This was the best begonia propagation tutorial I have seen so far. You did an amazing job preparing it and having the "results" ready to be shown! Thank you!
Excellent begonia propogation video. You explained it so well. Thank you for showing exactly where to cut & the time lapse new growths. Enjoyed the one leaf separate tray way you showed. Especially enjoyed & surprised to see the one leaf in the pot & how many new shoots you got. Really cool to see how well it worked! Explaining the main veins very helpful to understand how begonias propagate. Love your sunny disposition as well. Thank you so much🥀🌷🥀🦋🐝
So nice to be appreciated..thanks Bridgette! And I wish you success in your propagation...just need to be patient and i don't get 100% success either.🤗🧡❤️💚
Amazing job Irene! The baby begonias are so cute. I don’t have any begonias in my collection yet but I’m looking forward to it, their foliage is stunning. Thank you! 🌱🌿💕
Yes they are so amazing the foliage! Some are more fussy than others...I suggest cane begonias to start with...generally more hardy. Rex begonias I have killed lots🙈 Good luck!
Thank you so much hun! Thank you for sharing your secrets with millions of people we really appreciated keep up the great work! And thank you so much for so much information on how to do this this is exactly what I've been looking for!
Really helpful! I have begonias and one fell off my deck. Broken stems and loose leaves. So will experiment and use your methods. Love the use of left over plastic containers I know you love begonias! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much for this great information! I was recently given some stem cuttings of stem Begonias. Luckily, I have enough stems to try different ways propagating!
So enjoy your show. I was in a panic as I accidentally took off the beautiful top of my elegant, elephant ear. Feeling so much better now, knowing I can salvage a great deal here. 👍Well done, my dear.
Thank you so much Irene, I really really enjoyed watching you show us all how you propagate the Begonia Rex plants. I’m very very impressed by your channel and expertise. I’ve Subscribed and given you a thumbs up too
Fantastic clear demonstration. Begonias are one of my favourite plants. I've had a Tiger Paws for 40 years which I've managed to keep alive. I've not had much success with other begonias and have never succeeded with leaf cuttings. I will try again.
Thank you do much for your video. I've just gotten into the world of houseplants. For me the hardest thing is patience. I feel like I would want too take cuttlings or nurture and water them all the time😂. I had a very hard time too find easy to understand info about leaf cuttlings particulary begonias in my native language. And your video was super hands on and easy too follow.
Thanks so much for your tutorial very much appreciated. This plant called the Angel Wing Begonia was gifted to me by my brother who passed away during Covid. Since 2019 I have been trying to keep this plant alive. There was always plenty of leaves and flowers too which bloom now and then. Recently I had to cut the stem, put them in water and I'm so happy to see that tiny leaves have sprouted. But there are no roots. Please can you tell me how do I now put them in soil? Appreciate your help and guidance. Thanks, Nancy
They are all cute . With their leaves it is an eye catching plants. I have 7pots now and different varieties. However 1pot was drowned since itbis rainy in our place before for quite long.
I have 4 begonia propagations - 2 stem props directly in soil and 2 leaf cuttings. The leaf cuttings I did incorrectly. The stem props are growing nicely. Thank you.
so for the leaf cuttings, putting them in the to go containers, do you have to keep that in a certain area in the home? under a grow light or certain temps?
Thank you so much for this video. I like that you don't use any specilised equipment. A quick question, what is the technique for transplanting from the tray to the pot? Thank you again.
Thanks! No technique really....just lift gently eith minimal disturbance to the root...have the original potting media around it and then place on top of a pot filled with begonia mic of your choice
You are a good teacher. Your instructions are clear and the visuals perfect. I think begonias are stunningly beautiful but I'm not sure I am good at taking care of them. Maybe I can try and propagate one of the leaves of the small plant I have left. I'm thinking about it...
Thank you for sharing your tips. I am currently trying to root a Begonia in water. It hasn't progressed any. Maybe I should try putting it directly in dirt.
Wow a new discovery for me. I just have my new begonias that us given by my Auntie. Thanks for sharing you idea about begonias this will help me a lot for my begonias. Continue making videos and sharing your knowledge about caring plants. Watching from Philippines
Ive watched your videos on tropical garden. Its just so lovely. Now, why did I not think of that instead of going for flower garden and cacti which are harder to maintain.
Thank you for this informative video!! I just had one question as I have been reading that using rooting hormone with water propagation is not recommended (some say it wipes off once it enters the water, it makes the water dirty, and others simply say to avoid it), but I saw that you did it for one of the cane begonias. Have you had any issues with using rooting hormone with water propagation?
Do the cuttings in plastic containers need to be placed in indirect light or shade? Seems they would need light for photosynthesis to aid in rooting, but this is new to me.
Very clear, easy and practical. I just searched content on "Pafcal" chips but I find only item descriptions from product catalogs. Can you talk about that material in your next video? Is it a polymer? Rockwool? Can it serve as potting medium?
Thanks! Pafcal I use it a lot for rooting and also I've mixed it in with pumice, leca, perlite for some aroids. I would not use it 100%. I think it is made from some PU and other organic material (I heard including beer hop??). It is the result of R&D of a beer company Suntory...who makes Asahi :). Try google 'pafcal' and 'suntory'
This was the best begonia propagation tutorial I have seen so far. You did an amazing job preparing it and having the "results" ready to be shown! Thank you!
Wow, am so honoured to hear this - thank you!
Amazing ways of propagation of begonias, thanks a lot
Such a delightful teacher!! Your enthusiasm for creating new plants is obvious! Can’t wait to try some myself!!

