Let me know if you need any help with the tool links or ?'s and keep it consistent, literally the difference between an okay pattern and a great looking one. No matter how it comes out though don't stress looks too much because it's about grip mostly and that recoil control is going to be 10X better no matter how it turns out. Good luck man.

I used this guidance for a Springfield XDM elite. It turned out fantastic.
Practice on some magpul AR mags to get comfortable with the dremel and wood burner.
That came out awesome. Love the clean edges and the design looks rough but not over done. Thank you for the great tips and instructions
It's a pretty mild texture but I always ask what people prefer. And torch the final texture to adjust to their liking. Are you familiar with the torching trick to adjust the grip aggressiveness.

This may be one of my favorite patterns I've see. Great job man. I have a new Glock I really want to attempt this on but I'm hesitant. I do a similar drawing stippling technique but there is a lot of room for error on paper. I'm not sure I have the appropriate tools.

I actually really like this pattern, and I’m not usually big on random designs. For my personal preference, I would have left out the last small dot on the border, but very nice work man. Thinking about trying this on my 43X.
Tried it on my 43X, complete shit show. Did not go as planned, borders are trash. Need a new frame now. Lol. Figured I’d share my experience.
Very nice. I need the most aggressive stippling possible. This looks like it accomplishes that.
Yes to have it more aggressive, avoid sanding or torching of any kind once stippled. It will be more than satisfactory believe me.

I lack the confidence to do this to an expensive Glock, but I do have an aftermarket "poly plastic" folding stock on a long gun that's so "slippery" I changed back to original. I think I will try this technique on "shoulder pad" area. Should make a difference. Thank You
The best material to practice on, is your glock box. Just practice a bunch before you commit. Btw if you try on a frame and don't like it, you can restipple a frame about 2 or 3 times and do a frame replacement thru glock for $100.

I’m really good with art and customizing things with my hands, but worried there’s no mistakes with this kind of thing and I have a really cool design idea that I don’t know if I can trust another person to do exactly like it’s in my head. But I just bought this hellcat pro and worried I’ll mess it up. Should I go for it? I did a double undercut myself and did it slow and it turned out amazing. You just need to first familiarize yourself with the tool and how it burns (the impression time and angle). Then, practice your pattern, judging your consistency. Don't jump to your frame until your practice patches are getting easier. Moving onto a frame only adds difficulty in the sense of the different curves and more nerves. So practice your pattern along the curves of your practice glock box in all the hard spots too. Be patient but not scared. You should be much more confident after practicing your first few days. When you first start your frame and commit. Start in a non visible hidden location like front or backstrap, allowing you some wiggle room to get used to the pattern.
I really enjoy watching art at this level, to me it looks like you have a zen-like flow going while doing this. Do you have a beginners "how to" on prepping the frame? I have 21SF that I want to slim down as much as possible, maybe keep the finger grooves but cut the back strap down.

Just did my first stipple ever using this method and it turned out awesome. I went without the border and faded the dots into a gradient border.
I'm an artist so this a cool medium for me to work with and I'll expand from here

Only major change I make is I leave a smooth sanded circle where the gun indexes in the webbing between the thumb and pointer. Always makes sure that part slides in on the draw
Absolutely, that's the tang a lot of people don't understand that theses mods have specific functions. The "high tang" stipple is awesome for the range and getting an even better grip but its an absolute mistake for edc cus like you said it definitely will interfere when drawing from the holster.

Cerakote after will only make it that color, no problem at all. Stippling over cerakote will look burnt almost mixing the color of the cerajote and original polymer. Would look cool on a battleqorn or rough type build.

When you first started I was thinking that looks like ass but as you progressed it really came together and looked awesome! I would really like to hold that and see how it feels. Nice job.
You're right. It always looks uglier before it gets pretty with anything cosmetic like this. The grip enhancement is a complete game changer for recoil management. A stippled grip is one of the few mods that actually can make you shoot better instantly.

Thanks. This pattern is actually one of the most common for edc because it's the perfect aggressiveness. Don't forget tho you can adjust your stipple texture once complete with flame torch stages. I show it in one of newer videos( steps A-Z)

Anywhere from 1 to 3 hrs for recessed border prep if you choose to do any. As far as the stipple pattern goes a simple randomized pattern like BigDot can be applied anywhere from 30 min to 90min.
Apologies if this is already asked but im new to watching you but how do you get it flat to start stippling? Like the field looks like its sanded in some way
@clearedtoland72 watch my newer video with steps A-Z. You remove the factory texture with a sanding drum. Less is more with this, you just need it flat, not deep or smooth at all.

You can even try harbor freight. I bought a wood burner about a year ago and it works really well. Came with 9 different tips to use and I believe I paid under $12 for it.

Is a magpul ar mag the same material as a glock because when i try this it seems to not melt very smooth and ends up leaving ruff edges
People say there the same but I think every gun react a little differently. You get used to how your iron works and it's not a big deal in no time. You can always test on your glock in the middle of the grip and dremmel it off if u don't like how u started.

Adjustable heat as well. I usually run at 425 Celsius with Glock polymer.

Any detail on how you removed the magwell lip?
Took off the majority of material with a 150 grit sand drum( just leveling the lip) . Then 400 grit drum to TAKE YOUR TIME (it's slower but smoother finish and more room for error than 150grit drum)on getting the magwell level. Then finished with hand sandpaper 400grit.

Its definitely recommended to have a temp control but if your burner will reach close to 400F you should be OK. See if it will melt a dot into your glock case in a non noticeable spot. Just a good testing polymer for your situation. Btw your point of contact should be less than a sec.

Curious about a tip that is an inward cone opposite of a pointed tip. The contact would be on the edges of tip not the tip. What about a tip like what is used on leather. Basically a spur of heated tips allowing for a uniformed pattern and quick. Like rolling a hearted wheel down the surface… curious…
Most tips for polymer are usually shallow because you can't go very deep into the polymer. Hypothetically though If you did have a tip that was an inverted cone it would essentially leave a spike imprint. Only the first 1to2 millimeters of a tip is going to interact with the polymer in terms of the depth of the tip.
That would make an interesting pattern, with the perimeter of the shape of the top design making I guess you would call a negative impression versus a positive? Square, rectangle, circle and so on…
In general instead of making an impression it would simulate raising the pattern..?

That's understandable. It is more about function than looks if you ever do it. No matter how ugly it turns out, the recoil management will be 10x better. Also if you trsh a frame, glock will swap it out for a new frame for you as a warranty replacement after you send in your damaged frame and $100.

How long did this whole process take you??
The border work not seen in the video took me about an hour. Then actually applying the BigDot pattern took about 30 minutes because it's a real easy one.

Imo it looks better from factory, but this looks like you will have twice as good grip
Check out my IG for better looking patterns, I was just trying to teach a simple pattern for DIY. Btw have you held a stippled grip? Most people never want a factory grip again, unless they're done incorrectly they can be too aggressive and uncomfortable but that person shouldn't be stippling anyway. Also your recoil control skyrockets. Your groupings will be tighter for ANY shooter. I've got my double taps down pat now.

I use a few dif but really like the wood burners lately cus of the tip options. Any one you find will work fine. Run your tool around 400 degrees F

475-500 Celsius
