Nymph & Dry Fly Selection - How to Choose A Fly For Fly Fishing

There are thousands of flies and imitations available, but when it comes to nymphing and dry fly fishing in New Zealand, these are some of my personal favorite. It is not a must pattern, but a few of my most effective patterns over the last few years fishing the Mataura, Clutha, Canals (Twizel & Tekapo), and some of the rivers in MacKenzie Basin in New Zealand.

Hooks are an amazing tool. It seems like almost however it ends up in the mouth of a fish, as long as you put tension on the line you will hook up.
