Thanks for the review. I have the furitek motor, esc and bluetooth module now. I had to come back and watch again because the my motor is noisy. Watching the video, I hear the motor in yours is the same.
Thanks to this video and your reviews Matt, I ordered the Tegu and Komodo motor combo 6/22/21. I got confirmation that it's shipped today 7/7/21 and claim it'll be here Friday 7/9/21. Amazing if this is true as it's coming from Vietnam. So syked can't wait to install and try it all. Thanks Matt keep up the great work. Subbed BTW.
I think it's great they are offering it in a kit. I also think they are charging way to much for shipping. $20 shipping for a couple small gears and a plastic mount is wrong. Keep up the great work, love the videos.
$20 is a lot but they do ship really fast and it comes from Vietnam (unless ordered from amainhobbies) I’ve usually had everything arrive in around 3 days. That’s much better than buying the motor mount from shapeways and paying their horrible shipping prices just to wait a wk or more for the item to show up. Then you have to find the pinion and spur and pay shipping separate for each of those. So at least with this option it’s 1 shipping fee vs 2-3 I guess.
Yes. You just have to run the new esc through the old one since it’s an esc and receiver all in one. So you’ll plug the new esc into channel 2 of your stock esc and that’ll keep your stock controller working!
Thanks for help I’ve been looking into treal wheel hex spacer but the 22 bucks so i don’t know what gona do but definitely gona get a new body I like the cliffhanger body don’t like the hard body it’s to heavy
Thanks for making this video. My son just got the c10 and while showing it off to grandma, managed to fry the motor circuit...not sure how, but I had a very concerned 6 year old FaceTime me at work to say that there was a pop and a smoking coming from his truck. This kit looks great, will probably get it. Now I’m torn between the two esc’s on their website and wondering if his stock controller will work with either one?
Yes it should work with either. It’s really a toss up between the tegu and lizard. The tegu has a higher bec rating which helps if you upgrade the servo later and also can run 3s batteries for more power but the lizard is smaller and works well also.
Yeah I’m going to mention it to them and suggest they try to do something about it. I’ve messed with the throttle curve a decent bit and not had much luck smoothing it out so it may be something that needs addressed through an update to the esc. It’s still insanely smooth slow crawl and much better than any other system but it would be nice to have a smooth throttle with a nice gradual increase throughout the entire range.
@@2fmrc For the jump coming out of slow speed, try adjusting your Punch down. The Punch seems to kick in at whatever percentage you've set your Low Speed to. So if Low Speed is set to 30%, then at 31+%, the punch kicks in. Also, I have found the Neutral Forward to be the trigger input sensitivity. Wide seems to give your finger some slop. Narrow is instant input. I hope that helps. --You just saved me shipping again at Furitek with your code!! Thanks so much... just got 2 motors, 2 plates/gear sets and a Tegu in a case to try. I'm still waiting on my pinion gear to arrive, but I'm wondering if using a higher end radio system would help out. I installed a sanwa rx and will play with those throttle settings when it's finished.
@@2fmrcThere seems to be a switch between commutation types somewhere (sin, trap, FOC), which is clearly in the ESC, because it happens for example with my Flysky Noble exactly at the same trim step (50) all the time, no matter which type of motor I use. I honestly rarely ever use the 3s. 2s just seems so much smoother. I am going to try to install the new update and test it soon. Just haven’t had time this wknd with the holiday and stuff. 3s works well but not quite as smooth as 2s imo. That could change with the update though idk
@@2fmrc That actually gives me a sigh of relief, because the 2s fits so perfectly in the front part of the Rum Runner shell. With 3s I would have to redo my electronics some how. But...I am still curious what you will end up settling on with the new update.
I just got a caseless tegu and when I plugged it in, not only did the deadbolt body not sit right anymore (even at the highest mount position), but the connection from the Tegu to the stock ESC wasnt solid so it would just stop running whenever it wasnt 100% aligned properly. Pretty bummed.
Sounds like the connection is being bumped or something by the body maybe? Idk? Never had any issues with connection like that. Maybe try installing the esc in a different way and see if it helps. I just throw mine wherever and it’s never had any issues. If nothing worked I would contact Furitek and see what they say. Could be an issue with the esc or something.
@@2fmrc After I finished your vid the second time, I went in and tried screwing with it again.
