The way you said "He who must not be named ... Kanye West" was so unintentionally hilarious when you think about that famous video of him from this year.
You were by far my most watched channel of last year and it's been amazing seeing you grow from 10 seconds to 10 minutes worth of content, really excited to see what you have in store for next year and I hope we get to see more gaming and anime reviews too!
I absolutely adore your long form videos. I relate far too much to the struggle of keeping up with a channel and I just wanted to tell you that you are doing great. Just keep talking about the things you love and we will keep supporting you :)
Got so excited to see you mention Cyberpunk: Edgerunners when talking about your favorite shows. One of my favorite things I've ever watched, and a show that had a supremely profound impact on me.
You were one of my jumping off points for diving into music this past year, the first time I heard about some of my favorite albums of 2021 was from your last year-end video. Appreciate your work!
Congrats on the engagement!! And thank you for all the time and effort that you do put into the channel, this is one of those rare gems of a UA-cam channel. One of my favorites!
There's so many albums I missed this year! I loved Kendrick Lamar's. Little Simz's, and Kurt Vile's albums, but I think my favourite was Pre-Pleasure by Julia Jacklin. I thought the quite dreamy production was great and the album flowed really well, so when there are some really big, loud moments, such as the build-up at the end of End of a Friendship or the chorus to Love, Try Not to Let Go, they hit that much harder. She said in an interview that there's a lot of pressure on women to have to tell stories of their lives, and I thought she was fantastic at writing songs that are clearly personal but the emotions are so universal that you really relate to them. Also congratulations on the engagement!
That’s cool to see in your Top 5 TV Shows, three of them are anime..Cyberpunk is amazing btw! Great list for both music/movies. I checked out a good majority on either. EEAO might be my #1 also. I need to get back at Fortnite + play Elden Ring. Congrats on engagement + I agree w/you on the Ye part. Ready for more vids in 2023 🙌🏽
Ruff! First, congrats on the engagement! Here's to a happy 2023 for you both. Second, loved your pick of Edgerunners even if you haven't finished it yet (which you should!) Lastly, no judgement, but did you intend to forget Denzel Curry's MMESYF? I thought it'd be on the list or honorable mention! Much love!
I feel the same way about Honestly, Nevermind; as soon as Falling Back came on I knew this was going to be the Drake record I play all year and it was. Ik it's not for everyone but as someone who was introduced to Drake with Passionfruit and Too Good, I was really, really happy that we got this record because as you said someone in his position didn't need to take the risk and do something that wouldn't be "safe". The Virgil call out in Sticky I thought was done very well
I really appreciate the honestly with those picks, not a lot of reviewers would put Fortnite in their favorite game list or put Her Loss or moreover Honestly Nevermind over something like The Forever Story (I probably wouldn't either lol) but it's great to see hear from people with different opinions and I have to admit I myself come back to Her Loss more than The Forever Story. Also, congratulations on the engagement! Hope everybody has a great year and kanye takes it down a notch.
loved the dive into other media, the more lists the better if you wanted to check out more music from 2022, i'd recommend Hatchie's Giving the World Away, kinda similar to Blue Rev and Beatopia
Love your content, despite not liking fortnite I’d love to hear you talking about it. Also I have a weird feeling you might like the video game outer wilds. It’s really a story that pushes the video game median to its fullest to tell a really unique story.
@@ruffcriminal also this is unrelated but like i would love to see your thoughts on phil elverum's work. i have a feeling you may rly like the glow pt 2 by him (aka my pfp). it's hard to describe it other than a weird mixture between noise rock and folk, but like i'd say it somewhat gives similar vibes to in the aeroplane over the sea and for emma, forever ago while feeling entirely unique in it's own right.
Really hoping we get more longform content in the new year, it's just nice hearing you talk about things for longer than 10 seconds maybe you should start with a Fortnite video 👀
My top 10 films of 2022: 10. Weird The Al Yankovic Story 9. NOPE 8. Violent Night 7. Spirited 6. The Paloni Show Halloween Special 5. Marcel The Shell With Shoes On 4. Brian And Charles 3. Bullet Train 2. Vengeance 1. Everything Everywhere All At Once My best albums list: 10. Ants From Up There by Black Country New Road. 9. Maybe In Another Life...by Easy Life 8. The Joy Of Music by Ben Rector. 7. The Occasion by The Astronomers. 6. The Forever Story by JID. 5. Vinyl Days by Logic. 4. (watch my moves) by Kurt Vile. 3. WHO CARES? by Rex Orange County. 2. In Case I Make It by Will Wood. 1. World Wide Pop by Superorganism.
