That's perfectly normal. It usually takes a few repetitions as well as acitvely thinking/doing smthg about/with a topic for it to actually stick. That being said it's a good idea to watch this video first in whatever context you like and then while you paint and try to apply the points to your work. If that's not possible because you are currently drawing something different you could write yourself a few notes about Sinix Advices and test yourself on them a few days later - trying to explain the point to somebody else is also a great way to strenghten knowledge about a subject as you don't just recognize the material but instead have to recall it!

what i do is do an artwork that is doomed to fail and apply everything i want to learn in there just to imprint it on my mind so i can only focus on what i want to learn instead of trying to focus on multiple aspects like I would on an actual serious artwork

Paintovers are like an apprenticeship - you can learn a lot when someone more experienced pinpoints your errors. This saves an incredible amount of time looking for them on your own. People are often blind to their own mistakes.

first time watching these and i normally don't really care of videos like these, because a lot of artists that do them are really cruel and instead of providing critique, they often use it to make fun of beginning artists.
i'm glad i stayed, though! you were never once cruel to the artists or their pieces. you always made a mention of several things you did like about a piece, and then gave suggestions as well as immediate visual feedback on what you were referencing, which is really important when providing valuable critique--at least to people like me, who have a harder time processing auditory information, but highly value visual feedback.
i definitely am going to subscribe, and i'm already a huge fan. i think it's wonderful that you take your time to help other artists with valuable feedback--i look forward to watching more!

i say the character with the staff should have a purpose with that hand!
maybe you could use it to convey some sort of context- like have the hand adjusting something to show that her walk is getting a little uncomfortable, or have the hand reaching for the staff to hint at some sort of danger or alarm, or maybe put the hand up to her goggles to provide some shade to a bright sun
having characters interact with the environment always adds life and animation to a standstill illustration
