Happy New Year Rajiv! Thank you for a year of videos :)
I enjoy your mindful and creative approach to life and aspire to live in a similarly intentional way.
I would love to see more about the step-by-step mental and physical processes you go through for different activities. For example, how you structure your day, how you plan your travel to see new places, and how you go about learning something like watercolour painting or learning a piece of music (as you did the Chopin piece) from scratch without prior knowledge.
Would also love to see more chatting to camera in this more personal and natural way. Have a great 2024! 😊

Rajiv, pace yourself, allow for feedback but always always know where to draw the line. I've seen UA-camrs give of themselves to exhaustion. I'd say produce the content that makes you content and no more. You're a smart young man - never allow the system to steal that from you! God bless you!💕

Rajiv, you have been a blessing to me. I'm retired and volunteer at a local thrift store. I wear my favorite nice clothes and jewelry pieces. I have become the "designer" in the store and set up displays to showcase China, cerramic, and other products. People come in to see my displays and ask me how they can do this at home. What motivated me has been your videos. So you affect far more people than you know. It will be exciting to continue this journey with you in 2024. Much love and light to you ❤

Hope this helps!

I am a retired librarian and also an HSP (Highly Sensitive Person) I would like to thank you for your soft voice. It's very soothing and calming. I love all your videos! My daughter has played the harp for the past 25 years. I have been involved in the harp culture for years and find that I have loved every harpist I have ever met.
I highly value 1) order 2) routine. I feel our fast-paced world desperately needs order and routine. I would love to see your daily routine.
. I know every day is different, especially for a creative person. But it would be fun to see your basic routine....where you go for coffee, how you live an intentional day, how you make your decisions. Do you plan out your day? Do you plan at night or in the morning? How do you end your day? I think it would be nice to see that a certain percentage of your day is devoted to keeping things in order. A lost art!! Thank you for sharing a quiet, simple, intentional lifestyle with the world

I'm almost 70, downsizing (after cleaning out my 103 year old mother's home after her death last year), and I use your idea of 'curating' our new 'Tiny House'. @@dianecarney8635 This is so so difficult. I did this after my dad suffered a major health event and could no longer live in his house. In the grief and exhaustion of it I made some hasty and poor decisions. One piece of advice I would have is if you have space, or can afford to keep a storage locker, err on the side of keeping things for a while. Then come back to it in 6-12 months when you can think more clearly about it. You may find that you are thinking of/wishing for certain objects during that time and those you should keep, and other things you may come back to and realize are not as important as you thought. It's a process. It's difficult. Best wishes to you.

My dear Rajiv, I cannot tell you how much your work inspires and informs my life. Thank you for your graceful, calm instruction. You continue to be a blessing in my life. I am so happy that you weren't swept up by a conglomerate to produce videos of their choosing. The freedom to choose your direction is one of the most valuable aspects of what you do! You are a maker, a creator, and a doer. We need more of this in the world, and we need examples of what that means, what it looks like, and what it takes to become. Having a space that is freely accessible is a necessity for so many of us- so much information is blocked by paywalls! Please continue to let your heart decide your content. I agree with you that the "mental" aspects of your physical work is absolutely paramount. I've been an educator throughout my life, 9-year-olds... One of the hardest aspects of teaching is getting the student to understand that practice IS the key. Fluency, in any regard, does not come without effort and grit. Fluent writers, for example, are not born. Fluency only exists once the motor skills exist to support the writer's mental flow. For an artist, a single fluent brushstroke is not innate. A reader does not gain comprehension without the ability to understand the letters, words, and punctuation. I personally think that technology, with all of its benefits, does not necessarily improve our mental functioning. Our brains expect immediacy yet our bodies crave simplicity. Mastery of the mind is elusive and yet necessary for joy in life. I will watch anything you choose to produce, whether that is perfecting a period costume, or shining silver, neither of which applies to me, because it is what you bring to the subject matter that I enjoy so thoroughly. Instead, I ask you, what do you think the world of humans needs to know "how to" do? You are well on your way to a million + subscribers. Thank you for your teachings! I hope you have a wonderful new year.