Big fan brother your contact is very special, but can you please do reactions to the the legendary rock albums from elvis, the 60s the 70 and the 80s maybe some of the 90s if you can
gonna write my thoughts as I watch * JID at merely an honorable mention is a bold take but there was so much good music this year that I respect it. I respectfully disagree (he was in my top 3), but I respect it all the same. * Same for NO THANK YOU, though that one barely squeaked into my top 10. * Cry Sugar album cover is still deeply cursed. Also, fun fact, Toasty Digital had that shit as his #2 AOTY. * Number fifteen, can I get a number fifteen? * Toasty had Sick! in his top 10, and with you putting it in your top 15... it's a very good album, but idk if I'd put it that high, it didn't even crack my top 30 * Her Loss felt a bit too long and bloated to crack my top 25, we needed less Drake and more 21 * lmao Push right next to Drake feels accidental but it's kinda funny either way. It's Almost Dry was my AOTY on release and then just tumbled down as more good shit dropped, it somehow barely missed the top 10 but that's because there were like 12 top 10 level albums this year * 10 was my #12, and I agree with you on everything, it checks all the boxes, but it doesn't quite have that _it_ factor as much as the other albums I ranked above it imo * Mr. Morale was my #9... I'm seeing a pattern lmao * where the fuck is Melt My Eyez, See Your Future? * Isn't it crazy that the best 2 mainline Pokemon games since 2012 both came out in the same year? Legends was a super refreshing experimental title, and Scarlet & Violet proved that the strides taken by Legends can kickstart the existing formula (also the SV story is so GOOD you guys) * S/V's lack of polish feels like a result of Game Freak being forced to rush it out of the gate, but what that game lacks in polish it makes up for in spades with heart. Might lowkey end up my favorite Pokemon game given enough time, which is crazy to think about considering how before Legends I was utterly convinced they would never make a game even remotely close to the level of Gen 5 again
My favorite albums: - Carly Rae Jensen, “The Loneliest Time” - Arctic Monkeys, “The Car” - Zella Day, “Sunday In Heaven” - Weyes Blood, “And In The Darkness, Hearts Aglow” - The Pretty Reckless, “Other Worlds” AOTY: Florence + The Machine, “Dance Fever”
haha I want to see a fortnite video that would be great, especially if its something you want to do! Or you could consider starting another channel where you do that stuff too. Also congrats on the engagement!
@@ruffcriminal hell yeah! Great lineup! I saw them with a band called Slowpulp which I highly highly reccomend if you haven't heard them yet. The album moveys is quite good
The way you said "He who must not be named ... Kanye West" was so unintentionally hilarious when you think about that famous video of him from this year.
Finally someone doing their list at the appropriate time lol
fr all these people doing best of the year lists in fuckin November
I can’t believe the world started 23 years ago time flies!
20 minutes and 23 seconds*
You were by far my most watched channel of last year and it's been amazing seeing you grow from 10 seconds to 10 minutes worth of content, really excited to see what you have in store for next year and I hope we get to see more gaming and anime reviews too!
93.2 videos in a row, it’s a non-holiday miracle
Very much liking you branching out to other art forms! And as a big FromSoft fan, obviously very happy about Elden Ring!
so crazy that nobody is talking about the backseat lover's record. absolutely blew me away and was my favourite of 2022 by a surprising margin.
The forever story honourable mention?? Damn
Overrated

Ooo Ruff, you always have great taste in music to my eyes, but your FILM takes... ooo, oh, so BASED.
Your tv show & video game takes were also BASED.
So much great art was created and enjoyed this past year; thank you for sharing your favorites. :)
This is the most unique list I've seen so far and has given me what I look for in these videos, new music to listen to!!!!
Congrats on getting engaged! Your music taste and reviews are honestly god-tier bro, thanks for the vids this year.
i have no idea why but you're definitely one of my favourite youtubers
keep it up if you can and i really don't mind the irregular update schedule 😊

seeing Vinyl Days and Bullet Train in here made me happy. Both of those are two great things and people ought to talk about them more.
I fell sick at the beginning of this year and demolished death stranding as it had been recc'd to me and honestly if u haven't you gotta
I honestly think your long form videos are genuinely really, really good and I'd be more than interested in that Fortnite video.
Big fan brother your contact is very special, but can you please do reactions to the the legendary rock albums from elvis, the 60s the 70 and the 80s maybe some of the 90s if you can
love your content, but I can't deny how sad I was Midnights and Honestly, Nevermind made it to the cut and freaking Dawn FM wasn't on the list 😭
loved the video ruff ❤ not a fan of skinty fia?
