Greetings! I'm confused on all the brushless options for the scx24. Looks like you have tried quite a few options on these little crawlers - I've seen . Have you tried the nano beast from Mofo? What about the surpass? I assume the Furitek esc's (tegu and lizard) are the best to use.
Yep tried them all! I found the surpass and started using it before anyone lol. Back when there were no other options. The mofo nano is really good along with the Furitek micro Komodo. I have had 3 of the MofoRC nanos quit on me so idk about it for durability honestly. I’ve got a couple Furiteks that are going strong so far. I prefer to run the lizard pro in everything at this point. It’s just so small and works so well.

With the brushless set up . Not sure if you have seen moforc.com but he has some cool things like flexblades that work very well . All you guys making these videos give me so many ideas . I have a complete scx24 that I’m wanting to start building that will be basically built from test parts. Wheels and tires and a couple small parts are about all will be carried over from a complete rtr lol

Those are from Nexx racing. I’ll have to try gettin a link for them. Furitek sent them to me. I believe they are involved with Nexx as well. Not sure the relationship there but they sent me a bunch of Nexx racing stuff for the kyosho. They aren’t beadlocks but I like the look of them.

It was actually just a dji osmo pocket with a good rode external mic. I’m sending it in to be repaired but probably buying another one in the meantime. That audio drives me nuts. Big difference!

Honestly.. in your opinion lizard or tegu ? I’m actually gonna build a new rig but I’m trying too see witch one is better or what not can’t decide so I’m wondering if you can shine some light to this n make my decision a little more easier ??
@@2fmrc Yeahh I so would go with the pro but they don’t have it in stock n who knows when it will be in stock ima have to wait for the pro because I know everybody is all over that now. So for the time being I got 2 options lol. Tegu or lizard lol. Iv tried and have 3 lizards except one like melted the wires off or something idk but I have no experience in soldering so I’m screwed on that lizard. And my local hobby shop told me they charge $40 bucks an hour to do any kinda job with customers. Bull!! So there for it left me to get a new one but I also have a build going on I started n never finished so now ima get to it but idk witch ESC to go with for now. That’s why i decided to asked you if that was cool todo. Iv helped me out with so many other things im just comfortable asking you lol.

Any idea of a higher kv/less turn motor to make these scream? Perhaps a new project? Speedy bouncer? Mofo RC chassis comes to mind.
Yeah I’m probably going to work on this soon hopefully. The scx24 will always be a bit limited due to the worm gears. You can swap the axles and get rid of those but that kinda defeats the purpose really. Then it’s not really much of an scx24 anymore lol
@@2fmrc Well for me the only reason I'm curious about it is that I've got so many spare parts I can basically build another 24. A local dude here came up with these neat bouncer conversions kits for cheap, so I was kind of trying to figure out a way to really go bouncer with it. The worm gears are one of my biggest obstacles. I'm not RC smart enough to get around it. Tempted to see if I can get one of those stupid high RPM Orlando bloom motors to work and go fast with it. My hobby store has a bunch of them and they're cheap. I saw a video of one of those with a 2k rpm motor and it looked fun, then saw a 4k rpm motor at my LHS for 20 bucks.
Lizard is due in a few days. But now i have also just installed some headlights. The Lizard can't power LEDs I realise. But can I still have the LED plugged into the stock ESC, and power the lizard via pass though. Read some thing about ch2. does it have the right connector for this?. I haven't seen a wiring diagram for the lizard. I can see 2 off flying leads and 2 off plugs on the board.
So the lizard will plug straight into the channel 2 port on the stock setup. Then you should be able to run your lights off the led port on the stock setup. I haven’t tried lights on mine cause I rarely ever run any but I don’t see why it wouldn’t. The lizard only has a plug that goes into your receiver of choice (or channel 2 on stock setup) a plug for the battery and one for the Bluetooth dongle.
I have a couple builds in the works and im thinking of getting a few furitek tegu's. One is gonna be for crawling one is gonna be for speed and another for what ever comes to mind. I wanted to see if you knew if this lil guy can handle a 9500kv motor for my speed/drift build. If its not able to do you know the highest kv it can run. Thanks and keep the awesome videos coming. 🤘

Thanks! I would say if you went with a bit bigger pinion you could get a decent amount of speed out of it and be able to keep up. I haven’t tried to get too much speed out of mine but it’s a pretty solid increase just going to the 3s.

