Hey just wanted to say thank you for this video! We had an issue with mud daubers. Fired it up and it over-reved. Cleaned it out but then had about half power. Watched this video checked circuits and that fuse and replaced the fuse and wa la. Working now! Thank you! Able to get our job done now!
Thanks for the video, very informative, if the starter keeps staying engaged after it’s fired up it’s likely gonna be the diode you pointed out. If the diode stays bad it’s gonna cases your fuses to go out as well. I’m fixing mine up it’s identical to this one. New fuses and diode should get it fixed
Hello my friend, I just bought a Miller Bobcat 225 that I have no idea what is wrong with it. I probably have to rebuild the engine and go over everything to see what is wrong. My guess without even trying to start it is the alternator/generator part. It is definitely toured out but I plan on restoring it and using it eventually....
Good video. I'd like to see something showing in more detail, the rectifier testing as well as the rectifier wire hookups for a Miller Legend NT. Thanks and keep up the good work.
Hey NTX, I repair welding machines for an industrial welding supply company in south Louisiana. If you ever get stumped or something we should talk. Also A quick engine rpm test is using the HERTS setting on your multimeter. American standard is 60 herts for adequate wave form. (Even if you don’t have the right output voltage) thanks
Hi I bought a 225 miller welder and it starts and runs perfect but there’s a fuse behind the panel and I believe it’s a 10 amp fuse, so I can put a new fuse in and as soon as I start it blows the fuse everytime, do you have idea what would cause that?
Nice video. I’m in west Tx up by Austin . I also service welder . Mostly Bobcat and trailblazers . I seen them fuse boxes with the slow blow fuses . Them ribbit gets lose on the connectors give you problems . Ohm out the fuse box . if you ever have one . Intermitting . Weld or power problems . Hit me up some time if can’t figure out problem
Hi, I have a 99 KK model Miller bobcat 225 NT that won't idle up or down. New Rheostat, tune up, voltage regulator, and a bunch of other new parts, also new brushes. Last night it would idle down, but today it won't. I tried jumping that idle solenoid and it would barely move...... Not sure if my DeWalt battery had enough juice for it or not. Lol. Thoughts?
Hey NTX 🫡 I have a question I have a Bobcat 225 It starts up fine and the plugs 🔌 have power but it won't weld... Do you have any answers for Ami that might help you figure out what it is?
I'm having an issue with my bobcat 225 NT propane welder. I did a complete tune up spark plugs, oil filter, oil, new battery an battery terminals. The battery isn't charging when it's running... Any suggestions?? Was working good for about 4 hours shut it down went to start it an the battery was dead.
My miller 225 high idles and then low idles without striking an arc. Any ideas on what I can check? I’m thinking the idle solenoid but don’t want to tear into anything without some advice. Thanks!
We’re getting ice and I’m trying to get my old bobcat running to use as a generator. Mine has the Onan 216 motor. Any advice? I can get it started but can’t get it to stay running.
Are you getting fuel out of the fuel pump to the carb? If youre getting fuel to the carb I'd look at the fuel shut of solenoid on your carb it might be stuck closed not allowing fuel through especially if its been sitting for some time.
@ntxwelding626 Hello, can you help me with a problem? I have a gasoline Bobcat 250 Miller with a SUBARU engine, I am using it as an electric generator, after leaving it on for about 1 hour and a half, the generator had a stability fault in the engine, then it turned off and it doesn't want to do anything, it doesn't want to give switch nor does it want to give battery signal on the control panel, there is absolutely no power, what could be the cause of the problem? apparently the fuse shows continuity
I’ve got a trailblazer 325 diesel with no weld and no power output stuck on high idle, I swapped that same fuse but it keeps blowing it out. Checked the Brushes and their good, any suggestions???
Thanks for sharing. As far as setting the high speed, could you not have a frequency meter attached to one of the AC outlets, and adjusting the screw until you are reading slightly higher than 60 hz? (If by chance you do not have an rpm meter handy?)
I have a trailblazer carbureted and the darn thing I can start it and it will idle for a bit then it starts fluctuating low to high and if I try to weld it won’t hold a higher RPM what would cause that?
Watched a couple of your videos, keep it up, can't seem to find too many on YT that are repairing engine driven welders. Have one of my own that I know has a problem, just not quite sure what caused it
I have this same machine.. mine seems like it’s super high rev like 24/7 everything works fine though welds great but it’s just loud as hell and doesn’t idle.
do you have knowledge not in the welder function but rather in the generator end 8000 watts 50 amps ... I have 120 volts ac but I am not able to do 240 with
La Miller que eh visto , enciende todo bien pero no suelda , no quema la soldadura o electrodo como le querías decir , alguna idea de el porque? , ya revisaron carbones ,fusibles , módulos , rpm y nada que damos con la falla
I have the exact same but won’t it won’t weld I don’t know what to do. It will weld for a little bit then it will run sluggish after 2 minutes won’t run won’t right & won’t run my grinder correctly this is my first welder ever so I’m gonna be turning to you for a lot of questions can you help me on how to trouble shoot this ? And also what side do I put the stinger on? And what side do I put the ground on??
Sounds like an engine issue I would start there. If your engine isn’t running properly or isn’t running at correct rpms you won’t get the weld output you should be getting under normal conditions. Ground on - and stinger on +
Hey i have 225 G and I right off the bat said its gotta bre something simple Its a reset or A fuze and lord and behid youve made it easy enough a dam fuze thanks 🙏 Sempre Fi 🎺 Hoooya 🇺🇲
Looks like your positives are 110 which on your rectifier has a cutoff corner, if not the the spade that is turned different than all others is your positive. Negative is across from positive 110 and should be your 42 wires. On one rectifier you have 104 and 106 wires and they dont matter how they go just one on one side the other on other.

Can you send me a pic of how the plates go on the back of the weld process selector switch

Do you think that is expensive to repair?

Any insight on a "WELD COMM" error on a bobcat airpak 200? I do not think my machine qualifies for the software update fix.

How or who repairs older Millers? I have a wildcat 350 D. I need help updating or fixing it is not putting out nothing.

Hey I got one is doing the same thing but mine don’t show anything in the reading with the meter could really use some help
I have a machine exactly like that one. How do you order parts. I’m having a hard time finding the model number. Thanks
if it comes out of my generator only 1x120 is it conceivable to rewind at a lower cost so that I find the other 120 volts to have 240

Are you saying the cut side is +
Will that fuel shut off cause the welder to almost die and then allow it to go to full idle?
My thermal arc isnt making power. With welding or the 120v
Got a 225+ will not weld or generate power will lightly spark on the ac side
Very simple and good information but what does that fuse doing
My rpms are up really no mater adjustment getting 210 volts at 110 outlet
Can you provide a close-up picture of your wiring at the SR2 diode? I keep shorting out F1 and I believe this is the culprit.
After all what you did still blowing the f2 fuse that you replace

@@ntxwelding626 what would happen if a person we’re to cross and weld with em
It will just weld different. Some rods and processes weld better in different polarities. Try youtubing welding polarities.
I have a Miller the same but, the auxiliary output loses strength when connecting a 1hp compressor it is an amiller bobcat 250

Hey I had a Hobart champion 225 basically is the same thing my fuse was out had the same problem replace it and it weld great
What’s the fuse capability
Depending on the year you are looking at a slow blow 30a fuse but anything around there should do the trick
Nice video thanks for posting
