ok, i don't even crotchet, no idea why i am being recommended this video, but I have to give it a thumbs up because OH MY GOD LOOK AT THE TINY TRICERATOPS
I cannot tell you how happy I was when I didn’t mess up on any stitches I am experienced crochet artist but usually I get at least two stitches wrong but no NONE and the fact that this is my first video I have watched on your channel shows you are very easy to understand and I’m on the spectrum of autism and I find it hard to do “normal” day things and I’m so happy thank you👻👻👻🥰🥰
Tip for anyone making this: use the yarn you trimmed off while adding things (like the horns and eyes if you sewed the eyes) to help stuff it. It’s only a little waste but it still helps plus you use a little less real stuffing.
You can also do this with fabric scraps if you sew! Just cut them up into little pieces so it's soft. Especially good to do with polyester/acryllic since natural fibers will at least decompose
For anyone coming here for the first time, or if you’re fairly new to crocheting, USE A STITCH MARKER. If you don’t have any, a paperclip works just fine. This pattern is so UNBELIEVABLY hard to follow if you don’t. IMO he should use them too for tutorials like this, but regardless, use them!! They will make your life so much easier.
Just a tip I found, since I have made several of these, I put a stitch marker in the back loop of the first single crochet, before you start making the fins. When you come back around, there is no difficulty locating where that first loop is. Everyone loves this little dinosaur. Thank you SO much for the tutorial, and I hope my tip made sense.
I really like how he doesn't skip parts that are just 1sc in each stitch. He keeps going with you, so you don't have to constantly stop the video. This works out for me, but I know many of the faster crocheters are too quick for him and have to fast-forward the video to the next part. Thanks for the great video! ~A little advice~ I use a stitch marker for every row. I get lost if I don't have it, and I use a plastic piece or a bobby pin. Sometimes I just use a different color of yarn. I hope that this will help lots of beginners!
I bought a 120 pack of stitch markers on Amazon for $5!! They save my life with these little guys. I use chunky yarn so mine ended up the size of my forearm but I still think he’s little☺️
I actually found that it was a little too fast but much better than other tutorials, i agree that it’s really good that they do it with you and don’t cut out in the video like 50 sc. it’s an amazing tutorial and I managed to do it!
Your instructions are so clear! I’m new to crochet but was able to follow along and easily complete my triceratops. I’ll definitely join club crochet as I’d really like to be able design my Amigurumi when I get a little better. Thanks for the great tutorial!
Dino Saur While you are correct that pterosaurs aren’t dinosaurs, it isn’t because of a lack of backbone. All vertebrates (order: chordata) in fact have a spinal chord!
@@fossilizedcorvid Agreed, thanks for making that point; mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians, fish... whether they live on land or in the water they've all got backbones. All reptiles, including dinosaurs, pterosaurs, crocodylomorphs, and marine reptiles, have backbones. In fact, "pterodactyl" isn't even the name of an animal; it should be "Pterodactylus," or whatever other pterosaur, like Pteranodon or Rhamphorynchus (whose tail is frequently added to mainstream representations of pterosaurs) is being referred to.
Hey! I'm a total beginner, I have been planning to learn crochet for a few years now, and in February my mom started teaching me how to do a potholder (basically just a square). I saw this video, and I knew I had to try! It took me around 4 hours to finish it, it's a little wonky and the horns look more like squares than triangles, but I'm really proud of myself and that's thanks to your video. The explanations are clear, I like your voice tone that's very soothing and comforting. So thank you!
I just wanted to say thank you so much for this!!! I love how you don’t assume we know what you mean when you say half double crochet and you take the time to go back and teach us! Truly the most helpful tutorial I’ve seen. I learned that I’ve been doing so many things wrong and how to fix them just from this video so thank you!!!
I haven`t crocheted in 15 years or so, but I manage to finish one in 2 hours. Im so happy with it, I`ve named her Beep and I will create an army of them
dude i just started crocheting and failed at making a granny square earlier today, i think i'm getting ahead of myself a bit with this wizardry. even tho this sorta motivates me to try more, cause being able to do stuff like this sounds like so much fun. i'll stick to my tribble crochets for now but this is being booked marked for when i'm more competent.
Just so you all know I’m also new and trying to make a blanket. I’ve been working on it for a year and it’s hardly a scarf. However I’ve mastered how to make baby whale amigurimi and my triceratops is going well too. I hope you guys give this a try and make your own dinos💛💛💛💛
It’s refreshing to see somehow not only have very easy to understand instructions but also shows us the little slip ups. Like no one ever shows them struggling to put the yarn though, letting go of the yarn etc. and it makes me feel like I’m failing so this was very comforting!! I’ve only been crocheting for a week so as soon as I can afford to buy more stuff I’ll be making this
The first crochet project I actually finished!! Thank you for this great tutorial. I love the fact you don't edit and cut parts of the video, you show everything from the beginning to the end- makes it so much easier to understand!
Ahhh! This works PERFECT for my friend’s upcoming birthday!! She’s obsessed with dinosaurs at the moment and she’ll love this! Thanks for the easy to understand tutorial!
This lil man is the REASON I learned to crochet, and was my very first ever crochet project 💗💗 I started and finished him today and I'm so happy with my adorable little friend
