Great stuff man, I appreciate all your steps to servicing new to-you equipment. I just bought a Miller Starfire 2e and I'm refurbishing it for service. I paid $75 for it to a nice old lady, but she was so nice I gave her the $250 I thought it was worth and she insisted I grab a few more things. So I ended up with a gas welding cart with two big bottles of Oxy/Acetylene, some regulators and 100' of 2/0 leads. The best part was I'd forgotten my winch and no HFT in sight, I loaded this little blue beast up a short ramp with 2 ratchet straps. She was telling me the whole time that I should come back with some friends and she didn't think I'd get it loaded by myself, but I did. Thanks for the tips!
I am stopping after the oil drain and filter. Tip. Run the motor first and warm up that oil. Ok, needed a starter. Do that, start and drain. Oil filter. Gaskets put on dry and torqued like you did it, Well I don't want to be taking it off. Lube that gasket and turn to touch and then about a 1/2 to 3/4 a turn. You really cranked that filter down hard. I been doing service work all my life and never had a issue with my filter changes. I can tell when they have been done as you and seen a many of filters crater trying to get them off. Upright filters I always fill with oil then install. Sure faster prime to the pump and journals. I will stop right here. Good luck.
I have 3 of these welders and with every service I always dismantle all the tin and give everything a good power washing With a good degreaser & Waxing all the tin on the insides before putting everything back together again.. Even the outside gets a good waxing ! I never lay anything on top of my welders And just make it a rule nothing touches the blue ! They always stay looking new ! When power washing the welders The only thing I cover is the exhaust.. Just give them time to dry out before using.. Never any issues with getting everything wet..
I got an old late 80's early 90's miller trailblazer 259G I am replacing the motor on its pretty bad though got it cheap so hope it works out hopefully this summer I can get it running.
Yeh, we used it during a power outage recently. It can run 38 amps off the 220 circuit and it can run a few additional items off the 2X 120V circuits. Thanks Tony!
That's bang on. Plus youve got 2 more trailers to make similar things with. Maybe buy another welding plant fix it up on the other trailer. And sell it so it covers the 2 you've already got Does the trailer need mudguards and lights.? It would here in England.
I think Im going to set another trailer up for my personal unit with my torch set and job box. We have a designation here called 'AG husbandry' where farm implements have slightly looser requirements. Thanks for watching
WHAT I DID WITH MY HRSAVY EQUIPMENT . I CLEAR AND WASH EVERY THING DOWN , IF I HAVE TIME AT LEASE ONCE WEEK OR ONCE PER MONTH , THIS WAY U CAN FIND THE OIL LEAF OR WHAT MIGHT BE BROKING DOWN ?
My 250 came with a remote drain hose, one end had a crimped fitting the other had a hand tighten fitting, do Need to tell you which end leaked? (down on the DPF filter of the service truck no less - LoL) The unit now has a hydraulic hose for a drain and a remote mounted oil filter attached to the back of it for handy access (mounted on a welding skid now)
I was laughing when i saw him pumping slime in i hate that stuff my dad tries it on every tire that goes flat and gets it all over every thing and some of that tire stuff welds the tire to the rim horable
Man. That welder is dirty . I Service welder I take the tops and sides off clean out the generator area and clean the slop rings . As I’m in there . Just give you some advice . Hope that help . Hello, can you help me with a problem? I have a gasoline Bobcat 250 Miller with a SUBARU engine, I am using it as an electric generator, after leaving it on for about 1 hour and a half, the generator had a stability fault in the engine, then it turned off and it doesn't want to do anything, it doesn't want to give switch nor does it want to give battery signal on the control panel, there is absolutely no power, what could be the cause of the problem? apparently the fuse shows continuity Put the 12V battery to direct start and start the engine but there is no power
Hello. In need of some advice. I recently came across an exact machine. What would be far market value machine if it has slightly over 1k hours? Also would you recommend someone buying similar unit and also how much life would you think that machine has

Sounds like taking advantage of a little widowed old lady that didn't know what she had and what it was worth !

A full tear down and rebuild might be an interesting side project.
Congratulation for your work Mr. ... God bless you and all people of EEUU... best regards from Santiago de Chile, SouthAmerica!!
A few psi of clean compressed air to the oil dip stick tube, I use a rubber tipped blow gun, and that engine oil will come on out.
Nice shop, your a true DIY American.
Good video on rebuilding a trailer.

Man that's cool I want a big welder bad got the truck but can't afford a brand new machine don't know how to go about finding used ones
Big wheels, good job.
Looks and sounds good! It just needed some TLC. Can you use that as a house generator, too?👍

Curious as to how many hours, how much paid and source of your used welder finds.
Great job.
I was laughing when i saw him pumping slime in i hate that stuff my dad tries it on every tire that goes flat and gets it all over every thing and some of that tire stuff welds the tire to the rim horable

I have a 225 diesel with the duetz and I can’t find a starter for it
Are you doing a good job
Fenders?
What size hose did you use for the oil
Hello. In need of some advice. I recently came across an exact machine. What would be far market value machine if it has slightly over 1k hours? Also would you recommend someone buying similar unit and also how much life would you think that machine has
Where did you get your starter
👍😎👍
Thanks for watching!!
Don't you think it might be a good idea to Remove all outside covers and give it a good cleaning
What do you do when a new starter doesn’t engage? Having that problem with my 225nt
Oh man, not sure? Id probably check the grounding and double check that the small wires are on the correct terminals. Wish I was more of a help
Removing the sparkplug makes the compression factor go away. See if that works. Then put the plugs back and try starting
A good stuff
Thanks!
@@unitedstatesofbuild4915 how many hours on it?
Not bad I do say so
Cool
