Between that sculpt and your paint job, that tiny, tiny face has a ton of character and really preserves the demented glee that characterizes the Red Skull. He loves his job and it shows! Excellent work as usual, sir!
Different class as always. I did my best to follow your Sanctum Sanctorum video, and my word my Dr Strange house has come out lovely - still not a patch on yours mind!
Hello, Love your work as always. At around 13:20 you said you have added white first to avoid highlighting from dark purple. Could you please tell me how or why does it work like this? I don't mean a whole lecture on colour theory or anything but why does the order of mixing colours matters at all? So far i was sure that it doesn't. Thanks for your videos and a reply (hopefully). Cheers
Hi! The order doesn't really matter ultimately. It's just that a lot of people might be tempted to mix blue into the red to get their OSL tone, and that will just create a very dark purple that will require pulling back with lots of white (and red to get it closer to the skin tone). Whereas I find the colours easier to control if you first push the values up with white, then add a little blue, and maybe reincorporate some red until the balance looks right. 😀
Amazing job! I was very disappointed in the view of the Red Skull that we got from the announcement of the new box set, AMG's paint job had me worried, but you make Red Skull look so much better.
Thanks a lot! For paint conversions etc you might want to try this app: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.courageousoctopus.paintrack&hl=en_GB&gl=US (also available for Apple) :)
Thank you so much! Yes, I'll be working my way through the rest of the new core set (with both videos and PDF guides). Here's my Captain America guide ICYMI: sorastro.com/2023/10/01/captain-america-pdf-painting-guide/ 😀
Thanks a lot! I've actually published PDF guides for both Green Goblin and Carnage over on my website: sorastro.com/2020/09/16/2735/ I hope you find them useful 😀
Beautiful as always! Love how the red pops. By the way i just noticed something from your channel avatar. Boba with a broken helmet and his mouth visible kinda looks a bit like Judge Dredd. You totally should paint a Boba with Dredd colors :D
@@SorastroNo problem! I am going to be using the skills I've learned from you to paint my Resident Evil miniatures. I have three board games plus all expansions to paint. I have a LOT to do. But I love RE and I love mini painting so I'm super excited to start!
I'm thinking about having the inside uniform on Red Skull be like a grey or something to break it up! Any recommendations on paints to use for this so that it doesn't just look like the highlight colours on the black trench coat?
I love how interesting you can make this character look and the details that come out considering it's overwhelmingly black.
Thank you very much! There's not much going on colour-wise with him for sure.. 😁

Excellent video as always. I need to find out the equivalents of the paints you are using. Is there a site for that ?
