Cell's greatest flaw was how overwhelmingly dominant the Frost Demon and Saiyan DNA were in his genetic composition. If the Earthling/Namekian DNA were more proportional to balance out his worst impulses, he might've been another Vegeta.

Cell was a phenomenal villain. I love how they took their time with him, showcasing his powers, and building up to the moment he'd take on everybody. It made the battle with Goku and Gohan that much better.
For me, the show peaked with the Cell Games. It was just great. After that I feel it got a little too silly with the endless power creep - still enjoyable though.

Cell will always go down as one of my favorite villains in all of DBZ history. For basically being a juiced up super warrior with both evil and decent DNA along with a couple of androids in his stomach, he was a pretty down to Earth guy.

Anyone wanna talk about how insane it would've been if Cell actually TRAINED for the 10 days prior to the tournament (well not counting the time he took to make a T.V. appearance, build the ring and eliminate the army that arrived to try to kill the bug man)? Namely because he decided to hold a tournament to prove to himself, and to everybody else that he's the best, which is much more of a Goku thing than a Vegeta thing. Especially since it gave the Z-Fighters time to train and prepare for the final battle, whereas somebody like Vegeta would be more inclined to not give his enemies that chance.
He was more than happy to save the Earth if it meant that he would continue to have his fun… especially since he was well aware that he could do so much worse to the world and its inhabitants all by himself.

It takes all types. Dragonball had every kind of villain from the saturday morning villain of Pilaf to the " join me brother" Raditz style villain. The ruler of an empire frieza. The ( prove I'm stronger Cell) the I want revnege super genius , Dr Gero. And even the unleashed destroyer Majin Buu. The series really had a wide variety of villain types.
Cell is pretty bad. There is zero reason for him to even be a villain once he becomes perfect. He could just have fun fighting the Z-warriors and then leave and explore the universe, then come back to fight again if he is bored and see how strong they have become. He would've been an excellent True Neutral character. Frieza and King Piccolo were Lawful Evil, using their own systems to exploit and rule the population. Buu is a bit more layered as every form of his has a different personality. Like Fat Buu didn't even know that he was doing bad things until Mr. Satan told him and then he just stopped, making him more Chaotic Neutral, while Super Buu just wanted to fight a good challenger, a bit like Cell and Kid Buu was the only Chaotic Evil character in the manga (movies added a few more like Janemba or Broly).

I think he had more potential to be a good guy, because he didn't want just destruction like Buu or anything material like Frieza. He had mentioned he just wanted fun, and he was kind of obsessed with fear. But he could be reasoned with more easily than Frieza and Buu. He mostly just wanted legitimate challenges.
Facts. Same with Majin Buus Thems by Bruce Falconur being 100x better than the more recent Kai version. The evil circus like theme fits Majin Buu so well.
Bruce falconer made alot of memorable tracks, but cells theme is by far his best imo I just cant bring myself to watch kai even though DBZ is TERRIBLY paced just because i know id miss out on those OSTs

This is what makes some DBZ villains so special even without all the fancy complex writing and personalities that some people look for today. They just have such an intimidating moxie that it makes it really hard to hate them, and coincidentally enough Cell is my favorite.

Cell will always go down as one of my favorite villains in all of DBZ history. For basically being a juiced up super warrior with both evil and decent DNA along with a couple of androids in his stomach, he was a pretty down to Earth guy.

They could of just brought him back by making a new body for Cell using preserved DNAs (like a piece from him that was blown off from Goku or Gohan’s Kamehameha) from his battle in the Cell game, but then upon awakening, the old Cell took over the new Cell and boom, Cell’s back in a way like how Galvatron was in TF4.

0:03 The Funi soundtrack did an excellent job giving villains theme songs, Cell’s music is literally his character coming to life. 0:49 this scene here captures a very underrated aspect of Cell, while he is essentially a monster created to terminate life on Earth, he still possesses the competitive and fiery passion for winning that Goku and Vegeta both possess.

@@des6801 I'd say he's more like Goku than Vegeta, at least once he achieved his perfect form. Namely because he decided to hold a tournament to prove to himself, and to everybody else that he's the best, which is much more of a Goku thing than a Vegeta thing. Especially since it gave the Z-Fighters time to train and prepare for the final battle, whereas somebody like Vegeta would be more inclined to not give his enemies that chance.
He was more than happy to save the Earth if it meant that he would continue to have his fun… especially since he was well aware that he could do so much worse to the world and its inhabitants all by himself.

It takes all types. Dragonball had every kind of villain from the saturday morning villain of Pilaf to the " join me brother" Raditz style villain. The ruler of an empire frieza. The ( prove I'm stronger Cell) the I want revnege super genius , Dr Gero. And even the unleashed destroyer Majin Buu. The series really had a wide variety of villain types.
Cell is pretty bad. There is zero reason for him to even be a villain once he becomes perfect. He could just have fun fighting the Z-warriors and then leave and explore the universe, then come back to fight again if he is bored and see how strong they have become. He would've been an excellent True Neutral character. Frieza and King Piccolo were Lawful Evil, using their own systems to exploit and rule the population.
Buu is a bit more layered as every form of his has a different personality. Like Fat Buu didn't even know that he was doing bad things until Mr. Satan told him and then he just stopped, making him more Chaotic Neutral, while Super Buu just wanted to fight a good challenger, a bit like Cell and Kid Buu was the only Chaotic Evil character in the manga (movies added a few more like Janemba or Broly).
I hope you guys didnt forget that cell absorbed thousands if not hundreds of humans in his first form to gain power levels

I think he had more potential to be a good guy, because he didn't want just destruction like Buu or anything material like Frieza. He had mentioned he just wanted fun, and he was kind of obsessed with fear. But he could be reasoned with more easily than Frieza and Buu. He mostly just wanted legitimate challenges.
