This is an awesome breakdown of the DJI RS3 Mini, RS4, and RS4 Pro bro! Super helpful for anyone looking to choose the right gimbal. RS3 Mini (lightweight & compact) RS4 (good balance of portability & power) RS4 Pro (most powerful with LiDAR autofocus)
As someone who is just beginning to explore the world of gimbals, this video has helped me make some preliminary decisions already. Currently, my entire gimbal setup is a DJI Osmo Pocket 1. My partner has the DJI gimbal for phones, so I am at least familiar with the ecosystem.
I met up with a buddy who travels around in that bus. Very visually appealing especially when we were filming a sequence at night. Its not in this video but will be in an upcoming one.
Thank you for a good introduction to gimbals, this is what I've been looking for. Very clarifying and not just a talking head presentation (therefore not your own product) that many tube product reviewers indulge in.
Can any of these be used with a iPhone? I’m not ready for an expensive camera but would like a gimbal that is better than the Osmo. Or suggest a great iPhone gimbal? Thanks Jeven!
DJI RS3 Pro + Neewers iPhone cage (15promax) + Beastgrip’s DOF Adapter and some vintage vintage lenses is the route I’ve gone. I’ve Also explored MOZA Aircross 3 Gimbal and it works well.
I don't like my Rs3. So shaky no matter how much I balance and calibrate. The screen also died once and I've had it replaced so it could be that I just have a very faulty one. Have you found any issues with the RS4? Kind of miss my old Zhiyun crane... But now interested to try the rs4.
You video and product is super cool. I am only starting thinking buy a gimbal. Can you tell me which video I should watch from you? I am just basic tour video for food and sight seeing thanx
Great video! Do you know which one would be fitting better for a setup like Canon R5 and an EF lens like EF 24-70/2.8L II USM (means including the RF-EOS R adapter)? Would this be okay for RS4, or one would need RS4 Pro? Thanks a lot in advance.
Hi Jeven! Thanks for a great video! I really appreciate all of the work. Is there a huge difference betwween the RS4 and the RS4 Pro in terms of traveling? I already have the mini but wanted to upgrade to a bigger gimbal so I can use my FX3 with my 35-150mm. If I pack it in a suit case or my camera bag and just assemble on scene. Should I consider the non pro version?
If your switching form the 3 to the 4 it’s not gonna help improve your work there basically the same thing better to get good and familiarize with the one you have
I dont have a gimble now. So what would u recommend for my mirrorless 2kg setup ? Rs3 or rs4 ... I was waiting for todays launch and saw nothing special that makes rs4 significantly superior... Please rectify me if im mistaken. Im getting rs3 for a discounted price in the market so the difference is around 100 dollars
Spend now or spend later. The extra hot shoe mount on the RS4 will allow you to grow as a creator. Auto lock is also awesome, and teflon coating makes for easier balancing. Other than that... basically the same, but if you can afford to go 4, do it
Jeven, in general if my regular setup is a A7R5 or FX3 with a 35mm, 85mm and at the most a 70-200mm and later on putting focus motors and other accessories...I was thinking of just going with the RS4Pro?..will a "lighter" setup on the Pro make it more "jittery" in the sense that it might be too "light" for the Pro?..bc my rational was "I rather have and not need then need and not have" kind of future proofing myself if I do have heavier setups down the line and the Pro will be able to handle it...
@@JevenDovey It depends, you don't really need all the stuff that this new RS4 offers for that price. Lidar and stuff, you have AF lens, good AI AF on Sony, Phase detect, Lidar is obsolate, also Feiyu has AI tracking feature already in a way cheaper gimbal the Scopr mini 2. Probably those chinese brands are not that compatible with the big brand cameras as the RS is you cannot change all aspects of the shot with them, but a gimbal is for smooth footage in the first place and they are perfectly capable to produce that.
@@iammz81 LiDar is not obsolete. There is plenty of manual lenses that would benefit from having access to auto focus. I'm currently testing a bunch of vintage lenses for a different effect and its so nice to have autofocus
@@JevenDovey It's good to have and the Zhiyun Weebill has a focus system as well, that works as a charm with tracking focus and cheaper. Anyways maybe just fed up with my UA-cam feed all about the new RS4 and the game changing focus pro.. :D I understand that these videos are sponsored, but would be so refreshing to hear an opinion that this is overkill and not really needed cause a run and gun shooter will not use it most likely, and big productions are rather using big setups with huge cameras not small mirrorless bodies.
I'm struggling between the rs4 and rs4 pro. I have a zve1 and sony 14mm 1.8. I love the rs4 becuase of its low weight but my brain says "your a pro, and you need the pro"
Which gimbal works for the videos you're filming?
I am thinking of getting into the RS series, but I currently use the Osmo Mobile 6.
The brammen gimbal is really good tbh
I'm calling POCKET 3 PRO to replace the RS3 Mini :)
can I use an iPhone 15 Pro on this gimbal DJI RS4 PRO
@@stephanlewis you can. However, you'd be far better served by the OSMO Mobile 6.
A gimbal is a gimbal at this point, only thing that makes a difference now is what payload you need it to carry...