Your channel provides me with a sense of calm in the chaos of two small children. After a full day of work, my housekeeping feels endless, and not always fulfilling. I was a fellow living history kid, I think that brought me to appreciate beauty and craft all around me. When you blend that with your South Asian identity it brings me such joy, particularly as the mother of mixed South Asian kids, who I want to appreciate their history while forging new paths for themselves. Thanks for being you.

Happy New Year, Rajiv! You make the world a kinder, more interesting place. For me, you are definitely a respite from the craziness in this troubled world. Many people appreciate the arts and beautiful craftsmanship, and there aren't many quality places to celebrate that. For me, there are the PBS shows, like Craft In America and a handful of UA-cam channels, primarily yours. I love what you are doing! May the channel grow and grow! Blessings in 2024 and beyond! ❤

    Dear Rajiv,
I have been a dedicated viewer and utilized your HGTV "apartment session" in a professional development class at my school. During our Covid Zoom sessions with the teachers, I shared your video to motivate teachers in exploring their interests, trying new things, and creating fulfilling home environments. Your videos, extending beyond tutorials, proved uplifting during a year where we spent considerable time working from home. Everyone found you so fascinating and inspiring! We debriefed and we discovered there were many talents and things to be curious about but were too afraid to try. Everyone agreed you are a true Renaissance man.
As a dedicated subscriber, I find your content genuinely valuable encouraging everyone to live their best life. I’m a loyal subscriber and think you are just a gem of a human being. Thank you for sharing your videos and have a wonderful new year🎉

Your channel is a total gem and you will have many many many more subscribers. I ordered a book from the 1960s on Japanese floral arranging and I am ,at the moment , attempting to learn the art of Ikebana. I live in a small town in north western Ontario near to the Manitoba border, and I have no one to give me any tips, so I’m just going to figure it out on my own lol. Or at least that’s the goal. 👌🏼😂 have a great week. I am looking forward to your next video.

Rajiv…You are Simply Amazing! I followed my Mother in and out of antique shops. (Take us to Europe & Sri Lanka) She renovated our local museum with her friend. She had many treasures in our home, and as we divided these tender sentiments, tears fell from our eyes. You take me back to following her around, like her little chickadee on her heels. She taught all this to me.
Your Handwriting, your Collections, Journaling, Gift Wrapping, Letter Writing, and the whole purpose behind Antiques and their Value in more ways than one, Harp, Piano, did you make us Roti? but the one that stood out… How to Make a Bed! Yay! You did it right! Lol😂 Have you heard of a Mangle? It’s a vintage iron press. My mother owned one, she was so good, she could iron my fathers shirts through it. I grew up with everything pressed! My friend owns a beautiful mansion and I have a blast decorating for her. I was making her bed, turning the sheets to face each other so that when you pull the covers down, the print matches, to climb inside the print. Well, she told me to redo it but I didn’t! 🤣 cuz of my upbringing. I adore all you do and your gorgeous 24kt Gold Bangles! Oh golly please don’t stop. I loved your Positive Thinking lesson, much needed! I luvvv the Pooch too! xo🤍xo

Congratulations on your one year anniversary Rajiv. I remember being so excited when you launched a year ago and I've watched every video (sometimes a couple of times). I think the thing that keeps bringing us back to your channel, is that you remind us to stop, take a deep breath, and do the simple things in life. Handwash our whites, polish our copper, journal each day, look at the way a vintage bowl is made. Life can be so frustrating and harsh, and you bring joy. I have a little antique shop in New Mexico, however, this year I also joined our fire department and became an EMT. It's been tough, sad and hard for me to witness the brutality of life -- so your channel has been a calm in the sea of chaos for me. I just returned from a heartbreaking call and watched this segment. Your voice, smile and attitude brought me kind of back from an abyss. I don't know if you even understand just how much you mean to us. So thank you and I'm looking forward to your videos now and in the future. God Bless You, God Bless everyone watching, and Happy New Year. Please be safe out there.

Rajiv, can you talk about how you reconcile being ‘bad’ or ‘beginner’ at something you really want to be good at but you’re not yet? I second this suggestion. As someone who is learning piano and oil painting and watercolor at the age of 50, it's very hard to just be a beginner. Idk about yall but if someone tells me to "just let yourself play" "allow yourself to just be free" I really have no idea what that means. Rajiv seems to be both methodical and casual when he's working on something. I'm sure he's having fun but there's an element of keeping his attention under strict but soft control.

