You make me wish I still had a bathtub!!! When we remodeled our bathroom, we put in a huge tile shower, you could fit 3 grown adults in that monster and it has all the bells and whistles. The huge flat clear glass doors, the rain and wall shower heads, the wand. It has room for a large bench seat. Yep it's beautiful. We did it because we also are in our mid fifties and figured neither of us would be able to climb out of a tub in our 70's, lol! The bathroom it's self can have a large wheel chair in their with plenty of room. We have regrets now as we miss our tub! So I think hubby is going to buy a free standing tub and add it. We have plenty of room! (When our daughter was here she thought it was cool because she and all 4 of her kids, all under 7 years could be in there being bathed, lol). She wants one now. Thank God my husband is a contractor! I really like your new hand press, it seems to work great. I may get one myself. I just can't give what they want for the electric and air compressor models. It's a lot of money for what it does! I think it is a bit of a rip off. My husband says for the parts used, it's not worth it and the warranty isn't good! So even though I could probably quadruple my sales with it, it still makes no sense. I thought they'd come down in price as they sold more of them, but no, just more expensive! Ridiculous. It burns me too because they give them to influencers for nothing and we have to pay the big bucks. That is bad business in my opinion! Jill
It's so funny you mentioned that about your bathroom remodel, we currently don't have a tub in our master bath either, and are looking at freestanding ones too❣️ Mid fifties here too, but I miss a good soak! And yes, those fancy bomb presses look wonderful, but are really pricey... The hand press is working great for me so far💕
Fun to join you for this adventure in bath bombs Ellen. You do such a great job explaining your process. I appreciate the recipe as well. Have a blessed week. 🦋
I love your bath bombs. They are so cute. I have only made on successful bath bomb. I decided to go with a bath melt instead. I was having trouble getting the bath melt to stay solid (in Texas weather) without using at least 45% cocoa butter. Which as you know cocoa butter can very expensive compared to other butters. Well, your tip about cream of tartar has really helped with my bath melts. I was able to lower the cocoa butter by 15%. That makes it a bit easier on the pocketbook. Thank you for making your videos.
I add a smidge of pink to my purples, especially BlackBerry and that takes care of the gray in my CP. Maybe it will work for you too. Love your soaps and bath bombs.
Ok I'm inspired! Must go make bathbombs 👋 BTW I LOVE the black rasp vanilla scent! I made soap and lotion bars in this scent and my customers love them! Thank you for sharing!
I have tryed your recipe on my moon press to make my bath bomb they are the best i have made yet this is my 2 go recipe now order some donut molds frome cada mold when they come i will be making them thank u so much for the recipe u are a amazing
I have been making body shop products off and on for several years. For some reason, bath bombs are my kryptonite 🤣 I am never satisfied with my finished product. I tried this recipe and had cracking when they began to dry. I am going to order some more citric acid and try again. I am 100% positive the fault is mine. One of these days I'm going to get it! Lol. I love your videos!
Cant wait to try these I love buying bath bombs for my son who is 5... That blackberry mica causes really bad acceleration in my CP soap.. but it is such a pretty color
Well done. I have to say when you were pouring the drizzle, I was like the mess. No. Have something underneath. But cleaning was a breeze. But, if I ever get to your level, I will put down some wax or freezer paper. Lol.
Thank you Ellen! I've wanted to try bath bombs, but I also have arthritis and was worried the pressing would aggravate my pain (can't afford the hydraulic presses). I'm hoping to add these products to my soap lines sometime in the future! I really appreciate you sharing the recipe and techniques! You have helped and encouraged me so much with starting my lil business! I don't know how to thank you; words don't seem like enough. I will try to always give you credit when I make any videos and encouraged subscribers (if I get any 😆) to watch your channel! Have a Blessed day!! Diane
Those bath bombs are too adorable!!! Great colors, and lovely fragerance! I love watching your video's. Always happy to get a notification on a new video of yours!!! Until the next video🥰
Your bath bomb donuts look like so much fun to make. You do such a nice job with explaining everything while giving us the recipe. I have never made them before, but you make me want to try! I love Natures Garden Raspberry Vanilla Fragrance Oil, a top fragrance of mine. I have used it before in melt and pour soap and it smells sooo delicious and the soap holds the fragrance for a long time. I also am a big fan of Nurtures soaps micas and glitter.
The doughnuts are so cute and my favourite to, i adore the black raspberry and vanilla fragrance oil it slows down trace in soap for me, that Cheshire Cat purple mica is beautiful you can't go wrong with Nurture Soap micas can you. I had carpal tunnel in my right hand really bad, I was constantly dropping things and I had the operation on it and it was like new when it was all healed.
I love when Ellen describes the fragrance! :) Sounds fantastic. What a fun gift for a friend or yourself. I do shy away from the sphere bombs. I keep thinking they would break during shipping... :/
Great video, you explain so well,it is easy to follow. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge and your receipt. I want to try this as an activity with girlfriends, it looks so much fun!!! I just subscribed to see more of your crsft
Love watching your tutorials. I actually made the Donut scented bathbombs from one of your other videos. What were the scent and color that you used here? Thanks 🤗
I get a kick out of your new words 🤗🤭 I tend to make new words too. I think I may try making some without slsa next time. I thought it had a more important role in the bomb for some reason. Kinda like the polysorbate 80 but I'm not sure why I thought that lol
When I make round bombs, I place them on bubble wrap and rotate them often while drying.. But my preference is donuts or disk bath bombs, they are easier to label and ship for me.
I love it! I love your work so much! Do cylinder bath bomb molds from other companies work with the Bath Bomb X Press too? Or can the bathbombs only from that company work? Thank you for your help!
@@EllenRuthSoap Thank you for letting me know! I want to start the bath bomb creating but especially want to start the cold process soap making journey (I've wanted to make soap for 9-10 years now but was busy getting my doctorate). The funny thing is I've never even tried handmade soap before...just natural grocery store soap. I am going to drop by your online shop see if you have any dairy free bars to try my first handmade soap ever. : )
Hi ellen I tried this recipe yesterday and it was a total fail, i am not sure what exactly happened but the mixture would not stay together or it did stay together but when pressed into the cada donut mold (Without a press just hand pressing) they were crumbling out of the mold i did however use a different brand of witch hazel (Dollar store brand didn't think it would matter much) and queen for a day mica from nurture soaps (just a tad bit more than a teaspoon) and it would not stay formed at all please help
also if 1 side of the donut mold came off and was perfect the other side would still be completely stuck in the mold and it would just crack it in half and i would have to literally scrap the other side out because it would not un stick do you have any suggestions please? thank you
I would suggest playing with the wet to dry ingredient ratio, if it's crumbling try spritzing the mix with witch hazel or alcohol to help it stick together better. Just remember to add in tiny amounts...
@@EllenRuthSoap I did that but sadly after adding more witch hazel it was getting worse and worse would not stick after adding mica queen for a day + 4 spritzes of witch hazel
Make the magnesium oil for your arthritis 💐💐💐. Great video. Thankyou for sharing ✌️✌️✌️
I have been binge watching your videos! I’m really loving them.
Yay! Thank you!
Gorgeous ❤
Bathbomb X-press is the bomb! I love them!
I’ll be 50 next year and the mixing alone makes my Carpel tunnel kick up a notch. I love my hand press.
Yes 👍 it was much easier
Très jolies merci ❤❤❤

