Saw one at the dealer today. Nice looking machine and that's from someone who usually doesn't like the Triumph look. It's quite expensive and IMHO has enough performance to really need the 2nd front disk.
Yeah I agree, the brakes do need a bit of an upgrade for the next iteration....Triumph is pretty good at listening to it's customers so let's see what happens...
Took one out for a test ride a few weeks back. Absolutely gorgeous to look at and listen to. I'd love to have one for posing around and simply admire, but sadly I need a proper commuting bike which this isn't. As you say, fine in town but 70% of my commute is motorway which would become painful. That said, come the lottery win I'll have one in the garage.
Incredible bike, I agree with the "rip your arms off torque"... I think you're going to love the new street scrambler it's such a fun, easy bike to ride. Although I know you're looking forward to that long term street triple test! 😜
A great-looking bike if nostalgia is one's thing. A really period rear-end (?). I like it. I await more reports with anticipation. Hilarious comments on the Cee'd.
Just subscribed to your channel. Beginner rider, 41 in America but your long term reviews about actually living with the bikes are great! And I gotta be honest the triumphs are calling to me. Actually going to check out a 2017 scrambler this evening.
Right let's see now there's the: T120 Bonneville ,T100 Bonneville, Bonneville Bobber, Street Cup, Street Twin, and Thruxton. I think they've got modern retro covered now! Enjoy the bike TMF. You're not gonna go all hipster on us after riding all these bikes.
Nice looking copies of Amal monoblock carbs to go with the period look. Sounds quite nice when you opened the throttle in 3rd. Not my kind of bike but a good option for guys who like to customise
I swapped my 2015 Street Triple Rx for the Bobber, in ironstone, and I absolutely love it! It's agile and goes like stink, and sounds amazing. The riding position takes a little adjusting to but isn't weird or uncomfortable, I just couldn't find the pegs in the beginning. I do not regret my decision at all. I just wish my helmet matched the bike better :P
If the brakes were upgraded and the fuel tank was larger to extend the range, this might be a fun addition to the garage. Another informative review. Thanks, Flyer.
10:14 Surely it's 'aitch' mate. Cheerio and all that. Great test though - I rode one last week for a few hours, and I agree with what you've said. Apart from the front brake which requires a good handful to haul up from high speed, and the short travel of the suspension it suited me perfectly. The only problem I have is having to sell my Street Triple R to help fund the purchase. I wish I could keep both. :-)
I’ve sat on one of these on a triumph retailer and instantly fell in love with it, it’s even way more comfortable than the street twin which was right next to it, at least for me. Would you say the bobber is the best triumph for weekend strolls?
I love that bike so much. Don't do old school as you know but I'd have one of those in a heartbeat. Triumph need to let me have one on a really long term or permanent loan.
Unfortunately no. I only did my DA last July so most dealers are a tad wary of lending me their bikes. Closest I've come to riding a cruiser is sitting on my mates Harley in the bike shed at work. lol
Great review Sir. Not really into the retro thing but this looks good. I do like that stretch of road between Towcester and Aylesbury as well very relaxing.
Good initial review Sir. I like the looks, ('cept, like yourself, the fake carbs,) and am actually considering one as a future purchase. Lack of braking power is a bit off-putting for me though, although I guess there will be upgrades available that might improve feel/power. Really looking forward to seeing how you get along with the Bobber - thanks for sharing and enjoy!
I'm glad I chose the Kawasaki W 800 Street from 2019. And what's with all the warnings on the tank? I only see plastic, plastic, plastic on the Bobber. But the sound is nice.
Excellent review. Great looking bike but you'd think they would have included at least a 12 liter fuel tank but I guess the designers were more concerned about looks rather than range.
Sports Cars aren't practical either, they are what they are ... this is a bike made to do one thing, cruise around the country roads in Sunny weather - it's everything I'm looking for. Yes, shame about the tiny fuel capacity, but it also keeps the Bike honest to its purpose in my view.
Thanks TMF, i've been looking forward to you giving this one a review. I think the looks are quite outside many peoples idea of their perfect bike but I quite like it. I was quite surprised at how low down it felt when I sat on one, though not ridden one as yet. I wonder if this might be a bike someone would have as a second or even third bike in their garage.
Looks lovely and It would make sense in downtown Miami which I assume is Triumphs main aim. Nowhere to put your girlfriend though. Harley got caned in the US press recently for still only fitting a single disk on some of their bikes and that's a really bad decision from Triumph. Loved the way you turn into a werewolf on seeing a Cee'd. Classic! Looking forward to the next few vlogs on it!
Wow, it looks unlike anything else out there really. 70 miles range? Er, I don't think I'd be opting for cruise control. By the time you'd got to turn it on you'd be stopping for fuel again. Lovely looking thing though. 3rd bike for me maybe?
