That's absolutely correct! Chuck Berry did it first and every other rock band out there pays homage to it in their acts! Thank you for mentioning that! 👏👏👏👏👍
Not exactly. Chuck Berry did an actual low to the ground walk. Angus does more of a hop and skip. No doubtedly a variation of Berrys, but definitely not the same.
You guys need to see them this summer, with Motley Crue, Def Leppard, and Joan Jett. Seeing all 4 of these bands on the same bill, would be awesome for you guys to see, and hear live, what my generation seen in the 80's, I'm 50 and my wife and I are taking our oldest Granddaughter to the concert in August here in Indianapolis.
Hope they’ve done something to fix Vince Neil - saw him open for Sammy Hagar and it was the most embarrassed for another human that I have even been. The experience was excruciating.
Have fun Gary I'm going to miss it I've seen them all back in the day myself I'm 55 I was a major concert goer I even went and saw The monsters of Rock in Seattle I will miss this one unfortunately party time you guys take care and be safe though in Indianapolis. 👈✌️😎🎸 Rock on
This was exactly what I needed . I love Poison so much I got a tat of the title of a Poison song "Fallen Angel" on me . I am glad that you both enjoy Poison so much... I am looking forward to your reactions on "Fallen Angel" and "Every Rose Has It's Thorn" by Poison . Thank you so much for this treat.... much appreciation to your channel and all you bring here .
@@timlenard1646 Absolutely agree with you on this. Everyone could have written that song but for me, 'give me something to believe in' is far more meaningful.
I think one of the reasons hair metal was so popular is that the happy sounding songs and carefree attitude appealed to women. Hard rock/heavy metal is more of a dude's thing, but the evolution to hair metal expanded the market to appeal to women.
I hate to admit that this is probably true. I love metal music but it was Poison’s look that caught my attention first, then I had to know more and fell in love with the musical genre as a whole. Take me back!
I’m not so sure about that, I’m female, I was born in 82’ grew up on classic rock and mtv videos. I love hair bands but I also love hard rock. As a teenager I listened to a mix of tool, Aerosmith, stabbing westward, nirvana, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, sublime, poison, Motley Crue, an eclectic mix of rock genres I guess. And as an adult it’s still the same, I like many of the newer hard rock bands and many 2000’s rock bands. Poison is like Motley Crüe’s alter ego. Same energetic band, but more colorful, and clean fun. “Image is everything” must of been Poison’s motto, and they sure bring that out in their videos.
I don't know how old you are but from an 80's teen here please don't sell these guys as choir boys. C.C. almost killed himself on a mountain of cocaine and Bret almost did the same in a DUI accident. They are good now but where the hell do you think they got the energy to do this night after night?!? Good time had by most back then but no way near clean.
Poison is so much fun to see live, I’m lucky enough to have seen them twice. Once with Cheap Trick and Def Leppard (my first ever concert), and the other alongside the legendary Motley Crue. Both shows were phenomenal, the energy these guys give onstage is out of this world
I know older comment but I saw them twice too. '91 Flesh & Blood tour, and the '99 reunion tour was the other. I mowed yards to buy that 91 ticket, $20. They played in a small college and probably more people at the show that night than the town had population. For a kid seeing these people you watched on mtv was mind blowing.
Saw them twice, back in the day, once as a supporting act, the next time was their first headliner tour. Both times a quality show, very entertaining and loads of fun!
Most guys know a girl that was sweet and innocent one year, then someone you don't even recognize a year later. It's tragic. But that's the theme of Fallen Angel by Poison. They also had 3 amazing ballads. I won't forget you, every rose has its thorn, and Something to believe in.
Interesting thing about this band, Brett Michaels, the lead singer is an insulin dependent diabetic. He trained the entire band to take care of him if his suger goes out of whack. When the ambulance arrives they are surprised that he's stable.
