I own 2002 IS300 in blue with manual tranny and love this beautiful villain. It is my daily ride too and step by step I am makin it very personal. It was / is a thrill drive every time - doin mods, maintenance and upgrades to unleash more of its charm and potential. Natural high kind of ride each and every time I take this bad boy for a drive, do not want stop, the spell is strong, 1st gen IS fanatics know. Silly cats over the years tried to convince me to quit and sell when it needed repairs that my wallet could not afford to beat, money honey been a challenge - bitter and uneasy, but I did not give up, it was just a matter of effort and time - fixed, revived and brought it back to Life, not sellin my dream ride, I do not regret, would be a fool if I did that. The reward is sweet - drives like charm - purrin on the lights, roarin through the streets, king of the roads that is not to be messed with. Years on and the choice to keep this beast in the past, made me realize - it is a future classic now which in manual tranny is rare and hard to find, what I sloppy fool I could have been if I sold it for chump change to some lucky cat, I would regret it now, no doubts about that. Fun fact - my fave colour has always been and still is blue so I brainstormed one day and blessed my IS with a special name that I feel really fits. Short and sweet, I call it - Blue Beast. Braza, I can feel and appreciate the love and passion for your beautiful first generation IS that truly is a unique one of a kind blue beast that you nurtured, raised, built, empowered and its wild character unleashed. And this beautiful video illustrates exactly that. Bad ass and mean, fabulous and clean, powerful and smokin hot! The best IS300 I have seen. They are so hard to find in Australia...well ones not stupidly modified and half wrecked. Selling my ISF and will try to get one of these. Still the best looking Lexus ever made....

@@RacecarAndChill Once they are warm, they do surprisingly well. That being said, I do run boost by gear to help maintain traction (28+ PSI would be completely useless in the lower gears).
@@RacecarAndChill I'm currently running a 14-15 PSI wastegate spring set, so that's usually what I command for first and second (also keep in mind I have a V160 and 3.55 final drive). I think 15 PSI on the R888 should do okay!
Beautifully done, both in car and video. So refreshing, I wish people did car videos like this instead of the usual cringe. Definitely went for the same style as i did, but took it another step further with the engine. This represents what I wished mine had become, but unfortunately, daily driving in Baltimore with lots of salt and horrible roads and crashes did mine in. Looks like you take good care of it instead of "daily-ing" it. Definitely keep this one intact and keep up the good work.
@@twojay Yeah when I saw the row of garage bays and the car tucked nicely inside of a full empty one, I knew it was in good hands LOL. Plus, I don't imagine it ever sees a grain of salt there in Utah haha.

@@twojay so I was told. Said I didn't want a Honda nor anything fwd. Had to be stick. Looked for 6 months and saved found her and have been wrenching since last December.. A Christmas gift to myself. I truly love this car and get asked to sell it weekly.

It's been just recently in the media and on UA-cam especially, the new discovery of the underrated nature of the is300... love these cars, balanced, clean, and god status power delivery (based on your application and set up) very reliable and can be made very practical. It was an absolute pleasure to watch this and I enjoyed how clean the engine bay was, I know it took time to get every surface that clean for the shoot and I can respect that for sure. I'm sure the mechanics of the engine build are equally beautiful and thought out, the wrinkle black covers and beautifully exposed coil pack set up is beautiful, and the black extinguisher is the perfect safety accent. Detail vacuum patterns on the door fabric, the whole build looks very well thought out!
@@7eamGhast Luckily I have another vehicle to drive on a daily basis so this one spends most of it's time in the garage where it stays nice and clean. 😉 It has been an ongoing evolution for the last 6 years so it definitely helps when you can take your time to do things right. It sounds like you have a great attention to detail, so I'm sure your build will not disappoint!
Clean and not stanced out! Awesome job on the build! I just picked up an 03 5 speed manual and looking around to see what guys have done. Sticking to the ge for now as it will be a dd but was curious if you can do a vid on your wheel suspension combo.
