I can’t believe all the comments, I guess a lot of people don’t understand a Northern sense of humour! I’ve not tried the bobber yet either, but I’d like to!
I've owned my bobber black for almost a year. I've road it all year long and just getting threw my first winter in Boston MA with it. The bike has not failed me yet and has out preformed every expectation I set for a bobber. This bike definitely is worth getting for an every day commuter. I will be buying another bobber in the future. I absolutely love Triumph for building such a work of art. If your on the fence about getting one just buy it. You wont regret I promise you that.
Hopefully you are still around for a reply, but curious -- is the lean angle that bad? My biggest bobber worry is slow speed turning hitting pegs or some more aggressive twists hitting pegs. that would start to worry me if it happened often. [i ride around a lot of low speed cobblestone around town and catching a peg on that would be devastating..]
If the Bobber Black would have been around when I purchased my 2016 Harley Model 48, I would have hard pressed to make a decision between the two. The Bobber black is an extremely well thought out motorcycle. Kudos Triumph.
Was looking at the Triumph and the Indian and because of the look I chose the white smoke Indian scout bobber....it was a tough choice but I think I made the perfect choice for me
I am actually wondering what a change in seating position would do to your level of comfort. I read that moving the seat backwards does improve your comfort greatly if you're a tall rider.
Apart from the seat i like it. It's a Triumph. All Triumphs are cool bikes! I'm across the pond with sub zero temps w/snow & ice. And You got fairly nice riding weather what gives!? Lol! Great review!
Nice looking bike. I know I am a bit late to get to this one but a Bobber comes from cutting (bobbing) the fenders and stripping them down. Just another version of a Cafe bike really. Cafe, Bobber, Street Tracker all have the same concept, strip it down and make it lighter.
@@forthebold Ahhh, ya missed the joke. I am a sarcastic bastard and I know how jokes don't go over well sometimes. Well question for you that I don't know. What is the meaning for the triangle? You and Jish both use it.

All the tech on bikes and still so few manufacturers do self cancelling indicators. I'm same height as you so guessing the same comfort issues. Think the new 1200 Scrambler could be a better fit.
Yeah to think they are available, just in the moment and hadn't cancelled it myself, oops. I'm hopefully taking out a Scrambler XE (which is taller than the XC) which I think will suit my height better.
I purchased this bike last April based on beauty alone. For 20 years I rode sport bikes and wanted something with a more upright sitting position. I miss my sport bike and wished I hadn't bought the bobber. Not nearly as fun to ride as many have said. Juar my 2 cents
the fact that I aw no biker wave at 15:50 actually felt weird for me and even made me feel a bit sad. Doesn't the left hand side driving system bother you?
Bobber (motorcycle) - Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobber_(motorcycle) Bobber (motorcycle) A bobber, originally called a 'bob-job' from the 1930s through 1990s, is a style of custom motorcycle. The typical construction includes stripping excess bodywork from a motorcycle; removing the front fender, and shortening the rear fender, which is "bobbed" (as in bob-tail), and all superfluous parts removed to reduce weight.
Image: faceyman.com A "bobber" (a bobbed motorbike) is basically a customised motorcycle with its front fender removed. More usually, other decorative and superfluous parts are removed too. And why not? A fantastic opportunity to take these bikes out. Easter is time to ride my builds. Plus Historic UK vehicle tax meant I had to wait until this April before I could take the GS550 out.

Steve Mac yeah. Pretty sure it’s because we bobbed (or cut off/cut short) all the parts not necessary to make the bike go fast. Like the hair style, a bob, to cut short.
I'm here just shaking my head in disbelief, too lazy or too stupid to research the name origin/history of a bike I'm reviewing. Yea.....................
Well I enjoy talking them out. And talking about them. So I’ll carry on as it’s something I really like doing. Something in life I never do is listen to other people.

Unfortunately I have no spare cash at the moment for a new bike, but I would for sure like to have one in my collection.
Im planing buy one this month. Can you give me advise bobber or speed twin? Thx
They’re both completely different bikes. All depends what ride you’re after. My advice is take them both out and see which you like.

Definitely kudos to them, I was seriously surprised
Needs another tank warning sticker "**WARNING** This is a two wheel Motorcycle remember to place a foot down when coming to a complete stop"
Warning, this may go fast
😂 gold lol

I've heard good things about the Scout too

The options you have is to pivot it up and down, I didn't try it out myself but would be interesting to find out on long journeys

They do make great bikes, we must have done something right for the hottest February on record
Or we've been doing something very wrong for a coupe of centuries 😁
I dunno mate, I think that tank needs more stickers
Think there's a little more room for another one
Love the looks. Under more spirited riding it runs out of lean angle quite quickly and the suspension doesn't keep up. To be expected I guess.

Yup. Sorry I was making a joke out of the name but I think it was taken a little seriously as the road was bumpy with a hard ride.

I can imagine comparing it to a sports bike, I was still impressed with how it handled on the open roads.
Fantastic review. Cheers Mark
Thanks Mark.
Love that jacket. 👍🏼
Will be a video on my riding gear next week.

No waves in this country. Just a gentle head nod which we both did. As for left hand side. Grown up with it so it’s natural.
Does this mean u might be building a bobber in the future???
I would love to, not a hard tailed though, not for these roads
Love the review of the seat😁👍
Ha, glad you get my humour
bobber comes from "bobbing around on the bike" really? ... do some research

Not really a bobber type, but that's nice looking bike!
It is a nice looking bike, would look better without the rear fender
So you can post these rides, but not your bikes?

I wanna see the 550 in action!
It's on the road this weekend.
Hows comfortable is this on longer rides like 200 miles
It would be very comfortable if the pegs were more forward which you can get kits for.

Yeah I think of it was your height I wouldn’t have issues with the stock pegs.
Cracking bike but I’m just too big for it at 6’ 3”

Eh. You’re not a reviewer man. You’re a builder.
