Karsten still avoiding Better Call Saul at any costs I see
wait is he actually avoiding it? assuming he is just busy or something but choosing other TV shows over BCS blows my mind. How does a diehard BB fan choose to not watch it's accompanying show which is pretty easily the greatest spinoff/prequel of all time
Clearly too afraid hes gonna like it more than bb (he should)
@@gabishelbows101 agreed, it doesnt make any sense
I hope he makes a long-form video about it. The fact that Breaking Bad is what made this channel, combined with the fact that BCS is potentially even better written/acted/edited than BB (with the greatest cinematography on TV) - makes me think it'll even exceed his high expectations
@@Good4Josh Not to sound like some pretentious fuckhead but i genuinely believe bcs is the better show by a mile, vince and peter clearly learned from their 6 years working on breaking bad, ironed out all the issues and made an insanely in depth show about a goofy side character created to provide some comedic relief to the darker parts of the show.
The fact that 2023 started with a film as insane as Cocaine Bear is a sign that this is the greatest cinema year of all time.
Well, it sucked so I beg to differ
I wholeheartedly agree! 😸
@@poliduck5393 I think its inspiring to get batshit crazy movies again, regardless of quality 😊
@@Deareck batshit crazy movies can be good
No. Just no
One of my favorite things about Superbad is how timeless it is. The humor doesn't rely on references, and the 70's kind of vibe and soundtrack makes the setting somewhat ambiguous and very rewatchable.
Ah yes, another month of Karsten not watching Puss in Boots the last wish
I’m waiting for it🤞
Honestly can’t believe he was so confident in thinking Guillermo del Toro was an ez win for an Oscar
@@idiot1902 still is an easy win, puss in boots is great but it has no chance

February was a hard month for me for the same reason, losing a childhood pup. She was 15 years old and we've had her since I was a kid. I hope your pup lived a good life Karsten. ♥️
So sorry for your loss 🙏💛

I Hope Everything Will be okay Soon. This content helps a lot of us out through hard times, thank you for what you do.
I saw Jordan Peele’s Nope on an airplane to Austin Texas and I cannot stop thinking about it, especially the Gordy and Lucky scenes! And then I watch Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and was wonderfully surprised by how amazing it was! Also watched Knock At The Cabin and it was not good haha
I LOVED Last Wish. Honestly up there as one of the top 3 DreamWorks movies. And this is coming from someone who loved watching the first two Shrek movies when he was little. Last Wish to me, makes them look like Shrek the Third in comparison.
did u feel like looking out through the windows to find a ufo
My pups recently passed two months apart. I feel you Karsten. Also I’m an extra in the show Poker Face, glad you are watching it.
Cool, which episode
@@JakeGottfriedStudios the rock n roll show. I am up in the balcony and I am behind Benjamin Bratt when he is pushing through the crowd.
Sorry about your puppies man, losing pets is devastating
So happy to hear the appreciation for Cooper’a A Star is Born. One of my favorite films ever.
One of mine as well. The chemistry between the leads is as good as it gets. Great performances.
Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Blow Out for this month, my favorite Travolta movie ez
Brian de palma 😎
I will say personally, I enjoyed the comedy in You People, as someone who comes from a mixed/split family, one side being white, the other black. It felt accurate up until that last minute wedding 🥴 I also just watched Aftersun and wow. Talk about depressingly moving. It exhausts the heart almost. First few impressions was confusion and then once I sat with the movie an hour after watching, I understood. The flickering scenes in the rave were so brilliantly done. A testament to the memory and heart.
You never disappoint with these
I'm happy you're watching Poker Face it's probably the most fun I've had watching any TV show recently
ASIB is one of the few movies where I cry harder at the ending each time I rewatch it

Stacey (actress who played the mom in Superbad) worked with me for a number of years at Trader Joe’s and she’s one of the best people ever
Call Me Chihiro was a standout for me this month! Such a special sleeper that’s on Netflix just hanging out 👍🏾
These videos always give me a time crisis with how frequent they feel & yet they are a month apart
Ace in the Hole is one of those little movies that, once you find it, you wonder where it’s been all your life. It’s up there with Sweet Smell of Success and A Face in the Crowd as being masterpieces that have been forgotten by most but cherished by those who have seen them.
Also, Cronenberg’s Crash might be the best Cronenberg movie, but it feels wrong to call it my favorite because of how gross it makes you feel.
Movies:
Knock at the Cabin
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
Shows: Last of Us Episodes 4-7 (Love it)
Anime/Cartoons:
Naruto: Shippuden..3 seasons
Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur Eps 1-6
Proud Family Louder & Prouder S2
Batman: The Animated Series (some episodes)
My February cinema visits:
*Puss in Boots: The Last Wish* (4.5/5): Yes it’s terrific. Yes, Disney should learn from this if they want to survive the animation industry. Yes, Death is a scary villain. What else is there to say?
*Knock at the Cabin* (2.5/5): This is my second Shymalan film and it’s decent but forgettable. The other was The Last Airbender so I’ll take decent but forgettable!
*Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania* (2/5): As an Ant-Man and the Wasp apologist, this stung (Ba-dum tish). I liked the design of the quantum realm and at least Paul Rudd and Jonathan Majors look like they’re having fun but the rest is bland and lacking in any coherent character arcs or themes.
You NEED to watch Lady In The Water. It's amazingly terrible!
Unbreakable and The Sixth Sense are actually good movies to check out.
Bruuuhhhh watch more shyamalan, even some of the bad ones can be enjoyable to select people lol
I actually love Last Airbender and I think Lady in the Water is good.