RS3 Mini (lightweight & compact)

Unbelievable, these videos with no punctuation, it's insane!
So insane

Very Informative! Haven't watched all of it yet, but looks good so far! 👍
Cheers much 😊
It's a shame no mini 4
Jeven, one of your hallmarks is the dreamscapes you film at. Wow! And love your classic VW Bus.
I met up with a buddy who travels around in that bus. Very visually appealing especially when we were filming a sequence at night. Its not in this video but will be in an upcoming one.
How can we buy that larger capacity battery that the rs4 pro use for the rs3 pro
Excellent video. It answered all the questions I had about the differences between the RS 4 and RS 4 Pro. Thanks for making this.
Is it possible to buy your Final Cut course rather than setting up monthly payments? Cheers
Your content is super reliable. Thanks for the info!

Do you need the focus motor using the gh6 and lumix 12-35 lens?
Whats the difference between this rs3 pro Vs rs4 pro
there is a bugged frame on 4:47
😯
There are two in the video actually
Right!
Hi, anybody knows whether the RS3 Mini will work with Canon 200D ?
Thank you for your video! The RS4 is a great gimbal, but I don't see any reason that would necessitate switching from the RS3.
Can any of these be used with a iPhone? I’m not ready for an expensive camera but would like a gimbal that is better than the Osmo. Or suggest a great iPhone gimbal? Thanks Jeven!
ah sorry thats bullshit, its just a holder to use the phone as a screen etc. my bad

@@artiest5 Thanks! I'll check all that out. Thanks for taking the time.
The OSMO 6 is an excellent gimbal. Any of the RS models would be IMHO an overkill.
Wonderful video❤❤❤
so the main difference between the rs4 and rs 4 pro is the load capacity since we can add the lidar autofocus with the grip if needed ?
Hello, which gimbal is connected to the Raveneye device.
rs3?
rs3pro?
rs4?
rs4pro?
thank you
I just got the 4 Pro but my battery is no where near that big. It is carbon fiber but the battery size is the same as the 4 and the RS2 Pro

What about DSLRs? What kind of gimbal will suit them?
hi can i connect to the rs4 the new lidar? or i it only working white rs3 pro and rs4 pro

I have a camcorder and was hoping someone can tell me what would be the best affordable gimbal if I can put one
Awesome! Thank You!!!!
If im using a 70-200, would the rs4 work or am i limited by the arm length?

I’m trying to figure out if the rs4 would work with my canon r6 and a canon ef 70-200 2.8f lens and a shinobi monitor
Hi there. Would be interested to know if RS4 has worked in your case as I am having similar setup. Thanks a lot in advance.
Why dont cameras come with OIS? Or they do..its just tha i dont know
Hello, Have you ever tried double-turn handles ?
I just hope the RS4 Mini will have the auto lock feature.
Hi @jeevendovery ,
Tilta control kit is compatible for the R4 gimbal?
Yes I used the tilta with the rs4 pro
@@JevenDovey Do you try tilta with RS4 control kit paring?

Why RS 4 is compared to RS 3 Mini and not RS 3? The same thing is on DJI website.
I guess the answer is coz they're almost identical.
Because this is the current lineup. Small, Medium, Large camera
New vertical mounting system alone is worth
It works super well
