I feel like cell could possibly be one of the most strongest characters in dragon ball, the fact he can get zenkais mixed with his regeneration is insane!
I mean, Cell could literally just sit and meditate in Kaio Ken past his limits. He'd be constantly shredding and rebuilding his body. Passive Zenkai via meditation. He could literally just sit for however long he wanted and power up indefinitely.
@@ericj6636 Starts fights still in Kaio-Ken, just powers himself down until he's base strength, slowly lets it build back up throughout the fight, ends fight with Kaio-Ken still active, rinse and repeat. XD
I’m pretty sure zenkais don’t activate if said character damages themself, for example kaioken technically is self damaging and thus would not give a zenkai.

In my opinion, Cell has a bit of Frieza in him. If he sees Frieza going Golden, that's when Cell can say "anything you can do, I can do better" and just DOES IT.
Well I believe he was designed to only have 2 forms which is 2nd Form & Perfect Form, that’s my opinion. If he would get a new form then idk if he get’s revived and was then expiremented (misspelling) by a scientist, get’s a new form from the scientist using a droid to gain more DNA of the current cast and upgrade Cell to be above everyone and Perfect Cell may get a new form that could have similarites (misspelling).
@@75JUNAKI I mean, he did acquire his own version of Super Saiyan 2 in the form of Super Perfect Cell. And he did use Super Saiyan Grade 3 (the big muscle form that's nearly on-par with Super Saiyan 2 in power but completely kills the user's speed) on two occasions. That being said, Cell's transformations outside of his main forms seem far less pronounced than they are for the fighters he got those forms from and most of the time simply manifest in a change in his aura.
This actually fits with Cell's canon personality- he's possibly the one villain who (after reaching his perfection, at least) least wanted to actually kill and destroy. They were two actions he just took for granted as part of the deal- his true motivation was always to prove himself better.
Except that's literally not true. Cell is a sadistic bully who actively wants to destroy the world for fun. There's no honor in his self improvement, and he's a gleeful cheater as well as a childish looser.
Cell: I now challenge you to fight me, Gohan. Gohan: *Explains he doesn't like fighting and that he may lose his anger and warns Cell he might end up killing him and he doesn't want that* Cell: Well now I'm not doing it.
I can already imagine the intro and I love it. "Cell, a being with the potential of most of the Z-fighters, and the strength to back it up. But what if he turned good?"
I can see that, but Cell had Dr. Gero in his head for his entire developing life, basically hard coding him to be a doomsday bringer. @ least Frieza was just a normal tyrant, not a science project. He's a bit more mentally malleable, I suppose.
@@alban4220 I think Cell genuinely did respect Gero for creating him and making his vision of an ultimate lifeform a reality. A number of these lines may be anime-only, but I prefer the idea of Cell being the only Artificial Human(with free will) to genuinely appreciate his origin. Cell saying "Doctor Gero-sama" when imitating 17 is the major giveaway it's him speaking and not 17 for instance.
I like to imagine part of the Cell vs Dabrua fight involves cell being hit by the petrifying spit, but swiftly amputating the effected limb only to regenerate and counter attack.
I feel like Cell probably would have removed the androids at some point. The risk of unexpectedly losing them in the middle of a battle would be an unnecessary weakness.
the fact that Cell just fucking kills frieza twice is honestly the most "no fucks given" attitude/flex I've ever seen...and this is coming from a huge freiza fan.
To be fair, outside of his Imperfect Form, he didn't really go out of his way to kill people he didn't need to. Even when he blew up those islands in his Semi-Perfect form was just an attempt to rat-out 18 (or lose her in the process). And once he reached his Perfect Form he only cared about THE Fight to fully test his might. If it weren't for Frieza's DNA, I'd say Cell had more going for him to turn Good.