Great review TMF as usual, had a deposit down on one then immediately backed away once I sat on one, really unnatural feet position and not adjustable on the 1.0 incarnation. Each to their own
+Andrew Kotys The Bobber definitely handles very well, the T100 is fading in my memory but the Bobber is definitely the better handling machine I reckon....
Do you like triumph bikes by any chance? You've ridden a few recently! Can't complain, absolutely beautiful bikes... Thanks for another great video TMF!
+Anonymous Biker Cheers AB - yes I am a fan of Triumph bikes as you've gathered, not only that but they are the only manufacturer to come to me and ask if I'd like to borrow their bikes on long term loan to review - in my book that makes them good eggs! :0)
Another really precise review mate from what you said about the bike one of it's main competitors would be the Indian Scout which I own not too sure if you could get your hands on one to compare but it would be interesting if you could just to get your views.
Just catching up with some of your videos. I think I’m going to come to your local area, hire a Kia C’eed and try and taunt every biker I see in the hope that it could be you ! Never realised you had so much stored venom and repressed anger........ha, ha. I’m glad we are adding to your pet hate catalogue, along with white vans and Nissan Figaros. Great video review as ever.
Great video....looks great....so many good bikes this year.... r nine racer or bobber....the bobber is not released yet I think in Aus so great to see this video thanks
For comparison: Kawa W 800 Street. Only sound, no talk, no music and very beautiful landscapes. Sometimes up to 2 hours long. Search for: "yas! Virtual ride 59min"
This is a great bike. My choice for my first bike is this or the trident 660. Two very different bikes of course. I prefer this one over trident. But there is the cost difference. Ill test em both. Great review.
@@TheMissendenFlyer ok. One last question. 2021 street twin compared to trident 660. Again very different bikes. I’m very drawn to the all black street twin. Will it be as much fun to ride as the trident. Yes. I will test them both of course in the spring
TheMissendenFlyer With regards to the brakes, you say you have to use the rear and the front, when in general would you use just the rear brake in preference to the the front or vice versa?
Well you may use just the rear if you are riding at very slow speeds, filtering or manoeuvring or if you wanted to steady the bike through a corner, the front brake you use pretty much for everything else....
Great review. This is a bike I may very well buy. Glad to see a review on this from you. I've never been a custom fan (I like my Tiger style bikes). But this is lovely.
Another Great Review, It looks Good but not for me as it is still missing a Screen and a Pillion Seat also would be stopping far too often for fuel on route to Austria in September.
Really enjoying your channel mr flyer, a couple of questions for you....1. How would you compare this to the street twin? 2. When will you be reviewing the new street triple?
+Will Black Hi Will - This has far more shove than the Street Twin (I much prefer it), I'll be borrowing/reviewing the new Street Triple next month :0)
I am not a fan of Bobbers or HD's , but Triumph have been clever with this one. modern engine & suspension, the fake carbs work on this style bike even more to me. like you the colour does not work too well. when the T120 came out I could not wait for a test ride which I didn't enjoy, but some how this could one to have another go with the Bonnie engines looks fun in a strange way. Plus side has got to the adjustable seat / clock
+vince halls Hi Vince, good to hear from you again. I didn't think I was a fan of cruisers either until I tried this one, a real hoot! If you get a chance give one a go....all the best - TMF
I'm a great Triumph fan, but sadly not their cruiser range - best left to HD, India and Victory I feel? Very well made though and a great engine coz it's the same as my T120 :-) Regards, Jon.
Hey TMF, wonderful review as always. Love the look of the bike even though it isn't practical for my purposes. Picking up my first bike this month and I live in a country where the price disparity between brands and models are staggering... the BMW r9t, yamaha mt10, Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and 2017 Harley roadster are all within the same price bracket here which makes it really really hard to choose. The Yamaha tracer was on my final list but it's like 1000$ cheaper than the rest so not exactly the value it is else where in the world. Your recommendation would be very very welcome. Yes I know the bikes are in different categories and I am just looking for a machine that makes me smile and will let just let me ride and sadly only Harley's offer test rides here so I am going in blind with the rest. I think it's worth mentioning I am 6ft 1 and weigh around 100kgs.
In Bahrain :) it's a wonderful country but the bike scene is a bit slow here. Harley's are the top sellers here. MT10 is what I have my eye on too but it's not value packed here. It costs more than the BMW! Harley's what's got my vote on customer service.
Handles brilliantly - one of the best, if not the best Bonneville handling wise. You can scrape the pegs but you have to be giving it some...(I never did)...
TMF, the tank seems rather small from what I've read. For decent weekend trips is the time between fill-ups a problem? How many miles can you generally get in backroads + highway riding to a tank?
