I tie lighter colored versions of most of these in dun tan colors and carry sharpies in brown red black purple and green dab dab dab and you ca. Go darker.
It's only hard if you make that way..... part of fishing is just figuring it out on your own. There is no "secret hidden code" or anything. Just dig through your boxes until you find one that works. Most "experts" are generally full of shit just a FYI
Thank for adding the sizes!!
This is great for someone like me. I'm a bit of a novice, limited time. Keeping it simple. Thanks!
Great advice - those are many of my go-to flies for trout as well.
Thank you! This is literally exactly the advice I needed, had my first fish of the year the other day and trying to get back in the rhythm.
Always good Mr R thank you
Thanks! Tight lines!!
Thanks Tom.
Another great video!
Excellent advice thank you !
Nice video, and flys good for perch or sunnies
very helpful. earned a sub 👍🏼
Great advice. I now need to buy more flies!!
All are classics!
For the dry flies, I would go for a Red Tag, a Palmer and a foamhead Sedge. Otherwise I can totally relate to your fly selection. Great info!
lots of good ones, i also swear by a black zonker for murky water or overcast weather
I would choose a clouser over the zonker is about my only difference
"Simplifly your fly box". LOL.
How old are you? I'm 69 I'm just starting fishing again. I'm not too old.?

Wrong video title... Did not explain at all how to pick a fly.. more like "Tom's 12- The Twelve Trout Flies That Work Everywhere"
