I swapped my ultra VFD trans from stock with fusion pro to full lightweight gears and VFD hurtz dig with a holmes 540m outrunner and took off 129 grams of weight. Almost 5 ounces lost just from the gears and motor, plus added dig. Used this Python X esc too! I love how it drives, just waiting on that V1.1 update to work
Got that python x on a holmes hobbies revolver stubby 1800kv,mounted CAPRA AXLES power hobby lcg chassis 2 low transmission, stretched out wheel base with BUNCH of overdrive (about 60%). Its a killer mean CRAWLER. That python x its just SMOOTH with plenty of MODULATION! Very good TORQUE AND SUPER SMOOTH, A WINNER! THANKS JOE, THANKS A LOT!! ENJOY!
I have the same v3 2040kv revolver holmes motor, an got it brand new for $20 dollars. Ordered the purple team spec and got he 2040kv motor by accident. Holmes asked if i would want the motor for 20 dollars for the mistake an send the right motor out right away. Great guy an amazing product. That 2040kv v3 is amazing. So is the team spec I got then also. Lol I was thinking about the new holmes esc he has for the team spec. But I thought about also given this esc a try because I like the case an Bluetooth phone amp adjustments. Maybe I should get both. Lol
I like that about my mamba X, but the drag brake doesn't seem as good as this so I'll probably switch and use the mamba X on something that needs all that power
But why is this needed?? With proper gearing and a fusion pro the drag break is nearly impossible to slip. Even if this is stronger, it doesn't actually make s practical difference. So what's the point, am I missing something?
Why does nobody use a VESC controller in a crawler? It has many useful features like handbrake and can even use FOC with encoders for super smooth and strong start up.

How is this different than normal drag brake?
Great timing. Exactly the combo I was looking to set up. Thanks.
Thanks Joe, nice indepth explanation.

Thanks Joe, that was super useful info 👍
Did you get the V1.1 update already on the Python X? When I turn my drag brake up, I get a over-heat warning like the warning about turning the BEC up
Awesome ❤
Awesome esc!
It would be nice if you could have that on a spare channel

I'd like to see the transition

Combine the esc and motor together is the weight difference between that setup and a fusion pro lighter?
Does the esc get hot ? Lots of people complained about the esc temperature.
Fun.
Is FURITEK 2000KV 80A worth buying?
I wonder how well this hold feature would work on an inrunner motor.

because they are huge, and a pain to setup.
isn't that just drag brake?
You want to sell that truck
Chops front of chassis. Still runs the shocks ran down for position 😂 the tism is real involved 😂
