Thank you for the descriptive video! This helps a ton? We are installing an AJE also in my son’s FoxBody! I hope more people see your videos!
I have the same 89 car shop manual as you do and nope no torque spec given. I also got the electrical & vacuum trouble-shooting manual. I bought both of them when I ordered the car in October of 1988 when I was 38 years old and still have it. It's a keeper.
Yup. I like to get that kind of detail and there are quite of few items in the manual that doesn't have a spec you'll find.
biggest complaint welds break.....that is a bid deal. hahah
Question; can you do a video when you are installing the engine onto the K-member? Thanks!!
Absolutely. It's coming up soon. Lot of content recorded just need get it posted.
I didn't get any hardware with my member or race brace. I got 4 bolts that don't fit anything and also 2 big washers and 2 bushes that don't go anywhere. No check sheet to work out what's for what.
I gave up on my race brace. Could not get them to line up.
Can you share a video of how you installed or final look of road brace??
I ended up not using road brace. It was not lining up well so I didn't use it.
@@MrStangdawg darn! Are you in texas? I'll buy it from you.
I'm in NH. I'll have to see where I put it as my garage full of boxes as car is stripped of trim getting ready for paint.
Would this be more for a drag setup where mm is more of road race setup? Also are you sacrificing some rigidity due to being lighter than MM k member? Just curious cause Iv been planning on going mm but just discovered this one recently.
Aftermarket K members give you more space for headers which was a major reason for me and weight reduction.
The MM k-member is a quality piece but remember that you'll then be using aftermarket from A arms and coil overs so the cost goes up.
I'm using stock style a-arms and standard lowering springs so the AJE set-up works for me.
I'm not sure how much protection you lose with aftermarket k-members but they can handle lot of abuse.
If I was going to a dedicated car carving corners on a track I'd go MM.
@@MrStangdawg right on appreciate the input.
What's the point just to put the same engine in the car that fit. Lol
header clearance. With a 351W having aftermarket k-member makes life SOOOOO much easier. If I ever pull the motor I'll likely switch it to a MM k-member.
