I really appreciate you man, a person with little to no sales experience implemented some game changing advice and got amazing results. I just landed my first job as an SDR after applying to my first ever company and going through 4 rounds of interviews thanks largely to this video! About a month or so ago I didn't even know what tech sales was let alone an SDR position... A HUGE thank you to you Matt for putting out this amazing content!
@@bundubashing 1st round was a brief chat with the recruiter about my background and why I was looking to get into tech sales at this stage of my career. 2nd round was with my team manager which was similar to the first but more in depth. They wanted to know more about me as a person. What I thought my strengths and weaknesses were. 3rd round was the most difficult, I had to create a presentation on 3 potential companies that I had identified as ICPs and why. Then draft 2 emails I would send to 2 different personas and explain why I would structure them that way. I also had to choose 3 common objectives that we face as SDRs and how I would overcome them. Then the last past of the challenge was a cold call role play. The 4th and final interview was with the head of sales for my region. I felt that if I got through the challenge this stage was more about the company understanding who their newest employee was going to be basically. The process overall was intense but I was committed to applying myself to make a good impression. Hope this answers your question.

It's funny hearing you talk about jobs having 75 applicants, the market in Canada is so rough right now that BDR jobs will have 300 applicants in a few days. If it's an easy apply job on LinkedIn, some have 1000 over a week, it's horrible
How do you sound confident but not over baring? I feel like when I speak to someone I’m trying to control the conversation with that I come off as being an ass when really I’m just trying to keep a calm and composed tone ?
it doesn't have to be perfect...come up with a cold call script and cold email framework for the hiring manager to review...even without experience, this isn't difficult...there are thousands of videos on UA-cam that can help you come up with this
i think if you take this approach of constantly contacting people, they gonna think ur a spammer, annoying and maybe even come across as desperate and lack of confidence
how much contacting people directly show a lack of confidence? this is how you land sales roles...heck everyone should be doing this to get the job they want. The alternative is applying online which is a black hole.