Thank you so much. You make soaping and creating bath and body products so enjoyable. I’m just getting started and you’re helping me tremendously!
You are so welcome!🥰
I add the SLSA after adding the wet ingredients, covering with the mix before stirring. Helps tremendously to keep the SLSA from being airborn.
That's a great idea!
I just love the hand press. I got it for my birthday and now I e been making tons of bath bombs! I hope you enjoy it!

Great job Ellen! -Momo
I always use dye for bath bombs. No ring on the tub. Does not stain. Also colors the water
Sounds pretty❣️
Just visited your shop, beautiful soaps..too bad for me so far away in Quebec Canada because they are enticing. Love the colors and scents!
Thanks for checking it out 💕 I wish international shipping wasn't so outrageous 😘

Hi Ellen, did you get a chance to pick up Palo Santo? It's really nice from Nurture Soap!
Not yet…😉
Hi, would omitting the slsa change the amount of wet ingredients needed? Thanks 😊
Yes, I talk a bit about that in the video.
Love watching your tutorials. I actually made the Donut scented bathbombs from one of your other videos. What were the scent and color that you used here? Thanks 🤗
Thanks for watching! I give all the info in the video.

They're great without the slsa, just not bubbly 😉
Hey Ellen. How do you keep your round bath bombs from going flat?
When I make round bombs, I place them on bubble wrap and rotate them often while drying.. But my preference is donuts or disk bath bombs, they are easier to label and ship for me.
@@EllenRuthSoap I prefer the flat style also I was wanting to try round but my round ones I made earlier are funny looking now lol
Does the drizzle ever activate the bath bomb to melt ?
I haven't had an issue with that, probably because it's oil based and not a true liquid...
Could one use liquid cocoa butter?
Solid cocoa butter is what you need so it hardens up when cooled.
I just have a question about the frosting recipe. May I use coconut oil instead of cocoa butter?
It's a much lower melt point than cocoa butter.
@@EllenRuthSoap thank you so much for getting back with me! So, do you think it would be okay?
@@EllenRuthSoap Thank you so much for getting backing with me! I have another question of you do not mind: How about using hard shea butter?
I love it! I love your work so much! Do cylinder bath bomb molds from other companies work with the Bath Bomb X Press too? Or can the bathbombs only from that company work? Thank you for your help!
Thanks 🥰 the press would work with any Bomb mold, not just Cada molds😉

Do I have to make any adjustments to the recipe If I omit the slsa?
I might bump up the cream of tartar just a bit...

Can epsom salt be added? If so how much for this recipe?
Yes, I have some earlier bath bomb videos with epsom salt, with recipes😉
Can you tell me what the fda requirements to make and sale bath bombs. Or do they have any regulations on them?
I recommend Modern Soapmaking for good info on regulations
Personally I would call it a strudel but thats just me
😉❣️
Sorry, it's from Micas and more lol!