I was wondering whether you would be testing this one, and will be interested to see your long term review. By coincidence I read a report today which slated seat comfort, although admittedly after 130 miles in one hit. None of the usual cruiser issues with grounding pegs on bends and roundabouts ?
When you say it goes like stink, would you say it would keep up with a sports bike to sort of 70mph? I’ve got an MT10, I know it’s not going to be anything like as fast. Is the torque really that good on this?
Would you recommend this for a first bike? My dad has a gs1250 he tours a lot, I’d imagine I’d be a burden with all the petrol stops! Would this be comfortable for 6 hours riding? I’m really not a touring bike guy, I really love the look of this though
+Mark Lincoln Yep sure am, Triumph are going to let me borrow one for another long term review so looking forward to that (won't be until late May though so stay tuned!).....
Ha Ha thought you'd say that, no i had one as a loan car after my focus st went in for service, and i was very impressed, in relation to my pre conceptions of course. keep up the good work
Choosing between this one and a Nine T, went to that one, and only changed the turning lights put smaller, a few years later, little else would change! This motorcycle is like a Land Rover Defender, the less you modify it, the more beautiful it gets. And it never ceases to be beautiful!
Looks good but heavy, poor brakes and terrible fuel capacity, a little disappointing given the hype. Look forward to your follow up reviews. Thanks for your efforts, it must be great fun to have the opportunity to ride so many different kinds of bikes :-)
Hey I loved this review and the way you rode the bike, looked like fun. I'm wondering since the bike is low, can you take a turn at about 50mph? Not super sharp nor an easy wide turn, something in the middle. I don't see anyone putting their knee down a little and I wonder if the bike can handle it or if they just don't ride in that matter. I know it's not a sports bike but if it can handle turns at that pace man it seems like it can be a keeper.i ask since I've seen a lot of feelers scraping in other vids so I assume leaning more over the bike can help but since it's low I wonder how much it can help. I've considered how I would be able to raise it up a little but idk if that's possible considering its unique suspension
+Nick Pulido I have ridden the bike quite hard and never once scraped the foot peg, I'm told I ride like a girl mind you....great fun bike, thanks for watching - all the best - TMF
Crikey you are a one man reviewing machine at the moment! You'll run out of bikes soon. Time to start on Kawasaki's and Suzuki's to broaden your range.
I'm quite new to riding, I hear you mentioning different types of engines such as parallel twin, inline 4 etc.... what do these all mean? Maybe do a video on it or just reply to this comment! Thanks again TMF!
I've watched like 30 reviews and this is my favourite so far. Cheers man

I went out on one of these, and fell in love with it! oh well another one to add to the list!!
Yeah, they're a lot of fun aren't they...
That's a looker for sure. Not "my" type of thing but man, that looks great!!

+Jamy P The scrambler is booked in after the Street Triple so fun times ahead :0)
I appreciate all types of bikes... it's not what a bike can do, but all about how much fun it is when you use it.
+Glen Whyte Agreed 100%
Seems like Triumph and BMW just keep knocking it out of the park on styling.
I agree!
Love your vids Flyer. That's the coolest Triumph I've ever seen. Wishing you all the best from Canada 😆
+Tim of free thought Thank you :0)

A completely enthralling ride, the bobber. I describe it as a perfect 2nd or 3rd motorcycle, but not an "only" bike.

Jake Croft motorcycle ràcinyrally

Had the opportunity to sit on one today in Frederick Maryland. I love the look of this bike. Had a '78 Bonneville and may need to go for it!
Yeah it is an amazing machine, think you'll love it...sounds epic!
Steven, don't do it. If you had a 78 Bonneville, you're gonna feel like a prat every time you go out on this thing.
Great Video. I LIKE the comments while you are riding. Not a snob, just funny.
Thank you Keith - much appreciated!
When this was first announced I loved the look, but questioned the seat, looks incredible on the road though.
+Eoghan Hennessy ....and the seat is pretty comfy for something that looks so thin...
I love that bike so much. Don't do old school as you know but I'd have one of those in a heartbeat. Triumph need to let me have one on a really long term or permanent loan.

+Jebby Rajan wow no test rides? WTF?? My vote would be the MT10....where in the world are you???
In Bahrain :) it's a wonderful country but the bike scene is a bit slow here. Harley's are the top sellers here. MT10 is what I have my eye on too but it's not value packed here. It costs more than the BMW! Harley's what's got my vote on customer service.
Definitely would not walk past this to buy a HD iron . It looks much better , probably a lot more powerful
What's the Bobber like on cornering? Looks like not much room to lean her over.
Well I only managed about 70 until the light cam on....
Nice bike id get one if the fuel tank was a bit bigger.