What are you using for suspension links and shocks? And can the different ESCs be used with the included remote? If not what would you recommend for a remote?
I’m running the oil filled carismas on the silver rig with the long links front and rear. Yeah you can use the escs with the stock remote. If you wanna replace it with a very good transmitter I’d highly suggest the flysky gt5. I use it for most everything. Great for 4ws also!
What did you do to fry the bt dongle?? I have a lizard ordered and i dont wanna mess it up. The pn90t motor wont let my throttle and turn all the way simultaneously. Tested it in both v1 and v2 and it runs okay in my v2 setup but will need a bec setup i believe to be smoother. But im also not sure
Between the lizard and other one, are there any features or parameters that differentiate them? I'd imagine the smaller one may have less parameters to tune in the app. Anything of significance?
Honestly I haven’t noticed anything in the app that the Tegu has that the lizard don’t. I may need to pay closer attention and make sure of that before I say 100% but there’s no glaring difference so far.
It originally came off a little toy truck from a loves gas station. It had metal panels so I pulled those and cut some out of lexan for it. The roof is actually cut from an orange juice container because I ran out of lexan pieces 😂
will that coupon code work with the upcoming kyosho brushless solution? Also lol currently working on a solution on making the hot racing shocks with the kinetic double barrel extensions. Two things need to change I think. 1. Servo I think will be better mounted on the axle for more consistent turning....which Idk how I will do it. 2. figure out a solution for the drive line to handle the greater travel of the shocks .....again still hashing this all out. Let me know if you have any ideas.
The coupon should work. I assume anyway! I’m not much on a chassis mounted servo. Always seems like I get a ton of bump steer that drives me nuts. It would be nice to have a moa setup for one. Then we could get all that flex!
You can use the board with the stock transmitter and receiver or replace the stock stuff with your own transmitter and receiver. The stock transmitter won’t work with any other receiver that I know of.

Completely off topic I've got my wife talking to let me get into this hobby and I'm just wanting to know can you put 1.0 beadlocks on an SCX-24 cuz it doesn't seem like the tires that I would like to have come in a 1-in tire they only come in 1.9
1.9 would be way huge on the scx24. They are 1.0 stock. Some guys put a custom 1.2 wheel on the scx24 but to me it looks too big really. Rc4wd has the best selection of 1.0 tires but they still don’t have a ton of options. It’s growing all the time though. Lots of companies jumping on board with the 1/24 scale stuff now so new stuff is releasing all the time.
I've got a set of stamped RC4WD wheels and their Patagonia tires. I love the tires, but not a huge fan of the wheels. Got a set of the Treals on the way to try. IMO, part of the fun is trying the different things. I might finally understand why all the women in my fam love shopping for shoes.
Yes I really like them so far. They do great on my course! I really like the size of them as well. They are close to the size of the Patagonia’s so it’s another option around that size.
Can you run the furitek esc with the factory scx24 transmitter? I dont have a brushless motor. I did order a barrage for now. I only have the factory radio.
Yes. You just plug the Furitek into the channel 2 port on the stock esc/receiver and use the stock remote. It basically bypasses the stock esc and used it for a receiver.

I'm currently working on getting my c10 running brushless, I got the furitek moter but didn't know that the stock receiver wouldn't work with the moter and dosnt fit after the moter is installed. Thinking of get the tegu or lizard but don't know if the which one to get. I also noticed that the stock esc is attached to the front shock mounts. When I attached the shocks I have to the frame they fall out. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!! Can someone help me out and show me how they have their c10 set up with the furitek setup??!
Shouldn’t be an issue. I don’t run rear steer with the stock setup so with a different receiver it shouldn’t have an issue. I would think it would work with the stock setup tho. I just don’t like that full left,full right stuff with the stock esc and rear steer
@@2fmrc Yeah. I'm not a fan of the 'stock' rear steer either. I want to be able to play with it more than that allows. Gonna try to get it all working on my radiolink using the 3 pos switches. I'm still new to all of this, but I jumped in with both feet (and my whole wallet, lol) and I'm learning a ton and having a lot of fun. Having said that, I appreciate you man. I'm always learning something or being inspired to do/build something from your videos. I'm glad you're you, (read obviously generous and genuine) man.

