Absolutely mind blown that my two favourite UA-cam channels have done a collab together despite being from two very different ends of the spectrum! This is bloody awesome.
As a car audio guy and pro, I am very happy to see someone in a video actually pay attention to the sound system and try to do it properly! You even made brackets and used foam rings around the speakers, well done, it sounds like you even knew what you were talking about, refreshing! Love how you built in the sub into the car for a clean look and fit too.
RIGHT ! This car looks like a total ricer, but underneath it trully is tuned for performance AND sound. Very rare combo, and even more rare the fact that it's done professionaly with quality parts.
The only thing i didnt really care for was the cable management and the mile long velcroed up RCA cables. For computer guys that go on about proper cable management i thought they'd at least buy the proper length wires, but it looks like they just took from a kit and had way too much wire. It takes away the aesthetics of an otherwise decent looking amp rack.

@StewPedassle the screwdriver is overengineered because linus has such exacting demands and Kyle went to town on it. You don't offer a no question warranty on a product typically if you are not confident in the engineering quality.

I own an 09 Civic. It's been in my family since 2010, it was my younger sister's first car. I bought it in 2020, and had it repainted, also replaced the suspension. It's still stock, 235k on the motor and transmission, still running well. Last year, my partner drove it to work, and fell asleep at the wheel on the way home. She swiped a guard rail, which gouged the passenger side from front to back. I was glad that she was fine, but heartbroken about the car. I knew that repair would cost more than the value of the car. I promised my sister that I would treasure that old car, and I did. I decided that it was worth it to me to have it repaired. 3k later and it looks like nothing happened. I would love to have a K series motor put into my Civic, hopefully something that will happen in the future. What a great video! Please do more like it!
Ya seat upgrades and that's the final piece. Basically just a personal commodity but now that your civic is like track ready I think those will be just the perfect finish. Ltt Embroidered racing seats would be so sick I think we can all agree!

13:57 "It can do 2nd order impulse filtering. What that means, I don't know." - Alex. Spoken like a true engineer.
That sentence sums up every engineer I've ever met, and they're always beyond excited about it, even if they have no clue what it does!
I don't think mech engineering has signals & systems then lol lol
Just loved how he said it with such excitement and just matter of fact.
@@leo1funEverything's a spring-mass-damper in our world, so yes, lots of second order behaviour.
@@SentientTeapot2444 that is true. One of the things I've never been able to do as an electronics engineer is to properly understand when control theory tried to teach me that every electrical circuit could be seen as a mechanical circuit
That engine was always supposed to go in that car. Cant convince me otherwise
required austrailian backwards engineering to fit though
K series is always king my friend
Yup, pretty sure the EM2 in Indonesia or somewhere else in Asia had a K20 version, but I haven't heard anything about it other than the Wikipedia section under the 7th gen Civic.
0:07 I think the ass paint was also meant for it.
K series is GOATED! My 05 accord had a K24A4 aka the best K motor iteration Honda ever made!
As a car dude that doesent honestly live in the tech space but watches ltt, the similarities between building a car and building a computer are super similar and thats kinda what drew me into it in the first place. The problems you have to solve on a car are often incredibly similar to problems you need to solve on a computer.
The collab i never thought i needed. Been an MCM fan for over a decade. Great to see them and y'all kill it as always!!
Seeing MCM go from modding a car on a driveway to its own garage and warehouse and seeing LTT going from a single house to a warehouse of staff, both channels have become staples of youtube and beyond
proud to say i have watched both for years and will keep doing so for years to come
agreed! im a car guy from my childhood in the 80s, and have been in the tech space since my military career in the 90s. this crossover is just EPIC
10:28 Brian's overnight parts from Japan.
Also, as a Brit it brings a tear to my eye to see our Canadian and Australian cousins playing so nicely together.
haha, as an "american", love this comment.