@@mwperk02 This is actually explained in the cell arc. They forgot over time. They actually forgot near the middle of the arc, but hearing his voice in the Buu arc does trigger their memory of who he is during the spirit bomb charge.
and yeah, not to mentioned that when Vegeta and Nappa invaded earth for the dragon ball, Nappa killed all the witnesses and after Nappa was killed, Vegeta was at planet Namek to confront Frieza and after he was sent to earth Vegeta went back to space looking for goku after he found out that he was still alive when killing frieza and after those years the earth was peaceful for couple years that they have forgotten about Vegeta and also not to mention that when goku became a father he stopped participating in tournaments for so many years that only the referee remembered Goku and Piccolo, and Piccolo changed his name to Majunior to avoid panic for those who rememebers the Piccolo's name since he's a Namek and doesn't look like human at all compare to the sayians
@@rydrake9509 Yep. Piccolo used an alias to avoid an unnecessary mass-panic. But realistically, he *might* still have been able to get by simply by explaining that he was the "son" of the "evil" Piccolo, but that he doesn't intend to ever follow in his "father's" footsteps (this, admittedly might have made some people nervous, but they might have given him the benefit of the doubt, especially if it was made known that the same guy who defeated the original King Piccolo was also there and could still step in if needed), and that he's only there to compete and "have fun" while doing so. But the alias simply made things easier, and people, if they even remembered Demon King Piccolo by that point (considering the two idiots who thought Piccolo was ill because he "was looking a little green"), might simply have figured that Piccolo simply belonged to the same race as Demon King Piccolo, but otherwise had no direct connection to him.
It would be great just to see his banter and trash talks with Gohan, more so the backs and forths with Frieza 😆 it would be commentary gold, a dynamic duo.
nope in fact, he's the most evil villain out of all the DBZ. Vegeta came for the Dragonballs, Frieza was taking revenge on Vegeta for taking his wish and interrupting his plans, Buu was just created for destruction, Cell was strongest being his time and that wasn't enough for him. kills Trunks to go back in time, absorbs the Androids, wasn't enough and just creates terror and alarming for the thrills of it. When Gohan surpasses him he freaks out and tries to blow everybody up with him, he's for sure the most selfish villain

