But because she didn't and even protected him from Armin unconsciously, now he'll resent her even more because he knows that her acts of caring and protection was designed into her blood. I swear to god Eremika was one of the most obvious things ever, you have to be blind to not realize Eren was in love with Mikasa. Like freaking watch the "I'll wrap that scarf around you. Now and forever." scene in the anime. The world literally brightens up in Eren's POV because Mikasa was letting him know how much she appreciated him and how big of an impact he had in her life. Such a horrifying situation turned beautiful in that one scene and it gave Eren the motivation to stand up again and punch a titan, not even knowing about the results of doing that, because he wants to protect Mikasa and be with her, hence "forever". Seeing the look of longing on Eren's face upon seeing Armin's face light up in wonderment at finally getting to see a volcano got me real good, just wanted to show his best friend something he always wanted to see before he died.