As someone who's learned English as a 2nd language, I'm happy to learn that even native English speakers don't understand Australian accent.
Australian is usually fine. Scottish on the other hand…
wtf this is hilarious are bosting about the colonization 😂😂😂 nice one buddy made me laugh soo hard 😂
I thought this was gonna be a bolt on or mild Ebay turbo build. As soon I saw Dave: OH, this is a BUILD, BUILD!!!!!!
@@TheBakedPotato8 the haltech alone is worth more than the whole car 😭
Absolutely mind blown that my two favourite UA-cam channels have done a collab together despite being from two very different ends of the spectrum! This is bloody awesome.
As a car audio guy and pro, I am very happy to see someone in a video actually pay attention to the sound system and try to do it properly! You even made brackets and used foam rings around the speakers, well done, it sounds like you even knew what you were talking about, refreshing! Love how you built in the sub into the car for a clean look and fit too.
Not to mention active setup and no need for rear speakers!! I miss my active setup....WORLD of difference
8 hours since they posted and yours is the the first audio head comment I’ve seen 🫡
You're welcome. 😎
I absolutely love how this feels like a MCM episode, but featuring Linus and Alex - it's weird not hearing Moog's voiceovers during the music sections haha. I'm just sooo sad this isn't an entire series; love this collab.
This has to be a series.
@@BBROPHOTO I wouldn’t be shocked if some of the ltt crew goes down to Aus and builds some insane computer system for them
@@CloakAndDaggerPCAn Australian style tech van might be cool, and unlike Linus's van it doesn't even have to be practical lmao.
@ or do like a full studio upgrade for their music and video editing/creation stuff! But with a mile of rgb lol
@@CloakAndDaggerPC argb lift, argb tool box, argb pneumatic tools.
I love the recent focus on reusing renovating older tech and stuff! Keep ’em comin!!! 🎉
Same here, really does feel fresh with every iteration they put out
This is the best collab in ages, definitely needed doing. Absolutely love both LTT and MCM, but both in one video.....perfection.
This was actually awesome! As a technician, car guy and a tech enthusiast, I did'nt know I needed this content in my life but I'm glad it happened.
Tonight on Linus Gear
Alex Gets into the boot (0:43)
Linus gets immediately corrected on the pronuciation of Aluminium (6:10)
And Jeremy becomes Australian (9:40)
The spec of your genious...
I immediately heard the theme song while reading this in Clarkson's voice
Laughed way too hard at this xD
Aluminum is as correct as aluminium
4:38
I love both. MCM & LTT is the coolest crossover I've ever witnessed.
Always been a HUGE fan of MCM - so happy to see Marty up here working with Linus. Canada loves you Marty (and Moog)!
@32:10 Brother is now officially a car guy. The delayed elation as he processes what just happened is priceless. Also the underglow activating with VTEC is HILARIOUS.
My favourite part of the video lol, I hope to see more of plouffe and his civic
Ok the bit about using the screwdriver as part of the car? Brilliant, mates!
Came to say this.
Also, I was shocked when they said it would be operable too. I doubt that they didn't think about longevity when designing the shifter, so it speaks volumes to the screedriver's quality that it should handle that amount of repeated lateral force and still operate.
@StewPedassle the screwdriver is overengineered because linus has such exacting demands and Kyle went to town on it. You don't offer a no question warranty on a product typically if you are not confident in the engineering quality.
They do use ltt screwdriver aluminum edition on Mighty cars mods video
@@Jon-Sen it had 3 different screw drivers in it, first was my personal one then Alex’s metal one then we settled on the retro one as it matched the car the best
Mighty Car Mods was the very first youtube channel i Subbed to in my life back in 2010 when they were working out of a small garage in a main road.
LTT, this collaboration just blew my mind and brought a tear to my eye. thank you.
This collab was fantastic. Love seeing people share passions with others and love seeing people respect the overlap between tech guys and car guys (my experience working at a tech store, a lot of car guys are tech guys too)
This had my inner child smile from ear to ear for the whole video. The level of wholesomeness is off the charts!