What shocks do you have on the truck with the grey body? I’m looking for some long shocks with good flex. Also, any recommendations for bodies that have a low cg and size to minimize rub? Something along the lines of a rock bouncer look.
Those are the aluminum oil filled carisma shocks. As far as bodies I’d say either one of these buggy bodies from wal mart or loves or even the power wagon body has good clearance. I love my cage setup from shapeways. Super light up top and plenty clearance.
@@2fmrc Do the were the shocks difficult to mount? How did you mount them? I heard that the eye that the screw goes through to mount is awfully large, and can be hard to mount onto the scx24. And they come with the spring right? It doesn’t look like they come with springs where I’m looking.
@@camerontotino4592 the msg-1e are the ones I have. The eyelet is pretty big on them. All I did was slap a washer on a stock screw for the scx24 and mounted them up. Been running like that for a long time. Biggest issue is they almost always end up leaking. Most of mine don’t even have oil in them now. I just run them as they are lol
Yes. You’ll be using a new receiver with it and can set up rear steer very easily depending what transmitter and receiver you’re using. If using it with the stock receiver setup you’ll still be able to run the rear servo through the aux or ch3 switch if that’s how you prefer. My silver rig is running 4ws and the Tegu esc with a flysky gt5 transmitter. I highly recommend the flysky if going 4ws. You still able to run OK on 3s? I just installed my tegu and updated to 1.4 I also tried 1.3 and on 3s it had a delay on the gas and still goes after I let off... it sucks... it's still great on 2s
furitek website on the lizard says 3s now, but in other places it says thats the advantage of the tegu. Maybe the change was recent and not everything is updated, not sure. I would have rather had the smaller lizard but ordered the tegu to be safe. Does anyone know?
I really like the size of it also. 3s seemed like a big deal to me at one time but honestly I don’t use it much anymore in the scx24. Most the time I just run the stock battery lol

I spent most of the day believing I ordered the lizard and shouldve got the tegu after this video. Especially seeing the lizard doesn’t have led inputs my set up needs.. I checked my order to at least see when it’s coming and realized i accidentally ordered the tegu after all haha
It's killing me but (Taygoo) is how you say it (Tegu) a Tegu is a big lizard but they make pretty Decent pets if you handle them regularly if not u end up with one like my daughters who's a complete D she like hises at u if she doesn't want to be touched and their bite is no joke they can take a finger if they wanted .....but yeah sorry I love the vids but the T-juu thing was killing me

Tegu will not run outrunners on 3s properly on firmware 1.5. That current limiting delay on throttle on 3s is the stupidest idea I've seen in awhile. Defeats the whole purpose of volting up......

My buddy cody at my local hobby shop found a direct replacement brushless motor.
He has yet to try it.

Lizard Pro for me! With the lizard running 3s now I’m pretty much going with it every time. It’s just so nice and small!

What are the differences between ALL the SCX24 compatible ESC’s?

Got my Tegu and it had the Bullet connectors.
Nice! I thought they were supposed to come with them but the models I’ve received were just the beginnings of the final product so I wasn’t sure lol

What are you using for suspension links and shocks? And can the different ESCs be used with the included remote? If not what would you recommend for a remote?
I’m running the oil filled carismas on the silver rig with the long links front and rear. Yeah you can use the escs with the stock remote. If you wanna replace it with a very good transmitter I’d highly suggest the flysky gt5. I use it for most everything. Great for 4ws also!

What did you do to fry the bt dongle?? I have a lizard ordered and i dont wanna mess it up. The pn90t motor wont let my throttle and turn all the way simultaneously. Tested it in both v1 and v2 and it runs okay in my v2 setup but will need a bec setup i believe to be smoother. But im also not sure
Between the lizard and other one, are there any features or parameters that differentiate them? I'd imagine the smaller one may have less parameters to tune in the app. Anything of significance?
Honestly I haven’t noticed anything in the app that the Tegu has that the lizard don’t. I may need to pay closer attention and make sure of that before I say 100% but there’s no glaring difference so far.

It originally came off a little toy truck from a loves gas station. It had metal panels so I pulled those and cut some out of lexan for it. The roof is actually cut from an orange juice container because I ran out of lexan pieces 😂

1. Servo I think will be better mounted on the axle for more consistent turning....which Idk how I will do it.
2. figure out a solution for the drive line to handle the greater travel of the shocks .....again still hashing this all out.

The coupon should work. I assume anyway! I’m not much on a chassis mounted servo. Always seems like I get a ton of bump steer that drives me nuts. It would be nice to have a moa setup for one. Then we could get all that flex!

You can use the board with the stock transmitter and receiver or replace the stock stuff with your own transmitter and receiver. The stock transmitter won’t work with any other receiver that I know of.

Completely off topic I've got my wife talking to let me get into this hobby and I'm just wanting to know can you put 1.0 beadlocks on an SCX-24 cuz it doesn't seem like the tires that I would like to have come in a 1-in tire they only come in 1.9
1.9 would be way huge on the scx24. They are 1.0 stock. Some guys put a custom 1.2 wheel on the scx24 but to me it looks too big really. Rc4wd has the best selection of 1.0 tires but they still don’t have a ton of options. It’s growing all the time though. Lots of companies jumping on board with the 1/24 scale stuff now so new stuff is releasing all the time.
theres a couple available in 1.0 was actually just looking at the treals also think ive seen some on shapeways but those are plastic
I've got a set of stamped RC4WD wheels and their Patagonia tires. I love the tires, but not a huge fan of the wheels. Got a set of the Treals on the way to try. IMO, part of the fun is trying the different things. I might finally understand why all the women in my fam love shopping for shoes.

