The Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route (ORBDR) is a 750-mile, multi-day off-pavement ride designed for adventure and dual-sport motorcycles. Starting in the high deserts of the southeast and exploring north through ancient pine forests and into the rugged mountains of the Cascade Range, challenges include lava rocks, silt, sand, and arduous mountain roads. From sagebrush steppe and hot springs, to caverns and glaciated volcanoes, riders are guided into remote territories that reveal many of the state’s natural wonders, providing prime sightseeing and recreational opportunities. With stunning views throughout and terrain that is certain to test your riding skills and endurance, the ORBDR is one of the best ways to discover the backcountry of Oregon.

Thanks everyone for watching! Hope you enjoyed the video! If anyone has any questions about the #orbdr we are happy to answer!
Hey great edit you guys. I enjoyed watching this!
Nice job on the video. Love the fact that Chloe isn't the usual terrified teenager of anything buggy. Loved the fact she brings her bug book with her! And, of course, Goose stole the show! New subscribers. Glad we found you!
Thank you! It’s difficult to watch her grow up, and I cherish the time we spend together in the woods because I get to see that kid again. Absolutely thrilled that you and others enjoyed the video! We loved making it!
Thanks for watching!
Great video to following along to. Looking forward to getting out there with some buddies. Thanks for sharing the adventure.
Our pleasure!
Holy crap! Hey guys! We passed each other like 3 times ;)
Oh yeah!? Were you with that group of 6 or so riders?
@@CascadiaOverland 3 of us. My buddy on the Africa Twin kept getting stuck
Great video, I like all the drone footage. You passed us at the base of Beatys Butte. Then we caught up with you again at heart Mountain ranger station. It was a great BDR. #ADVwithRoscoe
If you camp on the Alvord Desert, try to plan on a night with a new moon. I have had the best view of the Milky Way from the Alvord Desert. Much of Central and Eastern Orgon have great dark sky areas. So many find section 1 in the high desert boring. I live and explore the high desert and find slowing down and getting out of the rig to explore the canyons, creeks, and hill side to have much to see. Smell the sagebrush, pine trees, watch for wild horses, pronghorn, deer, Elk. One thing I ask of all that drive the Oregon BDR is to respect those of us that have homes along the route. We live in the section from Bend to Sisters. The gravel road past my home is good and people bomb through at 30 to 50 mph. They do not think about the dust they generate that speeds to our homes. Also watch for people and pets walking on the road. So many close calls over the years. With the BDR traffic has increased and made our lives less enjoyable.
Wickid cool!
Glad you enjoyed it!
thanks for sharing!
great vid fellas!
Awesome job on the video, John!! Been back for less than a week, and I’m already ready to sleep on dirt again. Watching this doesn’t help 😂
Nice video! Makes me want to go down and do the Oregon BDR and I still haven't finished the Washington BDR (the state I live in), soon though. My daughter will finish getting her RN in a few weeks and then I will have a lot of free time for my dog and I to hit some trails.
Right on, thank you! I’ve done it a couple times all the way through, and we are constantly revisiting sections. The BDRs are a great way to find trail systems. Looking at maybe doing the WYBDR next year. Maybe we’ll spot each other out on the trail sometime! Keep the shiny side up, my friend!
Well, I think it’s way cool and I can’t wait to do it
Thanks for sharing. You've shown me a another way that I can get out since my crash on my motorcycle. I thought I was done. Maybe not. 😊
Damn cool 🎉
Thank you!
Awesome video
Thanks!
Great video, if i could make one small suggestion your music comes on too loud, had to keep turning volume up and down, no offence by any means, thank you for the video I am making plans to do these routes👍
Great video @CascadiaOverland. I recently purchased a new rig, how bad was the pin-stripping??? I'm not sure I'm ready for this new rig to get battle-scars! Haha!!
You think you have enough filler shots? Any shots of the ACTUAL route?
Where can I get a map like that?
So at no point was it too narrow for the overlanding vehicles considering it was designed for motorcycles?
That’s correct. You could even get a half ton truck through if you wanted to
You aren’t dirty at all. You showered every single night
Yeah, I just don’t believe you at all. Almost positive that you staged this entire video 😂
