Thanks a million for this video. I laid some vinyl flooring in my son’s bathroom recently and I was dreading it because I’d never done it before. I made sure I had my iPad with me and followed your instructions step by step. I didn’t do a perfect job but I didn’t cock it up either! Thanks again 😊
Just finished laying down my first vinyl floor, thank you guys. Changed my blade twice, done all the mastic seal and the wife is happy. Again thank you, nice video to follow and easy to understand👍🏻
excellent! at last a video showing the actual cutting in those awkward corners and edges, and more importantly how to actually cut the vinyl with a proper knife blade, thanks for this!
Fantastic video guys, really describes the process well. Im going to be laying some sheet vinyl in our kitchen next month and had no idea where to start, not feeling worried any more after this video!
😊 hey that tutorial was amazing! I've always had to fit lino myself, and I've always messed up around the toilet pedestal!! Thanks for making this video,.. and making it fun to watch too! 😅❤
Beautiful job 👏👏 thank you guys. you made it look so easy and I know it's not 😁 I've learnt a lot from this video I always wondered what the hook blade was used for lol I've got to say you guys are class 👍
Best video I have seen ❤ explained very well . Thank you , I am going to do it same in my bathroom next week . I feel confident now , keep up a good work ❤
Wish I'd seen this before I did mine a while ago. It's come out ok a few of the cuts would have been much better if I'd known these tips. Also I didn't use a hook blade and slipped a couple of times. Good video!
EXCELLENT - next time could you show a tutorial on a very complex installation, incorporating toilet, pedestal hand basin, bidet and curved bath + architrave in viny all in one bathroom. Thanks.
Great video. Just finished installing Lino in the kitchen and followed all the advice. Looks great, not perfect but that’ll be down to me doing it for the first time. The hook knife was brilliant though didn’t find the blades very sharp. Which brand do you guys use?
I messaged them about this, they replied that they use Sweeney Todd blades, bought some off Amazon, it was for one of their carpet laying videos, but I also used them last week for kitchen vinyl flooring, much sharper than DIY store blades. Hope this helps.
Hi, why do you remove the tape before fitting? Just wondering as it is double sided. I have never done this before so just trying to understand every process. Thanks for this video, great video 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Great video, thank you! Quick question: if you’re doing the floor and also replacing the bath panel, is it better to do the bath panel first? Or take the panel off, lay the floor then fit the new panel on top?
Wow it doesn't take long when you're a pro. I had a brand new lino put in my bathroom 2 years ago by a pro and the glue that was on the floor left over from the lino floor tiles caused a reaction to the new lino and it started to get black areas showing through. 2 years later the entire lino is black😂 its time for a new lino that's why I'm here to see if I can fit it myself but i may end up using the old lino as a template it's easier and i wont make a mistake 😂
Hi guys. Great video, thank you. I’m in the process of laying Lino in the kitchen, but I’ve put the hardboard down rough side up. Is this going to be an issue do you think or still just follow your process with the spray adhesive and Antiplas tape?
@@bobcougar77 so at 11.55 you can see the back of the toilet where the outlet is. Our toilets are a mainly like this with the waste coming straight out the back. This would go into a plastic socket with rubber gasket that either carries straight through the wall into the soil stack or a 90 Deg straight down through the floor. We have never used wax over here (to my knowledge anyway) I’m not sure why it’s still used in the US when there are better alternatives. We can remove a toilet and replace it without fear of leaks (provided it’s not damaged of course)
@@djcwilso Thanks. It's always interesting how different systems develop in different regions. Here in the US wax rings were the only way toilets were installed for many decades. Siliconized rubbers seals have entered the market and are getting popular. No system is perfect but i can tell you I quite like the wax ring system. They are dirt cheap, forgiving to install and as long as you set your toilet properly, will never leak.
Great video! Thanks. I'm still not confident it will work in my case. I have a gully in the middle of the room with the floor dropping 1cm per meter towards it. Do you think there is enough plasticity in sheet vinyl to cope with a slanting floor?
Is the spray glue used a type of contact adhesive? I am putting some vinyl down tomorrow and struggling to find anything apart from contact adhesive spray.
Cracking video lads, I'll be doing my bathroom this weekend. Question though, when it comes to the ply for the sub floor what depth are we talking, does it matter? Is it just purely to make it flat so a 3.8mm would be fine?
Nice tutorial 🥰. Does the vinyl sheet come roll up like that or do you get it cut to a certain size? I want to know how much I need to buy for small kitchen and small bathroom.
I am pulling up vinyl flooring that was put down with glue. If I get the glue off and sand it, do I need to put down a layer of latex primer before doing what you guys did?
Best way to kill the old glue is with some baby powder but if the floor is uneven then I would screed it if it's a solid floor or board it if it's wood
Hi guys you always create fantastic videos very helpful informative could you tell me how you cut vinyl plank flooring self adhesive to fit round toilets pedestals ect cheers

I didn’t realize Lino flooring could be a diy. Your instructions were absolutely awesome. Thank you!
The hook blade was the eye opener for me. Thank you.
It's the best way to fit decent carpet too. Used to be a flooring contractor where time was money
Words can’t describe how thankful I am for you guys
👏🏼
Exactly how how to videos should be. Straight to the point and informative. Thank you 👍
I agree with all the positive comments. You are the "AMBASSADORS" for flooring. "You" made my living conditions better. Thank You!

Awesome! Thank you!

This is the best demo I’ve seen so far! I thought oh no they are adding the glue first! But the reason why totally made sense!!! Thank you 🤩🤩🤩
Thanks so much!

Thank you for showing how to do this without removing the toilet! Not everyone is skilled/has the strength to do all that.

Nope as long as it’s smooth 😊👌🏼
Thank you @@homeimprovements

Great video, dont have a hook blade just normal stanley blades so i need to be careful, is their any need for sealant around toilet/sink pedastels?
Hi guys. Great video, thank you. I’m in the process of laying Lino in the kitchen, but I’ve put the hardboard down rough side up. Is this going to be an issue do you think or still just follow your process with the spray adhesive and Antiplas tape?
That’s fine just prime and the tape will hold 😊😊😊

That's a terrible plan if it's a wax ring.

Dankeschön dank dir habe ich mein badezimmer mit pvc ganz alleine ausgelegt :D
Is the spray glue used a type of contact adhesive? I am putting some vinyl down tomorrow and struggling to find anything apart from contact adhesive spray.
You can but shouldn’t as it can migrate through we just use it as a primer for the double sided tape 😊
If im having new bath shower and toilet can vinyl be fitted right under these appliances would it be easier
Absolutely brilliant video lads and thank you. Vinyl seems to make so much sense for a bathroom. Do you think this is better than the other options ?
Cost vs quality I prefer tile or lvt but for the cost and ease this can be a great option 😊
brillitant guys! Thanks
A great tutorial. Thanks guys!
Glad you liked it!😊💪🏼
really good video guide. one question - is it usually better to lay the lino before the sink and toilet go on top?
Easier with the room empty but neither is better in our opinion 😊

Great vid. I would add a good close up shot of any tools you are using and advice on them at the beginning.
Thank you very much sir for saving me money 🙏
As I was about to ask the question U answered it 🤗👍😊 thanks for the video

Great job, i want Becoming more Professional to watching your videos.
Brilliant explanation lads!
Much appreciated!
The cutest accent ..adorable😇
How easy is this in going to give it a go a weekend in ensuite. Definitely gonna pick up some hook blades
Can I ask please- why use the spray adhesive if you’re using the double sided tape anyway?
Are some spray adhesives bad for vinyl?
The spray primes the floor ready for the tape 😊