Lately i have been feeling kind of lonely, and I know my grandma has too, and she has been crocheting for years, so i decided to take it up too. I havent told her yet, but I am making this for her as a surprise to show her that I’ve started doing something she loves! Thank you so much for this tutorial!
I know this is old but I don’t care. This is officially my new favorite crochet channel. I’ve never found someone that explains so clearly before! You’re a blessing!
My self taught, UA-cam inspired, crochet journey started a few months after the lockdown began... since then I have made several bees, an army of whales, an among us guy, a snowman, and now come the dinos!!!!
I'm currently making an army of tiny triceratops. I just got some yarn today to make a super chunky one and some embroidery thread I had to make a super tiny one!
Hi there! I'm not sure if you'll see this comment, but you're very helpful when explaining on how to do the stitches. I struggle with trying to read out patterns, and seeing you do the stitch helps immensely. Hopefully I'll be able to make a triceratops and make you proud 🥺
I am Russian and decided to tie such a dinosaur according to your video. Without subtitles it was clear and interesting. I'm glad that there are such videos on UA-cam, this is my first toy!!!
I wasn't looking for this, but now I am so grateful. I fell in love with your work, specially since I am a dinosaur lover. You are so freaking talented and a good teacher. God bless you and thank you so much for sharing this amazing gift.
My little cousin is in love with Dinosaurs! I’m just starting to learn how to crochet so I’m going to try to make this for her, I’ll try making her a few and I’ll update my comment after I attempt making one, this is during the whole pandemic stuff of 2020 so let’s see if I can learn how to crochet during Quarantine
I’m a newbie to crochet, having successfully picked it up about a month ago. Your projects are adorable, and your instructions are so clear for any beginner to follow. Of course, the lighting on the video helps a lot to make watching how to do the unfamiliar stitches so much easier! I can’t wait to try some of these on my own! If you can do basic, and I mean BARE BASIC crochet stitches (chain, single, and double) you can follow along without TOO much difficulty while improving and picking up new stitches.
I didn't know anything about crochet before starting this cute dinosaur. It was lucky I even had a hook at home. Even though it took me about a week to finish this half an hour piece, it really was fun! I watched the video on 0,5 speed and still stopped it every two seconds to watch exactly what he was doing. Englisch isn't my first lenguage so I didn't even know the words he used, but he still managed to make me understand what I had to do. During the whole process there was only one time where I had to look something up, but everything else was explained so well and step by step that even a beginner like me understood what to do. Thank you very much, thanks to this video I turned out to make a beautiful, not quite perfect, but decent birthday gift for a close friend of mine. My dinosaur doesn't look quite as refined as the one in the video and has kind of a tilted face, but I am so happy with it. I just saw the thumbnail of the video and randomly wanted to give it a shot and now I'm so happy and proud to have my finished piece. This is a great video! :)
If you want more dinos I have a bunch more video tutorials and patterns, and even a crochet kit with all the materials needed right here: www.ClubCrochet.com/DINO
Made two of these as my first attempt at crocheting. One for my cat and one for my baby cousin. Both can't stop chewing on them so I'll call it a success.
Oh that’s so cute! I will make it for my cats also :) Might need something different for the eyes though, they are too crazy and might pull it out and eat it 😂
@@juliadandy6019 I knotted up some black yarn and attached it the same way you would for the horns since I don't have the eyes that Louis uses. If you wrap the yarn two or three times (depending on yarn and tension) when making a normal knot instead of the standard one, then the knot ends up being about the same size as the 6mm found in most patterns. For anything larger, I'd magic loop it and attach the tiny round as a flat button eye instead. Hope this helps!
I made one for q friend who loves dinos, the look on her face was priceless. Can't wait to learn to how to make my own patterns! Something I have always wanted to learn
I absolutely love this tutorial, especially how you described all the different kind of stitches and walked the viewer through, instead of fast forwarding, and this really helped me a ton! Wonderful job!❤️😌
Club Crochet it’s been a few years since I’ve crocheted and so I’m getting back into the hang of it, but practice makes perfect, so I believe that you have improved!
Club Crochet I thankfully found a new pack of them that I hadn't opened yet so I was able to make these in all the colours of the rainbow. I'll soon have to order more again.
Oh my - this saved me from pure boredom. Finally catched Corona after two years clear and needed something small to do in between the many, many naps. I just finished my first little one in about eeehhh, two and a half hours with lots of breaks. Loved it, will create many more to give to all my friends. Thank you!
super cute triceratops and very clear instructions. you're the first person to explain the invisible decrease in a way I can remember also, I'm impressed that you don't loose count even though you use no stitch marker and talk a lot!
I've made 3 of these in different colours for friends and everyone absolutely LOVES them! Having these videos is a lifesaver since I'm new to crochet and the visual is sooooo helpful! I've also made the seahorse and now moving on the bumblebee 😁 keep em' coming!
You should totally consider becoming a member on the site! Every pattern I make there has a full video tutorial just like this one and a full PDF, expertly designed webpage, plus you can even get the same materials I use in the videos mailed to your door! www.clubcrochet.com
I know this is two years after this video came out and i know some other people have done this Dino but i would very much like to see you crochet a Parasaurolophus. Its my favorite...even if you don’t I’m sure ill be making a little Dino friend anyway! Loved the video
