    It works! I get cold calls all the time. I'll listen if they ask for permission. There are a few things I just don't need, those I do push off kindly.

    The only problem with sales is as soon as a technique works, and someone talks about it, it gets shared and the timer starts on when it won't work anymore. Sales techniques only work when nobody knows it's a thing

      Excellent point, I've been doing this and it's not working AT ALL.. Ig their shields are up now with this method too, don't get me wrong this method is great but it has run it's course and is saturated now

      This is silly. That means there's something inherently wrong with the tactic if it relies on volume.
      Literally telling someone it's a cold call is better than making up some random stories because both at heart are the same thing. So why not be honest with it and get the deals going.

    I changed my sequence to only cold calls with an almost similar approach.
    It does indeed work.

    Agree with the permission based opener piece - Ben Dennehy and Jason Bay live by it.
    One correction is that Steven Bartlett is 100% NOT a $100m CEO; he sold social chain for about £3.6m before it reached its $600m valuation and his podcast rakes in ~£1m per year.
    So another reason he'd take the call is that he's just not that busy

      Delivery and tonality is a huge nuance between various salesman/women. Just because you know the line, doesn't mean you can land it directly on target. Give a Navy Seal and an ordinary civilian the same gun in a shooting contest, I guarantee the outcome will be drastically different.

      You say it wouldn't work on you, but chances are it already has. Sales is happening all the time, everywhere, and at some stage in your life you will have purchased a product that you probably weren't thinking about at the time, but you ended up purchasing it after the tactics/techniques were complete. For example, walked past a window, saw something in the shop, went in and brought it. TV adverts are cold calling.... They've put an advert in front of you in hope you'll purchase their products. Maybe not today, but they plant the seed. This is no different

      When I see a comment like this it always makes me want to know what would be the proper way to go about it then. If the person on the other line did work for a smaller company that didn’t have the marketing size of a competitor but really did have a solution/product that was of value. Please share b/c others who maybe watch videos like these are probably in the field and this might be eye opening