I'm not a car guy by choice but more by necessity. Being poor and needing your car fixed will make you try some silly things. Dude is spot on about tech people and car people being very much part of the same wheel house. I enjoy working on cars and computers as long as I'm not forced to work on either under stressful conditions.
As others have expressed, I've also been a long time fan of LTT, MCM, and VTEC Academy. What a fun collab. Hope you've also invested in a good security system.
This is the collaboration I always wanted. I’ve a heavy DIYer, build PCs, k swapping my Miata rn and doing home renovations. Marty is right the type of people that love modding, DIY and overclocking we all cut from the same cloth
please post the miata
4:45 damn good point. I was a computer guy before a car guy. But learning how to build computers really helps the mindset of working on cars
We need some sort of deep dive on ECU tech, close-loop EFI and all that good stuff are awesome!
Haltech is extensively documented, especially in the Honda and LS community.
Haltech covers all this in videos about the R and S series ecus, and haltech is a very simple ecu in the world of EFI.
What a fantastic crossover of my favourite channels! This was such a blast and feel good video on my birthday. Cheers to everyone making it happen and having fun while doing it.
"If it leaks oil, it has oil" - Shitbox 13:20. As an IT professional I've watched LTT for years. As someone who dailies his shitbox Civic, I've watch MCC and VTEC Academy for years. This is a collab I didn't know I needed, but the world is a better place for it.
I now need a LTT screwdriver handle for my shifter. I don't have a fancy K series to do this with. Just a stock D series...for now.
years ago, i actually engine swapped a 1.6 mitsubishi lancer for a 4G69 2.4 MIVEC (Mitsubishi brand V-tec) and also wired bunch of stupid LED lights that came on when the mivec kicked in. this was long before RGB was a thing. So i really appreciate that little touch.
LTT and Mighty Car Mods are two channels that I've followed since they started out out youtube, it's amazing to see this collab after how much both channels grew .
from Garage Stereo upgrade job to flying to Canada to upgrade a Civic.
Best Collab.
I have been watching both LTT and Mighty Car Mods for Yeaaaars, and I genuinely can't describe how happy I am with this collab, oh and congrats, Plouf
Best LTT video of the year for sure, maybe the best of the last several years. This was so sick.
This was SICK! A little miffed there wasn’t any camera shots of the new digital dashboard I wanted to see how that looked!
Search for Haltech Dash. MCM and Skid Factory have plenty of videos with them.
There are some shots on the longer cut video on the MCM channel.
@dearestdennis just search "haltech ic9" or "haltech ic7".
That's their 9 inch and 7 inch models
Actually might be one of the best videos y'all have EVER done. I'm not a car guy but the passion is infectious and the vibes on this video are just so dang good. 10/10!!!!!!
In response to being asked he added up the total cost for all the modifications: "I have no idea. You're not really supposed to think about that stuff when you do cars."
&
"I don't actually know what scope means so I am just like yeah we're just gonna do everything"
These are two of the most accurate quotes about car modifications I have ever heard, and not only is he absolutely correct, but he said it with an accent, so it just sounds even better
omg, all these mods are FIRE. So jealous! The enigine and gearbox. The audio. The brakes. The exhaust. The SPOILER. Holy heck! Big ups to everyone involved and Ridge!
as an Aussie thats loved Mighty car mods and linus for years and years. This is fantastic.
I second that.
@8:55 "she had the misfortune of owning a rotary" sad but funny
it backfires.
never in my life would have think about this. 2 of my favorite channels together!!!
Mighty Car Mods!! I still remember watching the original "Turbos and Temples" movie when it came out, and i still watch EVERY new video. The production value and music are INCREDIBLE!🤘
I had an Ek9 civic and while the B16B engine was a legend, the plan was always to get a k20, I managed a decent exhaust, coilovers and a fancy gear knob (wasnt an LTT screwdiver) you guys smashed this out in no time, hot damn, good job! great video!