The only other group which has a members back in that manner I can think of is Def Leppard, when drummer Rick Allen lost an arm in an accident. And instead of saying "hes gone," they stuck by him while he retrained with doctors and technicians and waited for him to get well so he could play again. In both cases, the way they stick together, that spells 'family.' A very rare thing to see in music today. ❤️

Fallen Angel, Every Rose Has Its Thorn (ballad), Talk Dirty to Me, I Won't Forget You (another ballad), Cry Tough, Bad to Be Good, Stand, Back to the Rocking Horse, I Want Action, Want Some, Need Some, Look What the Cat Dragged In, Blame It on You, Let Me Go to The Show, Love on the Rocks, Tearin' Down the Walls, Look But You Can't Touch, and Ball and Chain (guitars and drums are insane on this track).
The version of the KISS Song, "Rock and Roll All Night", the the dishwasher was listening to was performed by Poison, who recorded that for the Less Than Zero soundtrack in 1987. 🎸🎸🎤🎵🎶🎵 😎
We really need a resurgence of this kind of Rock-n-roll! The 80's hairbands created something so unique, so powerful, so magical that nothing coming out now even remotely comes close! That is why so many of these bands are still performing with good success. People want to ROCK!!!
Talk Dirty to me, Momma's Fallen Angel, Every Rose has it's thorn(slower but beautiful)! I saw them in concert in 88 and OMG they are amazing! They perform just like this!!!!
These were my high school years. It was one hell of a time to be that age. If I told you stories you would never believe them. Great reaction, and thank you for bringing back such great memories! 👍
A few songs for Jay as a Dad to both girls and now a little boy. This is from a dad's point of view. Song is "Butterfly Kisses" by Bob Carlisle and 2nd is "Cats in the cradle" by Harry Chapin. I hope you check them both out!
Watching you two fully rock out to this song made me realize how I must’ve looked back in junior high when I first heard Poison, which was the band that dragged me into the metal scene. I was never the same after seeing their video for Talk Dirty to Me, I was glued to the television by their looks, their energy, and the sheer fun of their music. Nobody was like Poison. I’m so happy we get to revisit them on your channel and see you get hyped like we did (and still do).
One of my favorite songs by them and always makes me smile when I hear it :D I'd forgotten you did "Ride the Wind" and "Unskinny Bop" already :D Such a good band :D
Got to see this one-of-a-kind band back last summer of 2022 in Seattle along with Def Leppard Motley Crue and Joan Jett and man oh man Poison killed it with such energy and so did Motley Crue, once in a lifetime experience!!!
Poison is actually a band full of talented musicians in my opinion. I mentioned CC on that guitar. Then there's Rikki Rocket on the drums. Underrated. Bobby Dahl on bass. Underrated. Brett Michaels on the other hand was not underrated. Great voice.
What I love about Poison is that they embraced POP in the 1980s with their Hair Metal, but they were not produced like boy bands are today. Brett, Bobby, and Ricky all used to played together in their home state of PA before they moved to LA. CC is from Brooklyn and didn't join the band until they were trying to make a name for themselves in LA. Even today a good CC Deville guitar solo still puts a smile on my face. He is considered a master of his craft and he has one of the largest electric guitar collections in the world. 90% of which he helped design and they almost all scream 1980s.
My last hair stylist from North Carolina used to hang out with Poison when they were on the East Coast. Apparently, C.C. is still using the Aquanet all these years later.
I was in high school...maybe like 9th grade, we had a girl in our class who kept telling us her cousin Bobby was in this band and they were out in California and they are gonna make it big. Really none of us believed it and all of a sudden they got huge...boy did we all feel stupid. 😕 but we all really loved them once we heard them for ourselves...and now their music is a part of our growing up that we won't ever forget!!!!
It’s so great when the younger generation listens and appreciates the awesome music I had growing up. Your love of music and the joy on your faces is what keeps me coming back to your channel for more. Keep up the great work!