While I certainly do not dislike the MasakoX interpretation of this premise, I think I prefer this one. I really like how the original smug and intimidating Cell acts as an ally to the Z-fighters. Cell's interactions with the Z-fighters do come over as how the original would act if he mellowed out a little bit. His purpose in life was trying to prove he was the perfect life form. And since his Saiyan DNA always causes him to look for a new challenge. So it is only natural he would want to fight Goku and/or Vegeta when they are at their best. The only small gripe I have with this story is how Cell simply stops the Cell Games after Gohan refuses to fight him. It would be a bit more realistic if he tries to push Gohan a little bit, but realizes the boy really does not want to fight. Another small oversight in this timeline is that Android 16 could very well be alive, as Cell destroyed him in the original timeline in order to provoke Gohan. But other than that, it was a really entertaining story.
The only cost of Cell turning good is that Krillin doesn't marry Android 18, and we don't get the park ranger, and I'm a little bit more upset about the park ranger
I knew this would be great from the thumbnail😄🤝🏻😄MasakoX tells wonderful stories, especially his Radditz & Gine ones being his best. However on this Carthu absolutely has the better Cell. Becoming the smug, arrogant anti - hero was "perfect", this was like a more trollish Cell from DBFZ roasting everything in sight😎. You can tell Carthu enjoyed this, he channeled Cell so well. I wish Akira Toriyama took Cell down this path, hopefully it's not too late?
I do the same thing whilst playing as Super Baby 2 in Xenoverse. I mean if they brought back his planet and he agreed to work with them. He would still have his traits but less of the vengefulness. Goku becomes allies with most aggressive characters. Look at Tien.
Wait a minute... Since the initial fight between Gohan and Cell didn't escalate, wouldn't that mean Android 16 is still alive? Apart from that I enjoyed this!
Green and red are complimentary colors and thus always flow together. His face already has another: yellow and purple, and the white and black on his upper body, making a red aura and eyes absolutely stunning on him
I think he softened up a bit, kind of like Piccolo but more like Vegeta. He can still seem mean but if he's pure enough to be part of the SSG ritual then he should be good enough.
I mean, Goku's not really "good" either. He's not a hero, just some dude who really loves to fight. It's a simple coincidence that most of his fighting ends up putting him in heroic positions.
@@Utopiaworld24 Completely false, Goku has stated numerous times that a big reason in why he fights is to protect the innocent, it was literally his hero speach when unlocking super saiyan against Frieza. Eat well, fight well, sleep well, live well. That's the way of the Turtle School and that's all Goku is looking for.
Dont know what to expect. Except that cell would be a great training partner and the thumbnail goes to show he gets some god ki, so excited to see how that happens.
Cell is indeed the perfect being. He has huge Zenkai boosts, top tier regeneration, he can use kaio ken without the huge toll on the body that causes due to his regeneration. He can use all of the heroes and friezas techniques. He can potentially go golden. He also is very knowledgeable as a fighter and just so you remember. Cell is not a regular fighter, he is a martial artist master because of Goku's cells. He does not need God ki if he can get stronger infinitely
It’s possible the stress of the Kaio-ken counts as self harm and therefore wouldn’t allow the person to be granted a zen Kai boost even if cell has saiyan biology. Then again DB is incredibly inconsistent so take my comment with a grain of salt.
I don't think Cell would've given them an extra day to train just because Gohan was hesitant to fight. Cell gave em like 10 days or something to train shortly after he reached his perfect form, one of which was spent in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. How much more training could Cell possibly expect from Gohan in order to get that Perfect Battle he wanted if not on that same day?
When you realize that cell has the ability to get stronger through injury because of the saiyans, regenerate, and friezas ability to get extremely powerful through easier training you realize how big a threat cell would be if he trained.
missing teammates? no problem (TFS ref.) Cell: "Behold My Childreeeeeen:" "Norio, Dameon, Travis, Curtis, Dale and Jonathan".. oh and of course Vegeta Junior Junior"
I like how you didn’t make him have a cheesy redemption arc where he becomes some sweetheart, but instead made him an antihero, where he doesn’t care if the good guys win, he just wants to get stronger and fight more powerful opponents, and as long as he is entertained, the Z Fighters get their way of peace.
I think that is a sensible idea, but it's also at least have of the premise for Beerus in Dragon Ball Super already. Beerus only refrains from destroying Goku's word because he is entertained.
@@stevendorsey4850 And also because he likes Earth's food. :P But yeah, I think even Beerus & Whis would be intrigued by Cell's seemingly limitless potential and his ability to just keep growing stronger, while also being tough enough (thanks to his regeneration) to survive hits that not even a Saiyan or Namekian could survive. Cell's arrogant personality however would probably irritate Beerus if Cell refused to be "humbled" at all by Beerus' presence thou, which could wind up being a bad thing in the long run.
Conceptually, I love this idea. While Cell's origins are easily the most grisly of any DBZ villain, what with him killing and eating tens of thousands of people to gain strength, his motivations are paradoxically the weakest. Frieza essentially had any shred of goodness inside of him beaten out through child abuse and growing up to be the CEO of a corporation of space pirates, and he keeps being a dick because of his lusts for control and for revenge against Goku and Vegeta. Buu was literally a primordial deity of evil that barely had higher thought processes to speak of and simply enjoyed blowing shit up. Cell is the only one who actually *achieved* his main motivation: becoming 'perfect.' After that, he seems to lose any real concrete goal and just wants to fight strong people to show off how perfect he is. I know some supporting material makes note here or there that he's semi-consciously following Gero's programming to kill Goku, but it never made sense to me that Cell would willingly follow the instructions of someone so much weaker than him, even if that someone was his creator. Android 16 eventually outgrew his programming enough to tolerate Goku, and he was purely mechanical; am I really supposed to believe that Cell, who's alive and sapient, and who has an ego at