Those vine snakes are sooo awesome! I’d be so thrilled if that were my garden. Wouldn’t even need pets or fancy terrariums if I lived there. Just a fancy garden 😉 Also, the vine snakes are not deadly venomous to people… they have a special venom. And a unique method of injecting it, as they are part of the “opisthoglyphous” grouping of snakes. That means they have two small, blunt teeth that look like pegs at the back of their mouth; this helps with subduing their prey, which is usually small lizards and tree frogs. I.e., "squirmy", wriggling and slippery animals that need to be controlled and eaten quickly! 😂 Other venomous species like vipers, rattlesnakes, cobras, etc. usually eat rodents or other snakes or birds. They have two teeth at the front to give one swift bite, inject venom, and wait. Rear-fanged snakes have to work at chewing their venom in, and it really only is effective on reptiles and frogs. If a rear-fanged snake bites you, depending on the species, you may get some redness, pain, even swelling, but you won’t die and likely won’t even need medical attention. At least with the vine snakes, and hognose snakes, and many others. There are a few though that are considered dangerous to people. Like the boomslang. Not vine snakes though. They have bad attitudes, however! Very moody! And the eyes say it. 🤨 haha. The most deadly species are "front-fanged" as opposed to the rear-fanged snakrs, and includes all the vipers & rattlesnakes (adders, asps, sidewinders, etc) and elapids (cobras, mambas, coral snakes, sea snakes). Even all of these have varying levels of venom and aggression, but in general, vipers and elapids are the most likely to cause health concerns or even death.
