Brian Wampler never put out a pedal that is less than glorious. It is nice to see him cameo here, and the player makes you want to pick up your axe. Good one, Sweetware!
I’ve used many a drive pedal. This one is unique for sure. Hard to compare to other drives I own, the closest thing I can compare it to is my Marshall JCM 800. The Wampler plexi deluxe can go from clean sparkle to overdrive to distortion. It sounds great with both my Strat and my Les Paul, different tones and nuances to be had. The plexi deluxe has a tubescreamer built in to boost the plexi side as you would with a tubescreamer into a Marshall. It’s unlike any other drives I own. I know that’s not super helpful, but it’s the best comparison I can tell you from experience.
Awesome pedal, just like a Marshall amp and for cutting through the mix in a band situation hit the Mids switch to the right. I am really impressed with this pedal.
My plexi mini turned my deluxe reverb into a.....wait for it ! A Plexi Fender !🎸 this pedal puts out Great Plexi tone that feels like an amp and not a pedal.
Is that a Wampler Mini Plexi in your pocket or re you just happy to see me? Yes I keep thus in my board and use it sparingly, and when I do stomp on it I'm always delighted. It's like wow is that me playing? and when I toggle the mini switches, they do exactly what Brian says.
I doubled the intro and outro solos for a Randy Rhoads inspired vibe… no pedals aside from from the Wampler Mini Plexi-Drive were harmed during the making of this video - just a tad of Reverb from the Boss Katana amp I was using on a clean setting used throughout (as demoed during the video as "the amp sound"). Hope this info helps... Nick
@@sweetwater - So because of this video I bought the Wampler plexi drive and the Mimiq Doubler pedal. Where the heck in the pedal chain does the doubler go?
While this is really good demo & the plexi drives do sound good, I prefer the LPD Sixty8 & Sixty8 Deluxe. It just sounds better to my ear. If I didn’t have my Sixty8 then I would get a plexi drive.
I wanted to comment on the audio quality. The distorted guitar sounds very muffled. Too mid scooped and too dark. Maybe it’s the load box? Could be the IR he is using? It sounds... off. Too digital I guess. It doesn’t reflect the real sound in the demos. I’ve noticed this in a few of Nick’s videos. 🤔

I could listen to Nick talk and play all day, what a cool and joyful dude.
Glad to see the Plexi Drive making a comeback. One of their best pedals IMO.
That Les Paul + the Plexi Drive is a match made in heaven

You didn't need to demo this past 5:14 - that's all I needed to know!
Woah! This little pedal sounds massive!
This same guy has an awesome video of him showing off a vintage plexi it’s fantastic
Sounds Awesome ! Great demo Nick and company🤘
I own the plexi drive deluxe. It’s one of my favourite pedals and it’s on my board. I’d highly recommend any plexi pedal Wampler offers.
What other drive pedals have you used? What would you compare this pedal to?

Nice Paul I'm a Lefty 2 nice sounding pedal
Good stuff!
This one or Suhr Riot Mini ?
What other pedal or pedals were used in this video? Was that a doubler?

Fantastic
Boston Band; Tom Schooltz Sound I love it. A replica Sounds of the pedal it could be nice
How does he play his guitar backwards like that?
Gimme an OCD any day. Good luck 😃

Nice, but my old sansamp can do it all.