least 800 kilo-Vegetas in size, would be fine with following Gero's programming forever? Because I don't. The idea that Perfect Cell stops being evil because he's achieved his main goal and just doesn't know what to do now is a very intriguing idea, as is the notion that his 'good' cells from Goku, Gohan, and Piccolo balance out the 'evil' ones from Vegeta, Frieza, and King Cold (Again, why do I have to believe that Cell can glean something as complex as fighting techniques from his DNA but base psychology is something he either doesn't acquire or can ignore outright?). The execution, though... I have some trouble accepting that. While some former antagonists changed their nature rather easily, the more recent, more serious ones didn't. Piccolo had to kill his archenemy and spend a year training said archenemy's innocent child to battle an even stronger threat to become a good guy. Vegeta arguably *didn't* become a good guy at all, instead only sparing Earth because he wanted to become a Super Saiyan and prove he was better than Goku, finding some sort of kinship in Bulma, getting the shit slapped out of him by a fembot and a giant cockroach (twice), and being forced to endure the humiliation of having his archenemy sacrifice himself for him and said archenemy's son exceed him in power for several years... which arguably led to him becoming his WORST and getting sent to Hell outright for a few hours. And therein lies the problem: Cell has all the same issues that early (and even mid-series) Vegeta had: Even at his 'nicest,' Cell has little to no regard for the lives of those weaker than him, has the lust for battle of any Saiyan, is a literally monstrous egotist, and will do whatever he wants to in order to get his way. The notion that Gohan's pleading gets through to him is a hard sell, but I can believe it since, on some level, he might see Gohan like a son. He might be intrigued by the boy's seemingly bottomless potential. The problem arises from the time skip between the Cell and Buu arcs. What, exactly, is Cell doing during this time? He's not that patient, and I don't see why he'd do the same thing he already did (giving the Z fighters time to get stronger so they're a good challenge) just because Gohan politely but firmly said "No." to him. Even if he did, he previously did so for a mere 10 days. Why would he allow *years* to pass this time? Goku and Vegeta spend such long timespans training; is Cell doing the same off in a wasteland somewhere? Is he uneasily settling into family life like Vegeta? It just doesn't make sense that he'd go take a nap for 7 years after being such a ruthless opponent for the few weeks he was in the main story. Something else has to happen to stay his hand and nudge him off the villain path. Piccolo didn't just change after Gohan was nice to him one day. Vegeta didn't change after banging Bulma and skipping town for awhile. I don't see Cell changing so drastically for such a meager reason, either. I love the story being set up here, but it only has a middle (Cell gaining perspective from Dabura and especially Beerus) and an end (Cell becoming a somewhat unwilling protector of Earth/the Universe against Frieza and in the Tournament of Power). It's missing a beginning. It needs more. It needs a 'Why?'.
Good point maybe he'd raise and spar with Cell Jrs. in the 7 years and I think his only reason for buying Gohan's pleads would be something along the lines of "This has been a thrill but nowhere near what I envisioned. Obviously 10 days wasn't enough for you peons" and then he'd probably set a later date to fight for the purpose of a story where he turned good.
I was so shocked when you mentioned Cell's heat weakness and his inability to fit in the time machine, those really are details I never expected to become relevant again
It's funny because Perfect Cell is one of the few DBZ Villains you could very easily see turning good. Well maybe not turn good but Cell by the time he reached his perfection had become very amicable, sporting even. Very much similar to Goku in the sense that he desired a true challenge and a real fight. I could see him aligning his interests with the Z fighters lets just say that. I like how Shin doesn't care that Cell is there and immediately treats him like he is part of the group and knows he is jsut barely trustworthy to handle a situation like this with finesse.
For me it’s weird how cell never appeared again, he isn’t a “pure evil” villain like Buu or a dictator like Frieza, he said he’d blow up the earth just so he’d have an all out fight. Also, most of the characters he’s made from are ex-villains who sooner or later join the Z-fighters. Also also, having the zenkai ability + the namekian regeneration, it wouldn’t be so hard for him to catch up in super, and he obviously likes tournaments
Cell has a lot of interesting meta things going on to explain this: the animators said he was notoriously hard to animate and apparently, he wasn't all that popular in Japan. The only time he broke top ten in popularity polls was shortly after the end of the Cell Saga where he was ranked 4th, after that, he would later be ranked below people like Yamcha and Frieza during the Buu Saga and the highest he would be polled would be 15th... People just didn't like him and it's not like the creators were interested in pushing him like Cooler or Broly.
@@raycutler2524 That's more of a recent thing, back then, Cell was known for his unique design and being in a good arc but an otherwise unremarkable character. Add onto the fact that Japan wasn't interested in pushing him, means that interest in Cell didn't really last the first time around when he came to the US. I would say DBZA greatly helped Cell's popularity, before their take, he was largely limited to use in obscure titles and most of the time he was a mindless monster.
Considering ways to fit Perfect Cell into the time machine...Cell can fit in, just not a full Cell, part of him can… -Decapitate him, and shove his head into the time machine -Bring Cell's nucleus in a small container (maybe?) . Literal years I’ve been thinking to myself how would that work if he has a bunch of others dnas to come in and mix up with freizas cells and make them not nearly as good. Nobody else seems to have though this.
Except the combination of human/ Saiyan DNA alone should make him have hybrid Saiyan potential, Frieza's potential is derived from Cold, and Piccolo's potential should be greater than Goku's.
Apparently people think that if you mix multiple DNA together. You'll get the strongest parts of all of it, none of the weaknesses, and it'll have no unique expressed characteristics at all. We don't even know if it's possible for Cell to boost his strength through conventional training. And he only got a Zenkai boost ONCE. When he reverted to his perfect form and it seemed to spark a change in his Ki, too. He didn't get one when Goku gave him a Senzu bean...

