DJI have released their newest range of gimbals, the new Focus Pro Grip and the Focus Pro Hand Unit.
They now have giving filmmakers the chance to use manual focus cinema lenses with the lidar system without using the gimbal that has superior object tracking and auto focus capabilities.
First AC's will love the new Focus Pro Hand Unit with having the ability to link to the gimbal or hand grip unit to give the focus puller full control over the focus.
In my opinion the DJI RS 4 Pro has to be the best gimbal you can get right now.

Did you test with the FX6 top handle on?
All I need is a BUILT IN ACTIVE TRACK IN THE GIMBAL. Just throw in the User interface from the pocket 3 where you can tap to track people/items. This would open up so much creative shots and movements especially for solo operators. I dont want to screw around with a separate raveneye or lidar system.
💯 built in tracking will be the next true generational leap for DJI gimbals. As someone who has the RS3 Pro I have zero FOMO about upgrading to the 4. It’s nice yes but very incremental upgrades.
Even if they just made the gimbal screen bigger (or even a flip out screen) to essentially house the ronin/active track app on the gimbal would be huge
Unless they had, like, a built-in camera somewhere in the gimbal-which again, if they're able to figure something else out, that will be totally awesome-but yeah, I just got the RS3 Pro, so I'm with you there.
@@christianmbabazi9722 they don't need to have a built in camera into the gimbal even though that would be ideal. They should just allow the camera to connect directly to the gimbal. Maybe USB C to USB C or HDMI to Mini HDMI.
@@EbenPajanconi if done correctly yes that would be ideal and it would be a nice clean setup without having to spend another $500+ for anything else
BTW you can do this with Panasonic cameras. You can connect the camera directly and it’ll have active track without any external devices. The Lidar active track is 100000x better and more reliable though. Specifically because it’s independent from the lens itself so it doesn’t matter if the subject is at the edge of the frame, it’ll keep up.

Does the DJI RS4 Pro package comes with the Lidar system or is it seperate?
Has your RS4 Pro been able to consistently deliver power? I rented an FX30 for a shoot, and I seem to only be able to control, but not charge through the provided DJI cable. I'm wondering if its the cables or if its the actual port on the gimbal. Any thoughts?

Do you still have to physically balance your camera on the gimbal on their axis? Do you still have to again physically balance your gimbal when you change lenses ? I have the RS3 .
Yes with any gimbal you have to balance any time you change out the centre of gravity

Basically yes, but some have said the motors are smoother as well. Either way, disappointing generational upgrade if you aren't looking for LiDar and all the other accessories.
Agreed very disappointing. Zero new innovation. I have the RS2 Pro and this doesn't look like it will improve the workflow at all. I was hoping they would add a hdmi pass-thru so you can connect a monitor without the wire dangling and pulling.
agreed. I preordered this the second it was available to make sure I would get it early, then as I watched the video I was so disappointed by the upgrades that I cancelled the order immediately. its just a rs3

Definitely not worth it if you have rs3 really no change no larger payload or controllable iso and or aperture complete waste if you ask me really expected more
I understand that. I’m currently running on an RSC2 and was considering going up to the RS3 Pro. But looking at the price difference between the RS3 Pro and RS4 Pro now, almost seems like I may as well go with the newer one if that makes sense
The vertical mount would be useful if someone does a tonne of vertical shooting
This gimble clearly isn’t for RS3 users. It’s for RS2 and anyone who hasn’t jumped onto DJI products.
Nice one Jason Morris. Awesome . Well, I still have my RS 3 with me and still going on well. For the batteries, my RS 3 still takes me way much longer in my shoots. I will be left with about 3 bars still after my shooting. Becos I shoot with a plan. The RS4 is tempting but I don't practically do heavy payloads and lidar stuff. Hope in the future, DJI will come up with extinct differences in their products.. these minor differences doesn't truly weigh in much on me, coming from the RS 3. But for someone going into gimbals new, probably, that would do.
I’m so confused, I bought an RS4 Pro Combo and it did not come with the lidar system. Just a stupid video transmitter which isn’t even useful without a receiver

How many lenses can RS4 Pro lidar store? In the past, it could only store 3 lenses. Has the number increased? The new handle stores 15 manual lenses. I wonder if RS4 Pro also stores 15 manual lenses?
