I learn a lot when i watch these videos, but forget those things when i sit down to paint.
BungyStudios i usually do the same so i started watching them while i paint lol
That's perfectly normal. It usually takes a few repetitions as well as acitvely thinking/doing smthg about/with a topic for it to actually stick. That being said it's a good idea to watch this video first in whatever context you like and then while you paint and try to apply the points to your work. If that's not possible because you are currently drawing something different you could write yourself a few notes about Sinix Advices and test yourself on them a few days later - trying to explain the point to somebody else is also a great way to strenghten knowledge about a subject as you don't just recognize the material but instead have to recall it!
Same xd
rewatch take notes draw along
what i do is do an artwork that is doomed to fail and apply everything i want to learn in there just to imprint it on my mind so i can only focus on what i want to learn instead of trying to focus on multiple aspects like I would on an actual serious artwork
oh god sinix is alive
ethan is keeping him hostage
Lol
dorrawings he probably has a family now
@@ran_436 Sinix deserved it, he make fun of Ethan's ugly d- i mean d-dog, Ethan's dog
SINIX LIVES
What do you mean "Don't worry there is just one more left" I could watch this for hours nonstop 😔
Agreed
I like how he acknowledges his own preferences when critiquing and doesn't let it sway his advice
19:48 "hairlines are always the spot to show you care, so get those saturated tones crammed up in there" LMAO sinix droppin bars
Lol bet Sinix is starting to feel like a rap god (rap god)
Really impressive way of critiquing, while also teaching to further improve a piece.
"Do paintover with your friends"
...I wish I had them
same :/ or at least artist friends
Can I be your friend?
bruh im down to be ur art friend sign me the fricc up

Ya join his public discord so you can be trolled by the regulars who used to laugh and would see who could make people leave the discord by being edgelords and then wonder why theres never any new people 🤷🤷🤷.
Paintovers are like an apprenticeship - you can learn a lot when someone more experienced pinpoints your errors. This saves an incredible amount of time looking for them on your own. People are often blind to their own mistakes.
“its underwater, gravity be damned, shapes ahoy”😂😂😂😩
"Stroke economy" makes me feel like "businessman of painting"
Sinix: "Gravity be damned, shapes Ahoy!"
Me: "Aye Aye cpt'n!"
whoa, i really want an in depth talk about that "banding" idea
So I recently just started coloring my drawings, but I didn't really know what to do so the colors of the drawings were really bland; I didn't like it and I kinda lost motivation. But when I saw this video on my recommendations, I now want to color my drawing again.
Thank you very much sir Sinix!
Same, coloring has been the least enjoyable part for me in art because of this!
i shook my head multiple times during this paintover and said "oh my god hes just too good"
thanks for the revelations and motivation!!
for real!
5:50 Is your sense of anatomy so good that there's a freaking subtle vein in the arm?! 😱 Is that a vein? I don't even know 😥
Good luck with your foot model aspirations, Sam.
Anytime Sinix says to go simple, I always think 'simple' then sinix carries on and I realize my definition of 'simple' is a lot simpler then his ^.^
I really want stop relying on lines and do a more painterly style.
same my brotha from another motha
I’m the opposite. I’m better at painting than I am with line work.
I love how alive you made the girl with eel hair wow. You are so knowledgeable of ways to fix paintings/drawings
"Don't worry, we're almost done and have just one painting left" ..... WORRY!? ... Nooo, it's almost over T__T XD
woah that second mermaid retouch was amazing
The last green girl is fantastic! amazing how such subtle changes bring the whole thing to life 🤩
I've learned more from this Paintover than pretty much 70% of art tutorials about the same principles. Thank you Sinix!
TBH I think this is Sinix's most helpful series, and that is really saying something because the others are deep pools of experience.
When you began to paint over the first piece, I immediately relaxed. There was so much tension in the original that I didn’t realize was there until it was being taken away.
Even though he’s not critiquing my own art, I still learn a lot from these ❤️
3:20 Umm..he's actually heading in the left direction
EDIT: omg those underwater paint-overs are the best
Yeah those mermaid ones were so good. I have no clue how to tackle dark lighting like that but this definitely makes me want to give it a go.
I dont think he means left or right he means its going in a good direction, the other meaning of the word right. Tho I could be wrong x
he was adding atmosphere to the piece to show a bit of life into it, cause it was kinda dull ngl
@@hc95 I know that lol
The characters right maybe idunno
Omg thank you so much for doing my submission 💕💞 I love your reworking and I will rewatch it a billion times
my absolute favorite art series, yes!!!!! good to see you again sinix
Sinix is kind of the guy who can turn everything into gold whatever he touches
The verbalized explanation of banding helps so much
Невероятно, как уже изначально шикарные работы становятся ещё эффектнее
first time watching these and i normally don't really care of videos like these, because a lot of artists that do them are really cruel and instead of providing critique, they often use it to make fun of beginning artists.
i'm glad i stayed, though! you were never once cruel to the artists or their pieces. you always made a mention of several things you did like about a piece, and then gave suggestions as well as immediate visual feedback on what you were referencing, which is really important when providing valuable critique--at least to people like me, who have a harder time processing auditory information, but highly value visual feedback.
i definitely am going to subscribe, and i'm already a huge fan. i think it's wonderful that you take your time to help other artists with valuable feedback--i look forward to watching more!
That second underwater one came out gorgeous.