I actually hate most crochet tutorials because they skip through lots of the steps, but your video was so easy to follow. Definitely going to make myself a collection of dinosaurs.
And I actually decided to get a membership due to this video because I wanted to make the other dinosaurs as well and now I’m working on a stegosaurus. Once I have one of each I’m going to make some as cat toys for my fur babies.
This baby was the reason I tried crocheting!! Took me many attempts and your baby octopus came first (for some reason he was easier), but today I finished the dino! he’s small and fat and adorable and I love him Thanks for the tutorial :D
This is the MOST HELPFUL tutorial I have ever used. Nothing went wrong 😅 and everything was clearly explained. Me and him also croshet at the same speed so I didn’t have to pause the video once ❤ thank you so much! I’m also new to amagurumi so it’s so rewarding to finish my first peace!
Omg this channel is perfect I’ve been looking at crotchet for a while and my mum bought me a magazine full of everything I need to begin crotchet I have no clue where to begin and my six year old sister has decided that I need to make her a dinosaur and a snoopy dog so wether she wants one or not she’s getting one of these 😂
I have decided to learn to croquet. Edit: Just realized how complicated yet simple this is so imma practice and when I'm good enough I'll make this so its bookmarked for now I'M BACK I ALMOST FORGOT BUT I'VE LEARNED LET ME TRY THIS RQ
Oh my I'm so excited for learning how to design and make my own creatures! Most crocheters just want to show you how to make a pattern. But what's a crocheter without a pattern. I have been searching for a designer and teacher, to teach me how to make shapes, design, and the whole process! Yay. I'm going to get my paid subscription right now.❤
My grand daughter wanted to learn how to crochet from a "professional." She and Me`me` sat down together to make this. Very easy and simple directions for 12 year old to watch, rewind and repeat to learn and make a "stuffie" for herself.. Half done in one sitting and now can crochet, count and read her yarn and work. Now just practice so she can make with or for friends.
What I love about this pattern is besides the horns, there is no sewing on major pieces like the legs and tail, sewing on parts is my least favorite part of crochet projects lol any chance you could do a mini Dragon like this? Thank you for this free tutorial!
I started crocheting thanks to this video. Great tutorial even for begginers but i reccomend learning all of the elements from the discription. It's much easier ;)
I started crochet with this amazingly cute triceratops because my boyfriend insisted I make it for him (he's so adorable!) and I loved every minute of it! I struggled a great deal at first but thanks to your patient explanations I ended up so pleased with the result and proud of myself that I think I'll be making a few more of those ones in the near future ;) Anyway, thank you so much, it's really great to be taught by someone who seems as passionate as you! Hope you're doing great and can't wait to show you the results!
this is the first time i've seen one of your videos, and it's already super clear that you have a real passion for what you're doing. it makes me so much more invested in your videos because you're happy and give thorough explanations :)
I loved this so much, the way you describe how to do thing is really clear and helpful, and your small talk was interesting and friendly. My tiny Dino turned out perfect, thank you so much!! Definitely going to make more for my cat to play with!
I saw this dinosaur in my reccomended over a year ago when I didn't even know what crochet is. It convinced me to start crocheting And now I've been crocheting over a year and finally would call myself good at it I've come back to make the protect that started it all off
My son asked me to make this for him, I was super scared because I am still pretty new to crochet. I absolutely loved this video! you made it so easy to follow and it was such a fun little project! I look forward to making more!
Tip: no need to clip the end of the horns after attaching them, the extra yarn can help to fill in the head. I use scraps to stuff my stuffies all the time
I just learned how to crochet through this video. I wasn't planning on learning how to crochet but when UA-cam blessed me by recommending this lovely video to me I couldn't help it. 10/10, cute video, my triceratops boi looks a little wonky but I love him. Thank you.
I'm impressed with your explaining skills because I came to this video with no clue how to do this and I have a learning disability so the fact that this is making sense to me while I'm making this is amazing. I'm definitely gonna subscribe
Ah I love it!!! Thank you! I have a 4 hour commute 4 days a week and I’m thinking of taking my crochet supplies and just making little dinos and other little toys to give to students around campus.
This is the first pattern I follow on my own, and it was so much fun to make!! I'm incredibly pleased with my little smolcerotops, I love it!! Thank you so much!!
I finally attempted this and other than my poor choice of yarn color for the body it came out great! This is my most favorite amigurumi video tutorial so far. The yarn choice for the video is VERY readable so I could make sure I was on track.
I’ve currently made two of these, and I’m obsessed! These were my first ever amigurumi attempted, and I’m so happy they turned out well! Brilliant tutorial, clear and easy to follow, thank you! I tend to slow the video down to 0.75 so I can follow along better. I will post some photos on Instagram and tag you when I get a chance to 😊 Update: I have now made 6 of these. I am addicted and have the urge to create an army of Tiny “Terry” the Triceratops’. 😂
This is the hardest crochet pattern I’ve ever tried for no reason. My autistic ahh bf loves triceratops so we wanted to make them together little did we know that these absolute hell creatures will come to haunt our nightmares. the triceratops of doom will always be a cherished memory 😭🩷

