while this video may be years old, I’d figure I’d share some knowledge.
At 5:17 he describes a red outline around the insignia- that was an experimental version of the insignia that served from late June until mid August of 1943, and the first iteration of the stars and bars style of military insignia. It was changed to the insignia blue on August the 14th of that year. While I can’t offer a specific reason, it was found that most squadrons refused to paint the red part of the insignia on. However, I can say that when red was left out, this was most often for fear of confusion with Japanese air forces. (And was the same reason why the “meatball” was retired as well!)
In the diagramming, this confirms them as 1943 planes, and even more specifically as pre-August planes in given configuration.

Why not a paint ballon inside? When impact a nail inside busts the balloon.
That's what I was thinking... even just replace the nose cone with a paint balloon. It'd make a much better mark, and one you could leave there without it molding!

I was to sugest the same thing, get small baloon and get the water with some paint mixed, and make it with enough pressure inside the baloon. It should splash like crazy if the pressure in the baloon is high.

Hung up meaning it wouldn't release and Having to land w/ an Active bomb strapped to your underside that got stuck on release ! When you land it could detach & Detonate!
This has been fun to watch. Let me tell you something my father told me. He flew P 40s and P 47’s in ground attack in Burma. I asked him how did he aim the bombs that he dropped. He told me that he would go into a shallow dive lining up the target with his cowling without slipping or skidding. He would pull the airplane up and count 1 and 2 and release. I was a pipeline patrol pilot on low level inspection. I took bags of flour with me one time and tried his way and hit my target consistently.

michael reeves wouldve made them turn into guided missiles mid flight and then aim for the nearest persons head and use a propeller that appears on the back of it thrust vector towards the targets head
Build a fairly big plane, multiple engines, LOTS of gopros. Have a line of shooters with paintball or BB guns. Fly the plane slowly along the 'line' in a kind of 'run the gauntlet' scenario.
Fire.

Damn, as a real ww2 fanatic i love how much work you put in this, i hope tou continue making content on ww2 plane recreations. However the flakpanzer is not fully accurate, it was an ostwind, which wasn't so active late war, however you used late war camoflage, to make it realistic you should've used the wirbelwind, which has 4 guns instead of 1. The wirbelwind is on the panzer 3 and the ostwind on the panzer 4 hull, however that's not a big problem
I recognize it instantly that it is on a pz 4 hull and not one the pz. 3. I was wondering if I remember wrong but it seems like I remember right.

Godzilla has really really black eyes, and he has plates on his back that glow, and he can spray anything from his mouth except houses, baths, and equipment.
You should adapt a couple of paintball guns inside your plane wings with a central tank that uses a hose splitter. And you could make part of the wings to house your ammo. The trigger could use servos to drive an eccentric oval to engage them.

Gives a little insight into how rugged the real P36 was. Despite some big holes in the fuselage and wings the plane still remained airborne. That one in the engine cowl would have been a kill though.

The Ostwind is a type of Flakpanzer. Do you know what panzer means? I’m pretty sure you know what the word “flak” means. So if you used your brain (which I know you have) then you’d get “Anti Aircraft Tank”. Which is what an Ostwind is.
A flak panzer is just any tank that has anti aircraft cannons stop playing so many videogames

I think powdered chalk in a Ballon inside the bomb would be awesome. Put a nail in the nose that drives through and pops the balloon on impact. Cool, safe, and easy.
The A-36 was a attack aircraft, not a dive bomber, like a warthog. It is similarly listed as an attack aircraft there also

The flakpanzer you were referring to was the Flakpanzer IV Wirbelwind.

What fun! The video takes are incredible! I can't tell you how thrilled I am to have come across your channel! Brings back so many memories of my brother and I. My brother was into RC planes all his life since he was a child. He was an air force veteran, a pilot, and put himself through college after his discharge and graduated with honors to become an aerospace engineer at NASA for 34 years, having managed some 75 space missions before retiring. During his lifetime he amassed quite a collection of RC aircraft and always enjoyed taking the family and grandkids out to fly model rockets and the planes he built. Unfortunately having only been retired for 2 years he succumbed to Covid in 2020. We miss him terribly. He was one of two younger brothers I admired and looked up to. Thank You for this! It brought so much enjoyment being able to relive some fond memories vicariously. I definitely subbed your channel!

Im not sure if this only applies to the Ju-87 or to all dive bombers, but for a proper dive you need a 70 degree angle towards the target and once you are at around 500 meters from the ground you can drop the bomb/s. Well, since its a smaller model of a bomber, 15 meters would probably do fine.

This version was actually the A-36 Apacha as ordered by the British. Later, it became OUR P-51B.
In the early 1980s, I saw some guys driving WWII RC battle ships in big ponds, just for RC, and shooting at each other with real working automatic BB guns. The winner made it back to dock. Boats were really sunk. They had fishing poles with big treble hooks and weights to retrieve the sunk or disabled boats. This was some place in Ca. Around the bay area. It was run by Vets.

For a bomber, make a box with a flap at the bottom, and load it up with eggs, tomato's, Etc. Then, you could open the flap dropping the items, making a trail of muck like when some bombers would drop several bombs in a line. I think that would make really cool video.
Btw, if u do use this idea, make sure to make it in a line shape.

2 ideas to improve the bomb release and splatter. On the bomb use a plunger in the nose to compact as it hits and it will eject the goop and it depresses. For the release mechanism, make it spring loaded to force the bomb away from the pylon

If I'm not mistaken, the A36 was provided to the RAF and very soon after the Allison engine was replaced with the Rolls-Royce Merlin resulting in the P51. The plane's nose profile was also reconfigured to accommodate the new engine. The British named the new plane Mustang. The rest is ,as they say, history.

flakpanzer means flak tank, it is still a flakpanzer.
It's a Flak.Pz Mk.IV Ostwind, There's also the Ostwind II (2 barrels) and the Wirbelwind (4 barrels but less caliber)

Had another idea for your bombs. Make a nosecone with a firing pin, use nail gun blank charges with quick fuse inside a short piece of a straw and put the straw into a tube with black powder charge. Then load your eggs around the tube. Basically making an impact explosive omelet.
You need to make this exact video again but have a little battle and not take turns to hit each other, like count down when to go and try to have the bomb hit the tank while the tank is tryna shoot the plane down, that would be a sick video 🔥

The hole in the plane thing was looking very realistic
The fact that this is based off my favorite game of all time and my favorite ww2 plane in the game makes me love this so much more, however the A-36 had a max load of 1500 lbs but was not usually seen at that weight, as 1000 was the regular load, and in the later made versions, it had four 12.7 millimeter browning machine guns. (Side note, war thunder is a huge grind)