Poison were a fun band and fun music and videos. They were unfairly givin a bad rap I think for the other crappy hair bands of the '80s and early '90s that flooded the radio and MTV. . Only because Poison was one of the big bands of that genre back then. They were good, them, Guns N Roses, and Motley Crue. All blues rock influenced, talented. Grunge ( related to punk) , punk, alternative rock, and hip hop had a huge boom in the early '90s, kind of hurt Poison and the likes (hair/glam rock/metal).
What killed the hair bands was the record companies, just like they killed grunge years later. Once Motley Crue and especially Bon Jovi started to get some recognition, the record companies saturated the market. Too much of the same thing.
@@jonathangeraldrobinson720 True. Very true. BTW, grunge kind of stayed around, but morphed into post-grunge into the late '90s, '00s. Their sound and vibe changed, too due to record companies. But, yes, you are right about everything you had stated, especially with the hair bands.
I delivered Pizza in East lansing Mi back in the 90s and got lucky enough to deliver to the Bassist for Poison. I had the long flowing blond hair back then and they were one of my absolute favorites! We kinda hit it off and he invited me to the Poison,Dokken concert the next night, had a few tickets at will-call for me. Freaking GREAT band, bunch of very cool dudes. BTW, you really need to do some Dokken 😁
Lots of great 80’s “hair metal” bands to check out. You should give “All We Are” by Warlock a listen for female Friday some day. Lead singer nicknamed the queen of metal by many.
Agreed, but you really shouldn't refer to Warlock as "hair metal". They were HEAVY METAL in the truest sense of the word, in the same ballpark as Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Saxon and Accept.
The lead singer is Bret Michael. He grew up in a working class family from southwestern Pennsylvania. they understand hard work pays off and how to have fun. He always comes back to the area for the Holidays and Steelers game. If you have not seen them in person you doing know what you are missing. Glad I had the pleasure to see them live back in the day😊
Poison was never metal, they were a hard pop band. No self-respecting metalhead at the time would listen to them. If you want genuine metal, check out Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax…the “big four.”
I'm 48, so I was around at the time, and I refused to limit myself according to some pathetic image constraints. Poison had their place on the scene, and the Big 4 had theirs. And they all still do. They're all part of my CD collection, and always have been. Thankfully, most older metalheads from that era have come to their senses and realised that their ridiculous snobbery only prevented them from properly appreciating different types of music. But speaking of image - I still got hair down to my ass, how metal is that??
the Guitarists o the 80's Hairbands did the "Angus Strut" and "Headnod" as acknowlegement of Angus , the man was revered as a Guitar God" even then he started with AC/DC when he was 15 yrs. old... A god given Talent,,, CC Devill is another who was blessed with this Talent.
These bands were excellent performers and high energy I loved being a teen through the 80s we chased bands and saw concerts all over the country! But the big thing is under all that glam these people were excellent musicians they were very skilled at what they did! Tremendously respected❤
Every band after VH dropped tried to emulate them w/their version. [IMO] VH night not have been the best band ever, but they came pretty close to it, and that's why they remain in my all-time Top 3 favorite bands. No band is perfect, and every band has a weakness, again, IMO, VH,'s weakness was Michael Anthony. He's a really good bassist, but nothing stands out about himself OR his playing. Now his backing vocals were second to none. But that was it. Meanwhile, DLR was the ultimate frontman, he wasn't the best singer, but his style, and charisma, his showmanship was unparalleled. While nobody can say for sure who actually created the hammer in pull off technique, whether it was Randy Rhodes or Eddie himself,😊 Eddie was still [one of] THE most influential guitarists of all time, and there no denying that. Alex's drum work is in a whole new level. Can you imagine if VH, instead of Michael Anthony on bass, imagine they had Billy Sheehan? Oh that would've been nuts!
Brings me back to to my early childhood because my sister played this since it came out so I was raised on this and my older sister schooled me on music since I was born
I was dating a girl at the time and she wanted to go see Poison. I grudgingly got us tickets to the show. Was very surprised and has a great time! Great show! Went the next year to see them again. When Poison came on after the warm up band, they told the crowd that on the way to the show, that their truck carrying all their equipment and stage props had burned to the ground and C. C. stated that he and the rest of the band lost everything for the tour and the other bands lent them the instruments to do the show. He said he had never played this guitar in his life but that the show would go on. They did a fantastic show still even without all the green/pink stage our even their own gear.