Sinix I think you’re a great teacher, never rushing and definitely allowing creative freedom and never adding too much of your own personal taste. A subtle leader. :)
It's so nice to see another one of your videos in my notifications :D
Thank you so much!!!!!!!!! You have helped me big time, you made me see things that I wouldn’t thought of
I can see my artwork it in a different way now! Watching your videos is an eye opener to an infinity of new ideas and possibilities. Thank you!!🙏🤗
Dude, I'm eating up these series like they're caramel candy.
Just amazed by every paint over you make!
You just make on stroke and the draw seems directly more different and more fun to watch...
Just amazed!
I just watched Episode 10, 30 minutes ago and realised this is posted at the same time lmao. Lucky me
this is like listening to Bob Ross, weirdly calming and leaves me waiting for the glorious sound of a brush being whacked against an easel
Wow I love what you did with the first mermaid one. Especially with the fin, scales and background creatures
This is one of the most educational series I've seen. Like WOW. this is the way to make art go from good to expert with the tiny nuances that aren't really taught in yt tutorials.
Thanks so much for the upload Sinix! And thanks to your patrons. Always fun to see how you approach art.
This is my favorite series 💘💘 thank u!!
sinix feels very much like a modern Bob Ross. it's cool
These series are just awsome!
Amazing, your paint over advice is really solid in it's delivery. Really sticks to ya. Thanks!
watching your art gives chills........ very beautiful
Very cool Sinix. Always helpful.
YASSS. ive been waiting forever for this! :D
These original drawings always look good but then you finish the paint over and by golly do the changes make the paintings look EVEN better
I cannot begin to express how helpful these are
I love your videos so much!! so insightful every time
I love these types of videos!! Super helpful, especially the bit about banding.
Love your stuff, love your voice, thank you for the videos.
Oh sinix, incredible pearls of wisdom, thanks to share your knowledge. You inspire many of us to keep learning and improving. For me the "design" part its the most difficult area to improve.
Yes!! I’m so glad you uploaded another paint over pals!!
Sinix, I cannot stress enough how much of a LIFE SAVER YOU ARE! You are, and have been for almost all of my artistic journey, my absolute favourite art teacher. I adore every video that comes out and they're always really helpful! Thank you for making these videos that make my month :D
always helpful! thank you sinix 😊🌸
i've been learning so much from these thank you!
I really love your paint over series
it's amazing to learn with you!
these are the best series where I learn so much

I love this! This is the first paintover pals vid I've watched and I found it super educational. Thank you!
Epic! I waited so long for this, thanks for the overpaint dude
Great episode !! I've learned a lot !
Dude this video made me want to paint again! You make it look so wonderful
Oh myyy.. This is extremely informative. Thank you!
Everyone did such a good job on their original pieces! Even though having your adjustments made them even better you can tell they each put in their best effort into every stroke 😊👍💖
just discovered this series and I am so glad I did.
18:13 Lol what? "Gravity be damned, shapes ahoy, let's go"
these are incredibly helpful, ur an art god!! thank you so much for these!!
Tyvm for posting again
oh dear, I thought I'll never live to see the day of another episode of this :)
Sinix, thank you for the video! Very useful! The pictures are changing very cool! Magic? Experience!
I've been waiting for this!
Yay, I saw this notification on my phone had gone straight to my computer to watch this video. Thank you for being so smart when it comes to panting and then sharing your smarts with the world. Anyway, don't be afraid to be more confident. There are so many people that click on this video right away, and loved every second of it! :D
You are so inspiring. I'm little insecure about my artwork but since i catch up your videos i think i'm getting the way i want to go, especially with your paintovers Thank you!
These are all great paintings and sketches they just need that little something and that's really inspiring
sooooo glaaaad ive seen this...im in the uk and have been waiting fooorrreeveer for you to drop another great video. you have given me so much...thank you. peace.
wot a useful series, thank you so much for doing this sinix :)
Hooray! My favorite series in UA-cam xD
Literally just started painting again today. Thanks to the Most inspiring artist ever, and the sole Reason I got corel painter and a tablet. I couldn’t find a way to improve some of these, but once you did it made sense
The last one, just those subtle changes were so satisfying to watch.
The underwater ones tho!!! You're bringing them to another level! I've learned so much from these paintovers 😭❤️
This is the first of your paint over videos I've seen, and as an aspiring artist that still has A LOT to learn, I think it was really helpful and I am looking forward to watching the rest of them. Between you and Ethan I should be able to get all of the education I'm not getting in school haha, so thank you, and please keep up the great work (both your art and generously spreading your knowledge).
please keep doing this kind of vídeos, i learn a lot watching, and your advices are very useful ❤️
The last one is mind blowing 🤯 it show line between confident artist and confident junior artist
👏👏 increíble trabajo!!
sinix : don't worry we're almost done
me : how can i not worry i was having fun and now it's almost over
Nice to see you upload Sinix!
This is so good tbh!
the first mermaid one saw such a huge improvement! ur honestly incredible..
Seeing this video in my sub box made me inexplicably happy
wooo i love the last paintover! :0
Thank you for uploading!!!
i say the character with the staff should have a purpose with that hand!
maybe you could use it to convey some sort of context- like have the hand adjusting something to show that her walk is getting a little uncomfortable, or have the hand reaching for the staff to hint at some sort of danger or alarm, or maybe put the hand up to her goggles to provide some shade to a bright sun
having characters interact with the environment always adds life and animation to a standstill illustration
5#1t's GOLD!!! you have a new sub!
