Thank you Jeff!!!
Watch many of your videos over the past few weeks. I just received my Dewalt DWP611 this morning and have carved my first 2 signs for practice. Wow, thank you so much for all the great info you and your family team are sharing, just awesome !
Thank you so much for watching and all the kind words!!! If I can answer any questions for you just let me know, eric@makeawoodsign.com
Your demonstration videos are most helpful and appreciated. Invaluable information. Thanks!
Thank you Bob!!!!
Great to make up sign to show different bits for future reference
Thank you John, Happy it helps.
Great review. I tend to subscribe to Your Dad's philosophy and lean on the profile bit. You demonstrated what is possible with the other bits. Thank You!
Thank you Bob!!!

You're very welcome Sheila. Please let me know if I can answer any questions for you. Always happy to help, eric@makeawoodsign.com.
Really helpful video. Just got my router set up and am in practice mode. It’s salmon fishing season on the Siletz River on the Oregon coast, so very limited practice time till mid October. My plan is inset designs filled with colored resin. Maybe some lettering to go with the designs. It is good to see your monthly videos of others work to inspire what I like and might try.
That's awesome, man! First of all, I love carving but fishing definitely tops that HAHA. Second, I like your idea of resin filling the lettering. We've done quite a bit of that. Be sure to email some pictures of your work so we can show it off! As always, if you have any questions, you can email me ryan@makeawoodsign.com or dad eric@makeawoodsign.com
Super video again, just a thought, define inset and outset for beginners that might not know the difference as it refers to the techniques or the way you approach the planning and routing. .
Thanks buddy, I'll try to keep that in mind
Great video I'll have to try the inset letters. I really love the look of the outset best and I get tons of compliments and some don't believe its free handed
Outset I think are much more impressive and unique for sure. However there are some customers that prefer inset. Thank you John!!!
As always great information and I have to admit I really can’t wait to try the 8th inch spiral I’m probably going to make an order in the next couple days for a few odds and ends and get that bit
Thank you Charlie!!!
Great demo, thanks
Thank you Martin!!!
Appreciate y’all
Thank you Gary!!!
GREAT BDETAIL AND VISUAL COMPARISONS
Thank you Vernon!!!
Good information. My experience with wide bits like 60° is the deeper the cut the more precise you have to be. The shallower may be a problem with sanding but you have more room for slight errors. The profile bits may require more time to carve but if your line isn't straight, you can come back and straighten it out. If you are experienced and confident enought, go deep and wide. Otherwise i prefer to go deep with a profile or a liner and make several passes taking off material as i go. Slower but my lines come out straighter. Lately my lines are getting better with a 60°
Hi Manuel, you make some good points. Yes much more room for error when using the profile bit for inset letters. However I grew up carving onsite so I had to try everything I could to get faster but still have the quality. Using the 60 accomplishes that perfectly or me. On our new course Ryan and I go into lots of those kind of details and tons more. Thank you for the feedback and for watching!!!
Thanks great info: love to all and God Bless Always.
Thank you Danny!!!
EZ E nice job. Slow down or cut back on the coffee...lol...🤘🤘🤘
LOL, Thanks for the advice Dano!!!
Great video. Who makes that depth gauge? I can’t find it on your website? Also thank you for making the plate for the Milwaukee M18 Router. Maybe it was after I emailed you guys :-) but really I’d like that depth gauge
Thank you Stephen!!! We just recently added the Milwaukee plate. Here's the link to the depth gauge, www.makeawoodsign.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=128
Can you please teach how you got the letters on the wood to begin with? I mean how you use a template and get perfect space between each alphabet. Thx
Hi Meghan, we make and sell what we call layout letters and numbers as well as many supplies. This video shows the process

Hi Eric
We’re did you get your magnifying head set
Got them in our Amazon store. Here's the link amzn.to/464IxMb Thank you ❤
is there a v bit with somewhat of a small flat bottom for inset letters (flag stars v point fot start tips) that allow going around the shape and cleaning the bottom flat with the same bit
We have a small 1/8" spiral upcut bit for small inset letters. However it doesn't have any v groove to it. I always use my v groove bits for points on stars. Then switch to the spiral if I want flat bottom. Hope this make sense. Let me know if you have any other questions, eric@makeawoodsign.com.
@@oldave100 got it...thanks ... your responses are always pretty fast...as is your awesome carving...not new to woodworking and have a nice shop but carving...not so much ..but I'll get there...thanks again
You're very welcome. Happy to help.
How about a 50 degree bit? I think that would be the Goldilocks
We don't use a 50 degree bit because the 60 degree does everything we need it to for that application
With your videos and mainly your 7 step video ( free download ). I feel confident I can graduate from the Dremel to a Router.
Now to either make my own base plate or order one from you.
Thanks for watching Jeff, happy to help. I have seen many of our viewers do very well moving up from a Dremel to the router. If I can answer any specific questions for you let me know, eric@makeawoodsign.com
Hey guys where can I purchase theses router bits please

Yes through our eBay store. Our eBay Store Link: www.ebay.com/usr/oldave100?_trksid=p2047675.l2559
Using UPCUT bits.??? Doesn’t that make tear out on the face of the board?
Actually no. We rarely have tear out. However, it does depend on the board and the sharpness of the bit
I think you need to buy more routers so you could show all your bits!! Thats the excuse you could use to justify getting more! Ha! Ha!
Great idea Jason, I will use that one....