I am so glad one of your videos were in my YT feed, and now I am binge watching your channel for last 3-4 days I guess...
I just looooove your aesthetic choice in everything you do.
Apart from being an artist, you are so many things at the same time without carrying the label of it, like you are a minimalist, you are a curator, you are wonderful home maker, you have this zest for everything good in life that nurtures your mind.
The base of it all, and the crux of it in my opinion, is your honesty and genuineness. That's why when I saw your kitchen and home tour videos, the first feeling I had is 'not staged'.
Your apartment's global feel is what I was searching for all these years. The things you own, the way you arrange them, no one can actually label them being from a particular culture or tradition. It has that unique feel that I have never sensed with any of the wonderful styles we see online, though authentic and aesthetically pleasing, they definitely define the heritage. say Scandinavian, oriental, European, Asian, Indian, African...
I am Indian and I love western eye for aesthetics; at the same time my heart craves for the warmth of the subcontinental appeal.
And without even searching for it, I found it in your style!
I was so happy that the shade of grey in your apartment is the same I painted my house 3 years ago! I have loved the pastel colours in western houses, but they look so much better with their white trims and wooden panels/moldings on the walls which is not the style here. Still, I went for it, and now while writing this I realise you do not have those either! That's why it appealed to me so much coz it in a sense approved my selection :)
The contentment you mentioned is really infectious, as many of us want to live like that but may be need some kind of affirmation and validation, especially when the surroundings do not support it or see it in the same light as we do.
I am so glad I found your channel; your conversations and your way of thinking brings out that feeling of coziness and happiness and gratefulness and warmth and contentment all at the same time.

This was the perfect video to start off the New Year, Rajiv. Thank you! Here are the things I would enjoy seeing you make videos about in 2024 (though you could read the dictionary and I would enjoy that as well!): 1) more of these conversational videos because it's nice to connect with you this way once in a while, 2) candles and candle making, 3) how to learn a new skill (especially as a busy adult), 4) how to collect friends the way you do special objects into your life--because I bet you do it selectively and with the same care you do your beautiful ironstone dishes, 5) how to plan your travel so you get the most out of the places you visit--maybe take us along on a trip? I hope this helps, and I am looking forward to learning more from you in the years to come.

It's hard to believe that your brain ever says "storage full". You have so much talent. What I have learned from you is that if a person is interested in something, with time, and patience, they can learn to do that thing. With more time and patience, they can learn to do that thing well. I love how you approach the beauty in your life and the importance you place on it. I am a mom, a wife, a homemaker and I used to say that "I do crafts". I feel like by watching you, I have learned to put an importance on the things that I love to do. I have learned to put in the time and diligence to be a better potter and I have learned how to make a better fitting crochet garment using better fibers which also means learning to care for the garment in different ways. I know I have much much more to learn in these areas. Now when I tell people what my hobbies are, I say I am a potter, and I sell my work at a major arts center in my area, and I design and hand crochet garments (usually something I'm wearing at that moment). Thanks Rajiv, I appreciate you more than you know.

This morning,I took down my Christmas tree and because Mardi Gras is big here I collected pine cones and painted them purple and found a way to attach them to the same holly tree.I was still able to use the green and gold decorative ornaments and I reused the garland I made out of beads I found on the ground last year by taking out the red ones.Creative pursuits always make me happy and since my garden is in the middle of an artsy town...other people enjoy it.

Rajiv, thank you so much for listening to your intuition in starting your own channel. You - and the subjects you teach - are so refreshing in a world where everything is fast-paced and mass-produced. I also started my UA-cam channel about a year ago now and it has been the most beautiful experience teaching and connecting with people from all around the world. I can sense your heart is fulfilled not only by what you do in private but by how many people's lives you positively impact by sharing your passions. Because of you, I recently started learning Spencerian calligraphy, something I had a vague interest in but was ignited in full force when you shared your video on the subject. Thank you for sharing yourself with us, your positive messages and philosophies, and your gentle kind heart. Lots of love to you and everyone around you in 2024. ❤