Thank you Karsten very cool video
Been rewatching Arrested Development at home, saw Knock at the Cabin, 80 for Brady, and Antman in theaters
If you think that Knock at the Cabin squeezed everything it could out of the premise PLEASE consider reading the original novel by Paul Tremblay called Cabin at the End of the World. I promise the premise had more juice to be squeezed!

The Villainess, Sing Street, The Place Beyond the Pines. Are some great films. I can remember watching The Place Beyond The Pines when it first came out and everybody was comparing it to Drive because of Ryan Gosling

I’m sorry for the loss of your childhood pet. My childhood pet passed away this month as well. I agree that it impacted what movies I watched this past month too.
You should watch the most awarded spanish movie of the year, As Bestas. You're gonna love it for sure!
I’m sorry about your pup. I hope they had a lovely life.
I'm so happy you love a star is born!
Another amazing Lucio Fulci film is The Beyond (1981). The gore is amazing! the cinematography, lighting and score are some of the best i'v seen.
I also watched ace in the hole last month or maybe January but it was great, billy wilder is a genius.
Watching this video right as I'm heading for a screening of EO feels quite foreboding.
Keep up the good work
Kung Fu Panda is a great way to start the month

ace in the hole is incredible, so underrated
It’s nice to hear someone actually watches polish arthouse film about a donkey! Love from Warsaw 💚
karsten!! u NEED to watch the barbra striesand a star is born if u haven’t seen it it is SO CRAZY
I started the month with rewatches of Black Adam and Wakanda Forever. My opinions haven't changed on either, Black Adam is a dumb fun comic book movie, Wakanda Forever is one of Marvel's best.
Next I watched The Bad Guys. I really should've watched that one sooner, I loved it. I feel like it deserves a bit of the credit Puss in Boots is getting as far as animation, it also has really good stylized animation but it seems like no one really talked about it.
Next I watched Ant Man and the Wasp Quantumania. Solid B tier MCU movie. I like all MCU movies so of course I liked it. I was a bit worried about Modok going in, as I had his backstory spoiled and it is very different than what I know the character as, but I thought he was pretty good. They could've made his face more wrinkled but whatever.
Last, I watched The Prestige. Incredible movie, wish I had heard about it before.
As far as shows go, I've kept up with The Last of Us, which is still incredible, no complaints about last month's episodes.
I forget if I actually watched any more episodes of Poker Face last month (edit- I checked, I did watch episode 3 very early in the month, good episode). I've really enjoyed what I've watched, and I fully intend on finishing it at some point. My spring break is next week for some reason, maybe I'll get caught up while I'm off
Tempted to watch poker face just for the John Darnielle cameo
@Dylqn55
Don't get me wrong I love Superhero movie, The Dark Knight Trilogy, The Batman, The first Two X-Men, Sam Raimi's Spider- Man Trilogy, I even think Watchmen is undeterred and one day will be more appropriate, But if you can honestly say Wakanda Forever is " One of Marvel's best " and that Quantumania is "Solid B Tier" You really need to Broaden Your Horizons when it comes to the films you are watching I can't lie I have been entertained by the MCU in the past but none of their output can compare to the films I have listed above. You said you watched the The Prestige and that's a great place to start when it comes to Broadening Your Horizons. Cinema is a journey of discovery and if you leave behind Marvel you'll have a much more rewarding experience
@@joekerry741 I have watched quite a bit beyond the MCU, and I really like a lot of the films I've seen, but the MCU is exactly what I will always enjoy. There's no reason for me to leave it behind, because I'm still having fun, and I do still watch other stuff. Also, I do agree that most of what you mentioned is better than most of the MCU. The Batman was my favorite film of last year. I'm personally not the biggest fan of Spider-Man 1 and I think 2 could be paced a bit better, but I completely get why people love them. There's plently of "proper" films I enjoy, I just also like watching comic book stuff with my dumb (20 year old) kid brain
Gosh, I wish I had the time and energy for this. It's kind of a vibe. How much time do you spend watching things per day?

I watched "Sharp Objects" (2018) and was very impressed...also watched "Perry Mason" (2020) and was also impressed with that, both very different from one another but very good.
ASIB (2018)'s ending is just phenomenal. It was such a compettivie year at the Oscars, but they both would've been deserving winners.
You should check out some British social realist films. Ken Loach is the king of them so I, Daniel Blake is definitely one you should check out although it’s heartbreaking. Sorry We Missed You is one which will have more in common with America as it’s an issue that crosses over. Burning Point with Stephen Graham is a one shot film which is also great and very hectic

I have a hard time sitting down to watch movies on my own, but halfway through February i moved in with my friend and we watched:
Pearl - it was fine. felt a bit all over the place for me, her final monologue was well written and hit home, but generally meh?
The devil wears Prada- turns out my friend never saw it, so we had to do it. Heartwarming as always. We're in a non english speaking country and I have a thing for local 00s dubs- you can hear some of the original in the background and it's always a little amateur sounding, but oh so nostalgic.
Midsommar- Planned to watch it since it came out but just came around. Very nice. Fascinating traditions in that village. Cool gore.
Seven psychopaths - Once again showing a movie I love to my friend. Still so great.
Watched Last of Us too. Thought it was just fine. Had an argument with a film school friend who thought it was horrendous. Lol, OG game fans are very dramatic about it.