I strugled a lot with the counting of stitches while making the ball, but the way you explained it was so much easier! Thanks a lot!
Completed the Chubzilla last night, did the triceratops this evening! They're all so adorable and fun, thanks again for the tutorial!! Had a lot of fun making both of these. Your instructions are great! I can't believe you don't use a stitch marker though!! I'd be so lost without it haha

My daughter is absolutely MAD about dinos, especially this one, and so I knew I had to make one when I found it. It took me about an hour to do (I had to keep stopping the vid) but the video was very clear and easy to understand. I made one in DK yarn and another in a super soft chunky yarn and they are both SO cute! I will definitely be making more :D
I've only been crocheting for a couple weeks with your 101 videos, and the motivation to start was this little guy showing up on my feed! It took me a day or so but I was able to struggle through making this dino, my first amigurumi and non-101 project. I spent Xmas eve laboring and had him ready for xmas day. Turned out pretty good I think. Thank you so much for the patterns and clear tutorials!

Tip for anyone making this: use the yarn you trimmed off while adding things (like the horns and eyes if you sewed the eyes) to help stuff it. It’s only a little waste but it still helps plus you use a little less real stuffing.
Thank you for the tip! Also try fluffng up the yarn by splitting it multiple time to make it feel like stuffing!
This is a great tip!!
I really like how he doesn't skip parts that are just 1sc in each stitch. He keeps going with you, so you don't have to constantly stop the video. This works out for me, but I know many of the faster crocheters are too quick for him and have to fast-forward the video to the next part. Thanks for the great video!
~A little advice~
I use a stitch marker for every row. I get lost if I don't have it, and I use a plastic piece or a bobby pin. Sometimes I just use a different color of yarn. I hope that this will help lots of beginners!
I bought a 120 pack of stitch markers on Amazon for $5!! They save my life with these little guys. I use chunky yarn so mine ended up the size of my forearm but I still think he’s little☺️
I’ve tried that and it keeps going wrong I don’t know what I’m doing wrong I’m counting right up until the pointy row then it goes wrong
Thanks for that tip! 🫶🏻
@@Jakkunouno Same I don't know what to do.
Thank you so much!! Yah I have big plans for Amigurumi 101, but it's just tough to find the time to make the videos sometimes >.