The move C.C. Deville is doing was originated by Chuck Berry. It is called the duck walk. That is what Angus does. C.C. just isn't doing the whole thing. One of the original 80s hair bands that didn't last into the 90s. They tried but alternative and grunge had made their appearance.
I personally 'discovered' these guys when they opened for Ratt in Seattle, either '85 or '86 (I'd have to check my Ticketmaster stubs, hehe)...because they blew Ratt away like nobody's business with their performance, energy, & hungry sound (heavier live), with half the stage size that was given to the headliner. This became an instant anthem for me and my friends in '86. 🤘 It captured the soul of our generation back then, that decade.
Poison, probably top 10,hair band.Grew up with all the greatest bands ever, will never be another time ,when music was,at its best. One band you havent reacted to METALLICA,when you do get around to it,try,Enter Sandman,1991 in Moscow, you will be surprised, not all by the band itself, but by a few other things, you two want to see, what a real concert consist of,this is the one to watch.THANKS guys for doing what you are doing, nice to see some youngins, enjoying what i grew up with,me and the wife, love you guys, thanks again.
Went to a concert with Poison, Def Leppard and Super Tramp in Phoenix a few years back. AMAZING all 3 bands. Def Leppard played the AC/DC recording “For Those About To Rock” to warm the crowd up before they hit the stage!! WOW!
We need more folks like you getting the old good music out and showing it to their kids. Nothing being made now even competes with everything from the 80s back to the 5os for rock and the 40s for music in general.
When I was a young teenager, my parents let me go to rock concerts as long as I bought them a ticket too to keep an eye on me (plus they were my ride). Saw Poison 3 times and I think the last time I saw them, I just rocked out on the floor with a friend and the rest of the crowd and my mom and aunt (sisters) rocked out from the seats, they loved it! They are both older than everyone in the band, but the energy of the show they put on was enormous! Because of them I saw Poison, Def Leppard, Queensryche, Bon Jovi (my first concert), etc., before I could drive.
Bring up memories of watching MTV late at night and all these videos would play, when MTV actually played music. This band was always fun to watch, they had so much fun 🥰🥰🥰
I love watching you two enjoying the music.... makes me feel young again remembering when me and my friends would hear it for the first time, going to the concerts and having the times of our lives! Thank you!
Two of my favorite songs by Poison are Talk Dirty to Me and Unskinny Bop. I've seen them twice, once in the 80s and again in 2010. Rikki Rockett, the drummer, started out as a hairdresser so he was able to help style all that 80s hair. He demonstrated how to tease all that hair for an article in Life or People magazine once. He said one of the greatest challenges was keeping up with the green streak in Bobby Diall's hair, once even used Kool-aid and peroxide to see if that worked better.
I saw them my freshman year in high school and it was the funnest concert I ever went to! I fought my way to the very front and was almost crushed to death, but it was worth it! 😂 I also caught one of Bobby Fall’s bass picks that he threw! Such a great memory for me! 🥰
CC Deville is one of the most underrated guitarists ever. People get caught up in their images to not notice the talent that he, particularly, has.
There is a reason he was chosen over Slash, I agree that he is underrated, and Slash is overrated.
He made me want to play guitar. Then when I saw him live he made me want to put it back down, beyond my capability lol
"Hit it C.C.!"
I can not agree more about people getting hung up on the image and therefore CC getting totally overlooked for his work!
Agreed
The "Angus move", as you called it, is actually called "the duck walk", and was actually invented by Chuck Berry.

or was it Marty McFly? hah!

You forgot Something To Believe In.
Also, Ride the Wind.
Cry Tough
Definitely these 3
Also a great one by them is I won't forget you baby. And the I want action talk dirty to me and look what cat dragged in also star songs.
