    I have beaten shogun, fall of the samurai, warhammer 2, thrones of brittania and napoleon in legendary mode... and I still can't win a single battle on this fucking game...

    Me and my girl started playing Total War Attila off of playing Shogun II. I'm sure you can assume our surprise with all the differences between the two games. Thanks for the awesome video. maybe we won't be taking 15 minute turns by turn 11.

    One strategy I've used is for Western Roman Empire is to disband your armies and get rid of the Latin christian religious buildings asap. Disbanding your all of your armies gives you off the bat 12K+ gold per turn and allows you to build important structures in Italy, Africa and Spain. Basically ignoring Britain, Gaul, and your immediate Northern and Eastern territories. Once you get some economic and sanitation upgrades focus on food and happiness to prevent rebellions. Destroying the religious buildings frees up maintenance costs of up to 800-1000 gold per turn. And also do not have an army unless needed say a Horde walks up to your capital, you might need to build a force to get rid of them or make them think twice about it. Raise generals near your capital and Italy and in Africa. If you can, try to conquer the rest of Africa to secure your back and then focus on Europe and defending your capital. So far in my campaign has this strategy has helped, but I am starting to get a bit overwhelmed. Not as bad as my first try though.
    But thank you for the video. Great tips. Much appreciated.

      The Propagandacast I was thinking more along the lines of MP battles, but running a campaign might be necessary to learn the game.

    Very useful video, thanks!
    I'm a new player to Attila and to the series in general, and Attila is probably my overall favourite. In my campaign as the Aksums, I have a fully upgraded pleasure house in my capital, which makes something like 4000 per turn just by itself. But it tanks religion, so I've got a highly skilled priest deployed right outside the city. negating any religion debuffs. Shit cracks me up.
    My only two issues right now is that the Sassanids (and their vassals) and the Romans hate me... so I keep throwing periodic gifts at the Sassanids, who are currently only at war with the White Huns. The other issue is I have no one to trade with because the Aksums begin right at the bottom of the map. Each active trade route brings me +30 food.. Any tips for this?

      @@Propagandacast Thanks! I made an edit to my original comment - if you have some time would love to hear your thoughts.
      Essentially I don't know where to go from here. I have no one to trade with, and it's only a matter of time before everyone around me attacks.. The Eastern Romans (at war with practically everyone, so likely a softer target) are on my left, and the Sassanids (at war with the White Huns) are on my right..

    • @Propagandacast
      @Propagandacast  Рік тому +1

      @@jasvirdi1939 Well i don't think you have many other options but than to go to war. My suggestion would be the Sassanids who are at war with the White Huns so they ought to be the better target.

    if you play as the west roman empire you should
    1) get rid of all your churches, they cost upkeep (i think there are 3)
    2) convert military warfs into fishing warfs (dont convert trading warfs, it isnt worth it)
    3)keep britain defensless, not worth to defend it
    4) put governers in your top income provinces and focus on reducing corruption
    5) dont upgrade settlements near the front, build them in spain or italy
    6) spain is easier to defend than italy, if you have to fall back there
    7) if all else fails go to africa :)

    This is/was my first Total War game and unfortunately the managing in this game drove me insane. I started making all sorts of excel sheets and word documents to get a clearer vision on what I should do. And eventually after making those things I still couldn't decide and then decided to stop playing. Every time I hop in and tell myself I'll do things casually now (not care too much about efficiency per turn etc.) and just derp around I find myself falling back into the same pattern of simply getting overwhelmed by all the mechanics and then overthinking every little thing.
    So any tips for making those things easier on myself or maybe there are Total War games that have fewer mechanics or perhaps use them in a way that everything is more straight forward?

    • @elliott7706
      @elliott7706 5 років тому

      Maybe try with medieval2 or empire first. Management is less complicated. Attila is supposedly for people experienced with Totalwar series. Those 2 games helped me play this. Prologue is a must

      Total war shogun 2 is a amazing game to start with it’s simple Mechanics and fairly fair challenges so it’s not too easy and it helps you get used to total
      War

    It's great that you make tutorial videos for new people, but you really need to slow down your speech. You'll say a few words that are understandable, followed by a barrage of words that are so quick that i need to try to interpret what you said. And I'm southern English. I really think people who aren't familiar with your accent would struggle. Just a tip, take it or leave it. Thanks for the video anyway.