PLEASE more dinos!! Any Dino, they're all great, just like the tutorial :) (okay but maybe a Pterodactyl first)
Yes. Dinos are the greatest of friends.
Bracciosaurus :)
Dino Saur Love that your name matches your vibe 😝
I’ve only been crocheting for a week so as soon as I can afford to buy more stuff I’ll be making this
Wasn’t actually watching, just wanted company while I worked on my project. Your voice is so comforting
The first crochet project I actually finished!! Thank you for this great tutorial. I love the fact you don't edit and cut parts of the video, you show everything from the beginning to the end- makes it so much easier to understand!
We watching this knowing damn well, I don’t know how to crochet
Hahahaha if you wanna learn I made this free series! www.crocheting101.com

Same, I've been binge-watching crochet videos (mainly Amigurumi) however, I plan on learning
Same but it's 1am and I'm planning on attempting crochet tomorrow. I'm doing it because I just got gifted crochet hooks, knitting needles and wool :)
Im so amazed with your confidence in not using a marker. Youre the first crochet master that dont use marker in their video👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 so awesome
Lately i have been feeling kind of lonely, and I know my grandma has too, and she has been crocheting for years, so i decided to take it up too. I havent told her yet, but I am making this for her as a surprise to show her that I’ve started doing something she loves! Thank you so much for this tutorial!
Finally! A very clean and clear crochet tutorial! I love how you show each different stitch slowly, great for learning!
I know this is old but I don’t care. This is officially my new favorite crochet channel. I’ve never found someone that explains so clearly before! You’re a blessing!
It's not that old! Hahaha. We're actually voting on this months theme now and more dinos are on the list! You should vote! members.clubcrochet.com/
My self taught, UA-cam inspired, crochet journey started a few months after the lockdown began... since then I have made several bees, an army of whales, an among us guy, a snowman, and now come the dinos!!!!
Me too!!!🙂😎
I'm currently making an army of tiny triceratops. I just got some yarn today to make a super chunky one and some embroidery thread I had to make a super tiny one!
Same! I learned the same way and time- so many hats, scarves, some blankets, little whales and octopus and jellyfish!
:ooo
how ya doing
update??
Update failed 😞
Its been 3 years, how is it going?
I’m a newbie to crochet, having successfully picked it up about a month ago. Your projects are adorable, and your instructions are so clear for any beginner to follow. Of course, the lighting on the video helps a lot to make watching how to do the unfamiliar stitches so much easier! I can’t wait to try some of these on my own! If you can do basic, and I mean BARE BASIC crochet stitches (chain, single, and double) you can follow along without TOO much difficulty while improving and picking up new stitches.
Wow!! Thank you so much for this wonderful review! I really appreciate it and I'm so glad my pattern was so well received!
As a beginner to crotchet this pattern was surprisingly easy to follow. I love my little Dino so much. Thank you.
T rex is my favorite. Im not handy enough to do these, but i just like watching
Just finished editing the video for the Trex today! Coming soon!

I don’t have those eyes what should i do?? :(
Made two of these as my first attempt at crocheting. One for my cat and one for my baby cousin. Both can't stop chewing on them so I'll call it a success.
Oh that’s so cute! I will make it for my cats also :)
Might need something different for the eyes though, they are too crazy and might pull it out and eat it 😂
@@juliadandy6019 I knotted up some black yarn and attached it the same way you would for the horns since I don't have the eyes that Louis uses.
@@AuhidaChowdhury it helps so much!! Thank you!! Can't wait to try it =D
I have no clue how to crochet but I feel the need to watch this video multiple times. This is my version of therapy.
Thank you so much!! I feel like I’ve gotten even better since this video but I’m not sure haha

i’m two years late but these dinos are adorable and i really like the way you explain things, it’s very clear on what to do and how to do it
Thank you so much :) Never too late to crochet dinosaurs lol
This Triceratops is absolutely amazing and so adorable! I crocheted along with your video and I love my little dino (Triceratops is my fav dino
I just ordered like 600 of them O.o
Club Crochet I thankfully found a new pack of them that I hadn't opened yet so I was able to make these in all the colours of the rainbow. I'll soon have to order more again.
Oh my - this saved me from pure boredom. Finally catched Corona after two years clear and needed something small to do in between the many, many naps. I just finished my first little one in about eeehhh, two and a half hours with lots of breaks. Loved it, will create many more to give to all my friends. Thank you!
super cute triceratops and very clear instructions. you're the first person to explain the invisible decrease in a way I can remember
also, I'm impressed that you don't loose count even though you use no stitch marker and talk a lot!
I've made 3 of these in different colours for friends and everyone absolutely LOVES them! Having these videos is a lifesaver since I'm new to crochet and the visual is sooooo helpful! I've also made the seahorse and now moving on the bumblebee 😁 keep em' coming!

And I actually decided to get a membership due to this video because I wanted to make the other dinosaurs as well and now I’m working on a stegosaurus. Once I have one of each I’m going to make some as cat toys for my fur babies.
This baby was the reason I tried crocheting!!

I just finished one.. it took me about an hour and a half but it was soooooo easy and I enjoyed it.. thank you for this lovely pattern..
