “That’s the best wolf drawing I have ever seen.” At the end. I have so. much. to learn.
Paintover piece : "exists"
Sinix: " I am just going to focus on the lights and darks"
if the values are off no image will look good regardless of the other attributes 🙂
but then, the piece: "gets 100000% better"
Also Sinix : *proceeds to fix everything else*
such a bummer. my art sucks so bad.😣, i wish someone would share their art knowledge and critique my art video. feels like my art will never improve even how hard i try.
Pero precisamente eso es importante, la ambientación que da y la historia que cuenta a través de las luces y sombras son importantes para el dibujo por lo antes mencionado, obviamente no se limita a corregir sólo las luces y sombras, sino también otros elementos.
Couldn't avoid thinking that it must be really difficult to be painting over other people's art for the sake of education, but still staying mindful of not hurting the feelings of the artists. I really commend you on your pedagogical skills in doing this.
edit: especially with an audience that might interpret your changes in any number of ways. Good job.
People aren't gonna get hurt by something they submitted themselves , especially this one where all of the submitted arts where from people who is ready to accept all the criticism they can take from a pro.
@@jorexcalamba410 I don't think that's necessarily true. I do agree that people who send in their art are prepared for criticism and thus more resilient to it, but that doesn't mean that Sinix would be inable to hurt their feelings if he completely bashed their art, right?
I think people hand in their pieces, trusting that Sinix will critcise them constructively and professionally. And I think those are still some noteworthy expectations to have to live up to.
@@jorexcalamba410 i think some people might send in their art thinking that maybe he wouldn’t be able to fix it too. so if he did end up fixing it then, you know the jist
@@FluffyCookeZz Yes that's true , resilient should've been a much more fitting word for it.
@@allie4182 I guess people like that has some ego problems that needs fixing instead of their art xD.
6:45 Yes please make a video about how to paint black and white objects!! For me personally it's always such a struggle to chose the light side for the black and the shadow side for the white ...
It's so weird how much I learn of these videos and it's not even my work getting critiqued!
You manage to transform these critiques into bite-size lessons that can applied to just about any work.
I really love it and I'm looking forward to the next video.
I hope I can afford spending a few dollars on your patreon real soon. You really deserve it, man :)
Thank you, appreciate that comment!
I am starting to do paint overs on my old art. It is shocking to me how much I have actually improved. The new versions make the old versions look like weird aliens LOL. I have to laugh at my old choices. Still so far to go.
I remember my art teacher in high school saying “if you don’t cringe at your old work then you haven’t improved” and I think about that all the time now 🤣
Thanks for painting over my big boy dwarf :D Osseck is his name and you did such a amazing job, thank you. i will try to improve on the clothing, and i love the changes to the eyes xD thanks :D
I love this series, it’s so educational.
to summarise: lighting is everything
6:42 I'd love to see such a video! It seems like an extremely interesting topic.
Damn that mummy picture sure did turn from paintover to draw this in your style type of thing :D
It actually feels good to spot the problems or the way an image can be improved before you say it yourself, it makes me feel like I do understand something in art/
edit:grammar
funny aint it i tried so hard and never got so,, in the end i never improve. its like doing weights and never gaining. its like i work twice as hard as anyone. but its for not. i need a pros judgement/critique on my art vid..
@@pogz1 can’t improve if u don’t study what other artists do best, eg shape designs or values which sinix and other has tons of videos on
Underrated, seriously this guy put so much effort with such good drawing talent, i watched this guy several times for art tips
Thanks Jesus.
@@sinixdesign oh shit hi man thanks for all the art tips. Helped my alot
This series actually changed how I view my own works and helped me to shape my own style of reviewing homeworks of my students (not painting). I couldn't express enough how thankful I am for your time, Sinix, so I would just say: thank you. Really wish you the best.
Great video. These paintovers are really well rendered, but I feel like you changed the feeling of the painting for a few of them. The mummy looked innocent at first, but after, it looks like he's a villain. I'm not sure if that was what you were aiming for or not, but it's something I noticed.
I love the way You choose colour and control values. Maybe a tutorial in the future on those things would be great
such a bummer. my art sucks so bad.😣, i wish someone would share their art knowledge and critique my art video. feels like my art will never improve even how hard i try.
I think one day ahmedaldoori won't need paintover anymore . Each episode he seems to be getting noticeably better!
wait wich one was Ahmed’s?
Jakob Pirzk lol none of them... I literally went back through the whole thing just to check but idk what this person is talking about
@Filthybaka it's a joke
4 years , 14 paint over pals and still the same shitty microphone i love it bro keep it up
this is so funny
HELPP
It's not that bad, heard way worse
BYE 💀💀💀
we've missed you so much papa sinix
This was so much more helpful for me than watching just a normal speedpaint tutorial. Being able to see the major difference with the changes you made really helped illustrate the techniques and principles applied.
Sinix this is possibly the best series on your channel. I can not express enough how much I (and probably many other fols) learn by watching you do these paint overs!
And we even hear your thought process!
22:10 This dog looks kinda happy now lmao
Yea, I liked the original dog expression more. The new one looked like devilish or how the Japanese try to make evil characters look as evil as possible. The old one just looked idk mindless and rabid. It was interesting.
@@Ianuarius I mean, I like the new version, just think dog's eyes don't match it's angry expression, they are too round or smth. Old one wasn't bad but kinda stiff imo.
What da dog doin
wake up babe, sinix posted
This is super helpful. I think I will paint over my old art to practice 🤗
My favorite Chanel drawing
Thank you so much for doing this series, very insightful! I especially love side by side paintovers; having the original around helps me very much to keep track of the changes to it :з

Really great video, pretty informative. Btw, love your voice !
engaging because this video is so cool and deserves some more attention!
holy shit thats alot of art 😭 we're blessed
i loooove over paintings high level like yours...
You’re technic is just unbelievable 🤭
for colorblinds, i really focus on where the colour is on the wheel of color, or whatever (to know what colour is that) , and work more on the values of the painting.
i LOVE these so much
I could watch an hour of this or longer
ugh i’m obsessed
Bru that's magic!
you mentioned rei17 and a possible tutorial on that type of color and i would be really interested in that!! i’ve been getting very interested in their style and i can’t for the life of me figure out how to get that type of color on my own without referencing their pieces lol
honey! new sinix video!
I really love your style
thank you for this content
The God of digital painting
my man
Let’s goooooooo☺️☺️☺️😝😝😝
This ones amazing
I did not get the notifcation (was at work) for this so Im a bit late lmao. OF COURSE IT WAS MY DRAWING THAT GOT CUT OUT 🥲🥲🥲
Yes, she's a mermaid-fish lady-water nymph that can breath air.... I dont have the lore complete yet.
But I didnt realize until two weeks ago why I struggled with the drawing, as you stated my colors were too saturated. I also decided at the last moment to add those lighting, instead of thinking about it in the early stages... which made things more saturated 😅
I really loved how you rendered the hair 🥺🥺🥺, I spent half the drawing redoing it because I struggle with hair that isn't coily/curly. And I appreciate the tips on the scales and the ears.
I liked the end result of the eyes. If it makes you feel better about the eyes, I kinda regret making her sclera black? 🧍🏾♀️
I gotta say i always like to learn from your video. :''3