I love your tutorial of the begonias, so easy to understand, thank you so much for sharing!
You are so welcome!
crazy that someone discovered you can do this!! so excited, just got my first begonia (i’ve had a hard time finding any) and i’m gonna prop
🤗❤️🍀 Diff begonias prop differently! Cane begonias mostly prop in water better.
Best video ever on propagating begonias!!!!
I really love your channel. I'm starting to collect begonias and Im watching this video to grow more of what I have. God bless you Irene 🙏❤️🙏❤️
Thanks Israel! Propagating is much more rewarding than buying but need patience!

I know you love begonias! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
They are really rewarding to propagate. Enjoy the journey!
Loved your video. So thorough and complete. Excellent job! This is exactly what I needed to know.
EXCELLENT video. I'm going to try the leaf cutting method as soon as collect the supplies. Thank you for taking the time to do this video
I’m so glad this is the first video that popped up!! Looks like I have a project ahead of me!

Wow your a genius about propagating a Begonia super super love it❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so very much for your encouraging words!🥰
This is a really informative video - very clear directions for both stem and leaf begonia propagating. Thankyou
Can I say I just love you! Your personality is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your tips. 💚🌱
She is an angel like a begonia for sharing this! Thank you!
Excellent tutorial!!! Slow step by step presentation, supported by source usage and preparation and successful results.
Thank you so much for this great information! I was recently given some stem cuttings of stem Begonias. Luckily, I have enough stems to try different ways propagating!
You are so dang precious! I love all of your videos! You're so smart and your taste is impeccable!
Really great tutorial. Thank you. My question is, at what stage do you remove and then replant the small begonias?
I don't move props until it has given me a leaf or two. Plants will always prioritize roots over foliage, so it will essentially let you know.
Let's say when the new leafs are about the size of my big toe😁
So enjoy your show.
I was in a panic as I accidentally took off the beautiful top of my elegant, elephant ear. Feeling so much better now, knowing I can salvage a great deal here. 👍Well done, my dear.
Ah...I don't think you can propagate those with leaves dear!!
Lovely informative video. Thank you for taking the time to produce.
Thank you so much for the video. Really encouraging. Have not tried planting begonias or propogating them.
I knew just by the name of your site that it would be good and informative-and it was! Thank you.

I'm interested in how to get the Japanese medium for your propagation. Loved your lesson on propagating Begonia
I think you are referring to the last prop and its called Pafcal...it can be purchased from amazon
Love your channel! Thanks for this as I’m kind of new to begonia.
This was so helpful, thank you, I'm going to start propagating some of my begonias this weekend

Oooh, Ciao Maria! I had such happy memories in Italy and so glad to have the pleasure of visiting Milan before this crazy Covid came!
Thank you Irene, I always learn from your videos.
Thanks for the knowledge. 1 question though how often do you water the cuttings.
Thank you so much for this video. I like that you don't use any specilised equipment. A quick question, what is the technique for transplanting from the tray to the pot? Thank you again.

Love your video! It seems pretty simple, so I’m gonna try it your way (today) with Iron Cross and Rex Begonias. Wish me luck! 🍀 🪴
BTW…Do you occasionally open your container so they can get some air? Maybe you said it and I may have missed it.
Wow I must try it out to propagate my begonia , the tiny plant that pop out really cute

Thanks Karen! One can just try it out...I often prop begonias to create 'back-ups'😁
Обожаю бегонии!!!! У меня коллекция декоративно лиственных и цветущих😍
Ah they are the best I think.....so beautiful and delicate!

Just found your channel and I love it! Thank you for explaining things so easy
So happy this channel finally found you, Milca! :) For a good laugh pls find my "Plant Parent" video!
Thank you for sharing. How can we take care of plant nematodes naturally?
Thank you for sharing your tips. I am currently trying to root a Begonia in water. It hasn't progressed any. Maybe I should try putting it directly in dirt.
Cane begonias root in water well for me. The rhizome type I usually do like this method
It is very informative so helpful thank you for showing us .
Thank you for all your good information. 🌈🇺🇸🌹🙏❤️
Thank you .Wonderfully explained
How on earth can 93 people not like this? Perhaps they were looking for a method to make ice cream? Hell.
Irene, great and you very much.
😂😂😂 thank you for making my Friday even better now!
Thank you . What about the light requirements for those boxes?
I find them quite versatile. Good amount of light but I don't put under direct light cuz so hot here I was afraid they will melt.
You are lovely and the tutorial also, thank you.
Where did you say that you put these after doing that to them? In shade, Bright Light or sun? Thank you so much
I put it in somewhere that's bright but not direct sun for the fear of it being too hot and melting the leaves😁
Did you use plant lights?
Hi
After propagation, when is the stage I can move the new leaves to a pot?
Thank u
It’s the best video I have seen, thx beauty!