Yes I really like them so far. They do great on my course! I really like the size of them as well. They are close to the size of the Patagonia’s so it’s another option around that size.
Can you run the furitek esc with the factory scx24 transmitter?
I dont have a brushless motor. I did order a barrage for now. I only have the factory radio.
Yes. You just plug the Furitek into the channel 2 port on the stock esc/receiver and use the stock remote. It basically bypasses the stock esc and used it for a receiver.

@@2fmrc I am finishing my build on my gen 8, but once done I am going after my c10, I will click every affiliate link you post, and order if you have a solid build you recommend. You are a wizard with these. I have been quietly watching for awhile, I am really lost with the c10 and not sure what I should do to it. Did servo day one. Thats it.
I'm currently working on getting my c10 running brushless, I got the furitek moter but didn't know that the stock receiver wouldn't work with the moter and dosnt fit after the moter is installed. Thinking of get the tegu or lizard but don't know if the which one to get. I also noticed that the stock esc is attached to the front shock mounts. When I attached the shocks I have to the frame they fall out. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!! Can someone help me out and show me how they have their c10 set up with the furitek setup??!

Shouldn’t be an issue. I don’t run rear steer with the stock setup so with a different receiver it shouldn’t have an issue. I would think it would work with the stock setup tho. I just don’t like that full left,full right stuff with the stock esc and rear steer
@@2fmrc Yeah. I'm not a fan of the 'stock' rear steer either. I want to be able to play with it more than that allows. Gonna try to get it all working on my radiolink using the 3 pos switches. I'm still new to all of this, but I jumped in with both feet (and my whole wallet, lol) and I'm learning a ton and having a lot of fun. Having said that, I appreciate you man. I'm always learning something or being inspired to do/build something from your videos. I'm glad you're you, (read obviously generous and genuine) man.

What shocks do you have on the truck with the grey body? I’m looking for some long shocks with good flex. Also, any recommendations for bodies that have a low cg and size to minimize rub? Something along the lines of a rock bouncer look.
Those are the aluminum oil filled carisma shocks. As far as bodies I’d say either one of these buggy bodies from wal mart or loves or even the power wagon body has good clearance. I love my cage setup from shapeways. Super light up top and plenty clearance.
@@2fmrc Do the were the shocks difficult to mount? How did you mount them? I heard that the eye that the screw goes through to mount is awfully large, and can be hard to mount onto the scx24. And they come with the spring right? It doesn’t look like they come with springs where I’m looking.
@@camerontotino4592 the msg-1e are the ones I have. The eyelet is pretty big on them. All I did was slap a washer on a stock screw for the scx24 and mounted them up. Been running like that for a long time. Biggest issue is they almost always end up leaking. Most of mine don’t even have oil in them now. I just run them as they are lol

Yes. You’ll be using a new receiver with it and can set up rear steer very easily depending what transmitter and receiver you’re using. If using it with the stock receiver setup you’ll still be able to run the rear servo through the aux or ch3 switch if that’s how you prefer. My silver rig is running 4ws and the Tegu esc with a flysky gt5 transmitter. I highly recommend the flysky if going 4ws. I’ll be posting a video on it and how I run my 4ws with it very soon actually!

You still able to run OK on 3s? I just installed my tegu and updated to 1.4 I also tried 1.3 and on 3s it had a delay on the gas and still goes after I let off... it sucks... it's still great on 2s

furitek website on the lizard says 3s now, but in other places it says thats the advantage of the tegu. Maybe the change was recent and not everything is updated, not sure. I would have rather had the smaller lizard but ordered the tegu to be safe. Does anyone know?

I really like the size of it also. 3s seemed like a big deal to me at one time but honestly I don’t use it much anymore in the scx24. Most the time I just run the stock battery lol

It's killing me but (Taygoo) is how you say it (Tegu) a Tegu is a big lizard but they make pretty Decent pets if you handle them regularly if not u end up with one like my daughters who's a complete D she like hises at u if she doesn't want to be touched and their bite is no joke they can take a finger if they wanted .....but yeah sorry I love the vids but the T-juu thing was killing me

Tegu will not run outrunners on 3s properly on firmware 1.5. That current limiting delay on throttle on 3s is the stupidest idea I've seen in awhile. Defeats the whole purpose of volting up......