😁 The guitarist is C.C. DeVille. He co-wrote many of Poison's hits.

Saw them 4x in their heyday, they always put on a great show. Have a listen to "I Won't Forget You"
80s Glam was Awesome time for live concerts 👍
Lead singer: Brett Michaels
Drums: Rikki Rockett
Bass: Bobby Dall
AND GUITAR!!!! THE AWESOME C.C. DEVILLE
Always a fun Hiar band, no staying power like alot of hair bands....love the KISS at the begining of the video.
It’s Poison’s cover of rock and roll all night that is in the movie Less than Zero that featured Robert Downey jr ( Ironman)
My cousin has seen them in concert 27 times and has tickets for their next show that's local. Love their "Talk dirty to me" ❤
C.C. Deville is the best guitar player. Great hair, great guitar playing
You beat me to it love CC 🙋🏻♀️
My last hair stylist from North Carolina used to hang out with Poison when they were on the East Coast. Apparently, C.C. is still using the Aquanet all these years later.
I was in high school...maybe like 9th grade, we had a girl in our class who kept telling us her cousin Bobby was in this band and they were out in California and they are gonna make it big. Really none of us believed it and all of a sudden they got huge...boy did we all feel stupid. 😕 but we all really loved them once we heard them for ourselves...and now their music is a part of our growing up that we won't ever forget!!!!
Poison = KISS lite
It’s so great when the younger generation listens and appreciates the awesome music I had growing up. Your love of music and the joy on your faces is what keeps me coming back to your channel for more. Keep up the great work!
Great reaction as always absolutely love you're channel. If you love 80's hair bands check out Winger and Cinderella 🤘❣️
Look beyond the glam and these are talented musicians - especially C.C. DeVille on guitar.
That would be C.C. DeVille on guitar!
They are one of the FEW bands that give you your money's worth in concert. Its a party concert
Glad I had the pleasure to see them live back in the day😊
Poison was the Nickleback of the 80's..... Everyone claimed to hate them, but they didn't.
Poison has always been one of my favorite bands. Brett Michaels voice is one of the best ever - to this day.
@@erikthompson619 lol. Hit close to home, huh?
the Guitarists o the 80's Hairbands did the "Angus Strut" and "Headnod" as acknowlegement of Angus , the man was revered as a Guitar God" even then he started with AC/DC when he was 15 yrs. old... A god given Talent,,, CC Devill is another who was blessed with this Talent.
Honestly....true rockers in the 80's couldn't stand Poison.
These bands were excellent performers and high energy I loved being a teen through the 80s we chased bands and saw concerts all over the country! But the big thing is under all that glam these people were excellent musicians they were very skilled at what they did! Tremendously respected❤
They all try and copy Van Halen....not a better front man than David Lee Roth or old school Mick Jagger.
I think you forgot Steven Tyler!! He's my favorite frontman!!🎶🎼🎵🤘🤘🔥🔥
Your a dumbass. Everyone copied him.
I love how much fun Amber is having listening to this song.
Y'all really, really need to listen to their best song, "Every Rose Has It's Thorn". Totally different vibe!
My favorite of all! God Brett Michaels is sexy
Brings me back to to my early childhood because my sister played this since it came out so I was raised on this and my older sister schooled me on music since I was born
You guys are playing way too much '80s lately. My family & I were really enjoying your content up to this point.
Talk Dirty to Me has to be next! LOL
Still takes me to the same place as it did when I was a kid.
Seen them in concert several times. Absolutely great entertainment on the stage.
Gotta say again I love the tees! J's Sister Rosetta and Amber's Bigfoot riding Nessie?! Too good!! Great to share your enjoyment of some Rock'n'Roll!
"Fallen Angel" of course. One of my favorite Poison songs. I was in high school when they came out. You cant help but have fun while you're listening.
Thank you!
One of my favorite guitar solos of all time.
I used to put headphones on and fall asleep to this whole tape in 9th grade ☺️