I still want to understand the history of car ecus, whether they're an asic, x86, arm risc, powerpc, ti, and so on and so fourth, because I feel that it would be more interesting than most people think
@@christopherlanger3159 haltech have a few videos on there channel of there history and how they are made, might find some answers there.
I believe most are simpler than that. A bunch of LUTs basically.
I work at Ford we use an arm64 based ECU. But yeah they can be 86 but not asic. Look up auto sar for a c++ framework
You'd love FuelTech, they are a Brazilian company where insane tariffs mean ppl can only afford stuff made in country and they have been developing some of the best EFI kit since the beginning
@@Onewheelordeal that’s rad
Bro the Car Community it`s just as amazing as the gamming community, just a bunch of grow men with big toys and lots of fun and nice people, this video is amazing.
Cletus McFarland x LTT colab would go crazy
Cletus x MCM though...
This was the absolute perfect LTT video for me , tech , car customization, Honda , couldn't have tailored a more perfect video for me
I own an 09 Civic.
It will happen, I believe in it and you!
@@Robb03 That's nice of you to say, thank you!
I grew up watching LTT and MCM, this is a dream come true, i had a huge smile on my face throughout the video
Ya seat upgrades and that's the final piece. Basically just a personal commodity but now that your civic is like track ready I think those will be just the perfect finish.
Ltt Embroidered racing seats would be so sick I think we can all agree!
31:31 the laughter of a happy man
Gotta love it fr
Never in a million years did I think I would see Vtec Academys Brian and Marty from MCM do a collab with LTT.
My 3 favourite channels kswapping a civic lmao, my heart is melting
This is by far the greatest youtube crossover I have ever seen. This 40 year old geek could not be happier to see MCM and LTT together. Now lets get AMMO NYC over to clean it up and the trifecta is complete.
THIS NEEDS THE METAL SCREWDRIVER!!
With Canadian winter you'd end up with your hand stuck to it
They tested it, you can see it on the MCM side of the story for a few seconds.
@@Barlie_ lol
8:15 The screwdriver was the best part of the upgrade!
Only till you can't find it after doing a repair and thus can't drive your car anymore xD
Since it appears to be slightly adapted it can't even be easily replaced lol
@@gamin9wizard945 except I'm pretty sure plouff has more ltt screwdriver
He can just use that
The best LTT video I've watched. I was grinning ear to ear the entire time!
Im not a car guy, but I really enjoyed this video with its explanations on what was being done and why. Good way to branch out a bit, boys, just dont turn all the projects into car stuff! Good Job to MightyCarMods and VTEC Academy, too!
best colab ever !! 2 fav people in same place
Nick's response to hitting VTEC is so accurate lol. You can't knock these slow NA Honda builds till you've tried it.
The LTT screwdriver as a shift knob is totally awesome.
Also if you're gonna watch Mighty cars mods video they use the ltt screwdriver aluminum edition one
@ I haven’t watched that one yet!
WOW!! A LTT X MCM video, never thought I would have seen this day, been following both channels for years!!
I've been loving the car content lately. Can't wait for part 2 where they turbo it...
27:30 Linus' eyes just pop out from his face when he realises how much time and money went into this
"Porshe owner left SPEECHLESS when he saw this CIVIC!"
Good thing it is sponsored 😂
aaaaaaah .....@ min 27:46 you can see 2 Hondas with their hoods/ bonnets open, in the wild.
lmao
That frame is hilarious. Great catch
wow, Linus's face is priceless as he compares each piece of new equipment and how it is over the cost of the car !!! What a great, over-the-top, and hilarious video !!!! Thank You !!!!
Plouffie. Please upgrade the seat. It's worth it. You have a track weapon now. Lets go!!!
I vote rsx seats.