I was wondering whether you would be testing this one, and will be interested to see your long term review. By coincidence I read a report today which slated seat comfort, although admittedly after 130 miles in one hit. None of the usual cruiser issues with grounding pegs on bends and roundabouts ?
+Mark Bright No issues at all with the pegs grounding, but then I do ride like a girl...
Does look good though. Will have to try to get a test ride.
When you say it goes like stink, would you say it would keep up with a sports bike to sort of 70mph? I’ve got an MT10, I know it’s not going to be anything like as fast. Is the torque really that good on this?
Yeah I found no lack of power low down....
Would you recommend this for a first bike? My dad has a gs1250 he tours a lot, I’d imagine I’d be a burden with all the petrol stops! Would this be comfortable for 6 hours riding? I’m really not a touring bike guy, I really love the look of this though
No and no....
What a wicked looking motorcycle! Looking forward to getting to know the girl with you, so to speak!
Great video lad.
+Matthew Halsey Thank you Matthew - stay tuned for more on this beast soon!
I'm looking forward it! ;)
Excellent review, are you going to review the Street Scrambler?
+Mark Lincoln Yep sure am, Triumph are going to let me borrow one for another long term review so looking forward to that (won't be until late May though so stay tuned!).....
Thanks mate
Ha Ha thought you'd say that, no i had one as a loan car after my focus st went in for service, and i was very impressed, in relation to my pre conceptions of course. keep up the good work
+Graham Phew! Had me worried there for a moment Graham!
hi love the bike..would it suit a 6ft guy ??
Yes I think it would…
A lovely bike, ideal for riding in town.
And of course modulate the customer's will!
+Sérgio André Yes a real posers machine :0)
Choosing between this one and a Nine T, went to that one, and only changed the turning lights put smaller, a few years later, little else would change! This motorcycle is like a Land Rover Defender, the less you modify it, the more beautiful it gets. And it never ceases to be beautiful!
Another nice review, TMF. Any chance to review the Rocket 3?
Would love too but sadly it's hard to find 'em these days....
Looks good but heavy, poor brakes and terrible fuel capacity, a little disappointing given the hype. Look forward to your follow up reviews. Thanks for your efforts, it must be great fun to have the opportunity to ride so many different kinds of bikes :-)
+Sharp Bends Its one way to spend your time eh? :0)
At 10:00 I had to pause the video and just look at it. Oh !! 😆✌
Love this motorcycle, it truly is a beauty!!
Where are you riding the view is gorgeous??
Yes I agree...and I was riding around and about Buckinghamshire...thanks for watching! - TMF
Is the engine a stressed member here with the Bobber?
+gopinath ramamurthy No I don't think so, it has a unique frame though to make that back end work...thanks for watching - TMF
really great looking bike.
Any plans try the new 250l rally to compare to the old 250l
+Chris Olive Nothing firm at the moment but would like too - its on the radar!
Thanks for the response hmm maybe the people saying you ride like a woman are angry Kia drivers trying to mask their asexuality
Beautiful bike and it sounds amazing
+Aj Pipkin Yes Triumph really have got to grips with the auditory joy of bikes....
The certainly have. I like the scrambler and Street cup as well
the BMW R Nine T would be a competitor in this market space.
PS also the Royal Enfield would be attracting the same type of buyer.
+Richard Neal Yes quite possibly, they all work for me!
Crikey you are a one man reviewing machine at the moment! You'll run out of bikes soon. Time to start on Kawasaki's and Suzuki's to broaden your range.
+Pomoz7 Funny you should say that :0)
I'm 6'2 and 105kg. Is it too small for me? Are the footpegs forward like a cruiser? My understanding is that a bobber is a chopped cruiser.
Yes the foot pegs are forward, best to give one a try, my guess is you'd be OK if the seat was in the rear-most position....
I really dislike cruisers but this bike is very appealing somehow.
I'm quite new to riding, I hear you mentioning different types of engines such as parallel twin, inline 4 etc.... what do these all mean? Maybe do a video on it or just reply to this comment!
Thanks again TMF!
+Anonymous Biker Funnily enough I was thinking about doing just that...stay tuned!
Brilliant I can't wait for that! :)
cool looking bike.....I would call it a retro bar hopper!
+07canuck Yes, agreed!
Love your video, great info. Love that bike also!
Cheers Petteri - thanks for watching....
just subscribed to you after watching hours of you touring on the beamer. absolutely loved the vids. Keep it up.
MORE TOURS MOAR.
+Bike Life Thank you sir! More tours coming soon now that the weather is on the up, stay tuned!
Nice review again mate, but how or who d'you know to get all these rides ??
Ride Safe Baza
+Baza765 Well in the case of Triumph they contacted me and asked if I'd like access to their press fleet - So I said yes :0)