I love the idea of Cell's saiyan tendencies(?) kicking in and arguing it's his turn to fight Frieza. He's basically the same as Goku and Vegeta at that point cus he's part-saiyan and that part has been growing more prevalent in his personality.
Not gonna lie when I first saw that cell in a community post I thought that Cell from "What if Goku was born with God Ki?" was gonna make a return for some reason.
It never occurred to me until I watched this video that while going through Babidi's ship, Goku could and should have just used Instant Transmission to get himself and his friends through the ship and straight to Babidi in the blink of an eye so they could kill him and prevent Buu from being revived.
A very well written "what if?". I think you really nailed Cell's character. I think that good Cell would be a fan favourite. I think that if this happened for real they would definitely throw some transformations his way though, with the explanation being that with Saiyan and Freeza's DNA he would have the ability to achieve his own versions of the super saiyan and golden Freeza transformations. I know you kinda touched on that with him having his own version of ss god.
The Cell killing Freeza is my absolute favorite part, Cell's characterization is on point, only a small change without rewriting, just shifting his traits that were already there.
"The winner of this tournament can be the one who fights Cell" Oh, throwback to Budokai Tenkaichi 3's tournament style, idk if you meant that or not but that's one pretty easter egg!
My thoughts on how cells potential would work: weighed down by the humans, evened out by piccolo and cold, leveled up by the saiyans, leveled up more by gohan, and greatly leveled up by frieza, so he would likely have gohan levels of potential but the lack of forms would keep him in check like you said

