A gun you can shoot well is worth customizing. Solid move! I like the placement of the G17/19x hump in the grip as opposed to the higher hump on the G19.
Just did mine I lined up a 19mag with mag release marked with pencil cut with dremel slowly sanded till mag locked.. heated up a old camping cast iron leveled it almost perfect and I glued in my lanyard loop its perfect
I love it! I've done this with a gen 5 g17. The grip angle is absolutely better on the 17 vs 19. Moreover, when we're in "The Shit" g19 mags are the most popular mags in the world.

@@cdazzy8441 I couldn’t find a 19 2 years ago so I had to settle for the 19x and got to a point where it was too hard to conceal but didn’t want to go as small as the 26 so just cut it down to the size of a 19 to see if it helped and it did with concealing it. Thanks for watching man!
I'm in the same situation. I have an LE G45 with a 3# Timney trigger. I don't shoot it that well. I love My 19C Gen 4. I think I'm going to buy a new Gen 5 19 frame.

Thank you! I would use a dremel tool with a sanding wheel and just be very careful with how fast and hard you push. Then you can use some fine grit sand paper to get it nice and polished up.
So I used the magazine to judge where I needed to cut and then I took off more as I needed to. I held the magazine up next the frame where it would be as if it were inserted into the gun and then made a mark on the frame. I then used a hack saw for the rough cut and used the deemed to perfect it with a sanding wheel. Then I used fine grit sand paper to polish it up. Thanks
I followed you up on this with my g19x I love it in theory when we bought it that long grip seems to be manageable but then we go through the motions of trying to not print in iwb and it always come back to the same conclusion 19 with out the x accepts more mags17 mags n 15mags And ya but the new fs gen 5 fde19 paint comes off way to fast been there done that so the so yeah hate all they want if it makes sense to do it just so it
did you find a magwell for it?? i did some sanding and buffing and removed the lip on my 19x. i was told now it would fit gen 4 17 magwells. like the magpull one. i think you did a killer job
SLR Rifleworks. They sell magwells for G19x without any mods to the gun. I just installed mine and it fit perfectly. I bought 2 more for my G17 and G45 which also both fit well.
No I didn’t because I’m not sure if the front having no lip anymore like most all Glock models have will fit the mag well. I really wanna try soon. I was thinking about it the other day! If I do I’ll make a video!
I just put on a magpul magwell gen4 it fits great. There is about a 16th of a gap where the front lip should be, but it's not bad at all and it is very sturdy
Thanks for stopping by, it shoots great. I actually feel it shoots flatter than when it was in the longer grip configuration (which I know makes no sense). I have probably close to 1000 rounds through the gun and a lot of them have been with the frame chopped like this. I prefer it better this way. Thanks again! Oh and yes sometimes you get a USA made model. For example the original g19x slide I had was made in Austria but the finish wore off weirdly so I sent it in and I got back a USA marked slide which was kind of cool!
Skillful measurement is the hard part, good work ! and that it suits you is most important. Now find a way to plug the butt, a magwell would do that as well.

I explained that I couldn’t find a 19 at the time and I prefer the 19 size frame. It’s my gun and it’s not going to be sold. This is what works for me. It’s more valuable to me now than it was before. So no loss in value at all to me.

I did this too. I bought the 19x but found myself not carrying it because it was too big. Chopping was cheaper than trading it in for a 19.

My 19x also is without the lip. If I want to put a Magwell, what kind of magwell I can put it?
Honestly I’m not sure, I can’t put any on mine unless I do some reworking to it to make one work.
