I mean, the other stuff will get upgraded at some point. Lmao. We use this rig as a demo in the Furitek Booth at the events so we can show the motor and esc on a stock truck. It really helps showcase the product.
This channel has been a blessing and a curse. My highly anticipated deadbolt should arrive tomorrow and this perfect build video has made me surpass the original cost of the stock unit. Thanks bud. I now have brand new stock parts for sale if anyone is interested 😝
Did you move the Spektrum esc toward the rear a bit? My body will not fit on like it’s supposed to because lizard pro is too tall so body moves forward 1/4 inch
thank you so much for the clear installation video and it was what drove me to get the upgrade for my ax24!! also out of curiosity, my ax24 is running overdrive gears up front, and just wanted to know if it's suitable for the brushless configuration?? my assumption is that it should be fine? again big love to your videos as always!! :)
So reviews keep saying the motor rubs on the drive line. I'm on the fence...stick to the purple injora motor and get the furitek esc or get the stinger combo and let it rub.
If you are completely slamming it to the ground, the motor might rub on the drive shaft some, but a “normal”, “well designed” suspension will be totally fine. Even if it does rub a tad under full compression, it isn’t a big deal. It’s the people who are removing springs and completely slamming it that are having issues (and imo, those are not good suspension setups)
@@TheShopMiniRC Good to know. Mine is lower but not by much. Like you say if it is not going to hurt anything I'd rather go brushless in the long run. Happy holidays. Cheers.
@@watsonira7 it will fit any “stock spec” transmission. So, the furitek stellar should work fine. There are many metal transmissions out there that are basically a copy of the stock (but metal). I think their biggest worry is just clearance.
Question on ESC hook up to receiver, on my new box stock receiver the rear servo is plugged into the THR slot, BR is occupied and CH3 is empty, do you have a tip what to do?
I can I've always heard everybody say never plugged directly in and out of the ESC because you can break those you know ears off the female plug have you had that happen
Hi mate what's the name of the battery extension lead ? I just received my cayman pro but my battery's won't fit into the esc box 😢 already fried a battery trying to connect it 🙃
The plug is a 2-pin jst ph plug. Furitek usa has a few different options for extensions / adapters. www.furitekusa.com/pages/search-results-page?page=4
I know for sure one of them's only 2000kv and the other is 3450 KB the micro Komodo is the 3450 also it has a smaller can a little bit longer but smaller not at all profile
Micro is a smaller form factor and good with a bit more wheel speed. The mini has a larger stator and has more lower end torque and smoother foc transition.
I must be a moron, but the way mine came, the rear servo is plugged into THR. So, where do I plug the Lizard into? I’m so confused with no instruction on the plugs…
@@TheShopMiniRC Well, to be honest, I finally got it to work but ran into further issues after dickin’ with the calibration in the Furitek app. So, I’m running the lizard pro with a micro-Komodo. It bypasses the stock Spektrum receiver (SPMXSE2425RX) that comes with the AX24. I just had the plug backwards from the Lizard to the Spektrum THR. So, my initial issue was solved simply due to it being plugged in wrong. Now, the receiver isn’t responding to the motor at all. I replaced the old motor, same thing. So I’m just gonna take it to my local shop and have them look at it. Might need a new receiver 🤷🏼♂️ I have no idea how it would’ve burnt it out in the first place, which is kind of annoying… But I guess that’s what happens when you have no idea what you’re doing 🤦🏼♂️
@@TheShopMiniRC No! Definitely didn’t do that. Is that the only thing that would burn the board out in the Spektrum? Cause I kept thinking maybe during the calibration something overloaded… But then again, I don’t really know. That little song the mini-Komodo sings when you turn on the Lizard stopped singing… Has me worried
This kit is absolutely unacceptable. A cruel joke. You spend $140 to extend your skid plate even lower and remove clearence and have your motor 100% obstructed by the front driveshaft so you need massive modification or your new motor or driveshaft will destroy one another. I know you see this issue but you just don't care to call out furitek for their absolute bullshit products.
What? It doesnt lower your clearance at all.. thats not how lowering the skid works.. it would be exactly the same seeing how that where the links connect. If anything it would raise your COG a tad... but its REQUIRED by ANY outrunner brushless motor... not just the furitek. Find another combo that drops in without any modification and then please let us know so we can show it on the channel. The exact rig in the video was used for thousands of demos at many large events and the driveshaft has a small mark where the motor and shaft rub at full compression.. far from "destroying one another". Pretty sure I mention the rub in the video good sir. ;-) Again, please let us know another combo that works better or easier than this one for the AX24 with little to no modification.
@@TheShopMiniRC... Are you joking? Doesn't lower the ground clearances? Do you even understand how a skid plate works? The furitek skid is protruding below the frame about 4mm more than the stock skid... That is a direct loss of ground clearance. Where the links are attached has absolutely nothing to do with it. I agree with anon, this kit is a laughably bad "plug and play" upgrade as furitek markets it as. They should absolutely disclose that it requires heavy modifications, because it absolutely does. Maybe you got lucky because mine contacted the drive shaft so bad it would stop the rig in its tracks and cause it to just stutter in place... I had to return it... But I really hope you're joking about the ground clearence issue. you are dead wrong...
Great combo I have the spectrum brushless but I will be switching it to the Furitek thanks for your video 🤘✌️
Good choice!
Fun seeing that motor upgrade still having stock noodle links, servos, and shocks 😅👍

Thanks for the tip!

It should be front servo in channel 1, esc in channel 2 (thr) and rear servo in Channel 3.

Yeah, the furitek plugs are definitely right and using an extension helps.
Installed the Furitek in my AX24. The driveshaft hits the motor when the front suspension compresses. Is there a fix?
Less suspension travel or try to shim the trans higher (but then the motor will likely hit on the chassis.)

Just barely and only when it’s completely compressed straight down. It’s really a non issue.