MasakoX's story of a Cell with all the evil deprogrammed from his genetics has been very interesting and creative in its own way, but I like how this version shows how plausible it could have been for the OG bug-man to also eventually team up with the Z fighters, while remaining as intimidating as ever.

Cell’s character was animalistic, he wanted to expand, grow, improve, and destroy. Introducing him to a controlled convincing example of someone who has more nuanced desires that are based in modern society and not wanting to fight is a good catalyst for his character’s turning point. He could be shocked into changing because he had never considered that someone so strong, an apex preditor with the potential to surpass all would have no desire to fight or improve.

I feel like cell could possibly be one of the most strongest characters in dragon ball, the fact he can get zenkais mixed with his regeneration is insane!

That isn’t possible
Super Perfect Jawline
PERFECTER CELL
Android 13 has a better jawline 😂
Cool to see your take on the Cell turned Good what if Carthu
It would have been super interesting to see Cell come back, i think he’s easily less evil than Frieza and certainly less evil than Buu. So of any villain it would’ve made the most sense to make him turn “good”

I mean he drinks people. I don't really believe that there's an appreciable difference between them. Yemma himself would be the only person who would nitpick to that level of granularity.
The biggest difference is how much time they had to work their terror.

@@hyperion3145 really? Damn, Cell could've been an extremely interesting character to bring back, it's a shame really.
@@hyperion3145 He was super popular in America though, and a lot of the Z fanbase is in America too so I wish Toriyama would bring him back for dbs
@Hyperion Sorry kid, but Cell was popular before DBZA was a thing.
Considering ways to fit Perfect Cell into the time machine...Cell can fit in, just not a full Cell, part of him can…
-Decapitate him, and shove his head into the time machine
-Bring Cell's nucleus in a small container (maybe?)
. Luckily for Cell, a tiny bit of him is what's needed for him to regenerate. Or, just have him grabbing on to the time machine.
He could just hang off the time machine simple fix
How would Perfect Cell get decapitated if a full powered kienzan did nothing to him?

Definitely one of the better alternate stories on this channel. I can get behind this easily. And any story where Gohan keeps training for real after the CS are always great lol
The thing you’ve said about cell not having Freizas EXACT potential felt like pure ecstasy. Literal years I’ve been thinking to myself how would that work if he has a bunch of others dnas to come in and mix up with freizas cells and make them not nearly as good. Nobody else seems to have though this.
Depending on how you calculate the combined potential of cell
it could theoretically be more than freeza's potential

@@Unethical.FandubsGames cell was made by a fucking ia who has way MORE technology than ours and you think he is gonna have any weakness? LOL

I think Gohan will be alot stronger if he does train with cell and I think it will be smooth sailing unless if frieza trains more or if zamasu asks super Shenron to swap bodies with cell. Very hyped for this video lol
Cell black would've been interesting
Zamasu wouldn't have wished for cell's body cause he fights with goku and cell would not even go with beerus to check on zamasu
@@Itsnotmethobro It depends on the version.
The fight between Goku and Zamasu only happens in the anime.
In the manga, they don't fight before Goku goes in the future. The reason Zamasu swap his body with goku is because he saw him using the power of Gods on GodTube (U6 VS U7 Tournament)

I love the idea of Cell's saiyan tendencies(?) kicking in and arguing it's his turn to fight Frieza. He's basically the same as Goku and Vegeta at that point cus he's part-saiyan and that part has been growing more prevalent in his personality.
0:34 That would be very cute if actually happend
Not gonna lie when I first saw that cell in a community post I thought that Cell from "What if Goku was born with God Ki?" was gonna make a return for some reason.
I love that Cell's desire to fight Frieza somehow makes him perfect fit in with Goku and Vegeta
It never occurred to me until I watched this video that while going through Babidi's ship, Goku could and should have just used Instant Transmission to get himself and his friends through the ship and straight to Babidi in the blink of an eye so they could kill him and prevent Buu from being revived.
Babidi's ship was cloaked, so Goku would have had to waited till Spopovich stopped at the ship, at which case he's already there in the story
You think that's bad Mr popo could've killed Vegeta and nappa with ease lol
@The Xenosaiyan Your comment doesn't make sense. The person you replied to was right.
Killing Babidi with, what I assume would be called the “Hero-Villain Kamehameha” is cool as hell
Couldn't agree more
Maybe he discovers true perfection and goes even further?
The Cell killing Freeza is my absolute favorite part, Cell's characterization is on point, only a small change without rewriting, just shifting his traits that were already there.

The idea itself makes sense, but cell's personality seemed to be a combination of the darkest parts of the people he's comprised of, they actually highlight this a bit more in the abridged series, but he was also next to impossible to beat without killing, which is the way almost all of his enemies turned friends were able to become friends in the first place
