Just listened to is a couple of times last night. It’s probably the most impressed I’ve been with a new album of this ilk since River’s Owls Know My Name album. Not 100% convinced this is Pink Floyd of death metal, there’s probably one maybe two Floydian moments but that does not detract from how good this is. No album in years has made me listen all the way through on first listen. Glad that this is getting attention, I believe this band are somewhat known already, they’re new to me however I have heard of them just not listened to them yet. Great video, new subscription here!!
This album is fucking amazing. I bought a friend of mine Hidden History of the Human Race in an attempt to bring him into death metal. And some Opeth. Dying Fetus is now his favourite band.
This album does sound very interesting to discover. I have heard of the band before but it is awesome to hear bands diving into a big progression of exploration and bring variety. Definitely will get into the album.
Absolutely love this album. My first real music experience was watching The Wall animated movie in the cinema and it blew me away. So I started to dig in my fathers album collection and fell in love with Pink Floyd as a 10 year old. A few years later I learned about metal and fast forward to now, when they said that it would be “a 70’s prog album played by a 90’s death metal band” I was officialy hyped! And THIS is exactly what I hoped it would be 🤘
Absolute Elsewhere is one of my AOTY... 1. krallice - Inorganic Rites 2. Pyrrhon - Exhaust 3. Ingurgitating Oblivion - Ontology of Nought 4. Sleepytime Gorilla Museum - Of The Last Human Being 5. Scarcity - The Promise of Rain Blood Incantation - Absolute Elsewhere Alcest - Les Chants de l’Aurore Borknagar - Fall Ihsahn - Ihsahn Ulcerate - Cutting the Throat of God Malignancy - ...discontinued Nile - The Underworld Awaits Us All Ripped To Shreds - Sanshi Etc... Loose Order... Subject to change by the end of the year ... Especially after Defeated Sanity’s “Chronicles of Lunacy & Opeth’s “The Last Will & Testament” are released... There’s a few albums from other genres that could end up on this list but they will have their own category...
Thanks for the review! I'm new here and love your take on records, any advice for someone who wants to start reviewing music? I'm super excited for your immolation review I just got into them and they have so much great music!
Thanks for checking out the video and happy you enjoyed it. In regards to advice I would say just start doing it. You will learn far more that way as you already have the momentum and can make adjustments accordingly.
When is the Immolation albums rankings again 😂 This band are on a different level to everyone else honestly i do like the Pink Floyd of Death Metal like Enslaved are the Rush of Black Metal. Love these walking reviews looks like such a beautiful place. Looking forward to your Immolation ranking 🤘
@@ThatMetalBlokeThat's definitely a banger, I have thoroughly enjoyed it. A very versatile and skillful band. As a diehard fan of BTBAM I appreciate it very much. The comparison with Pink Floyd is also warranted because some sections are so Shine-On-You-Crazy-Diamond like. Next stop for me is exploring their entire discography))
What an amazing album. My mind has been blown.
Contender for album of the year
@@ThatMetalBloke yeah with Oceans Of Slumber
I’m really impressed by the new album. It’s their best yet and a highlight of the year.

Love this album best so far imo as well as Floyd I’m getting big Ozric Tentacles vibes
Good shout 🤘
my exact thought after listening this album " pink floyd of death metal "
Definitely. Incredible album 🤘
I've only listened to The Stargate so far, cannot wait to listen to the rest of the album tomorrow
I can assure you it is just as good as the first half 🤘
@@ThatMetalBloke Oh yes, you were correct. This is legit bordering a 10/10 for me and will rank very, very highly in my end of year list
High praise indeed! Perhaps if Columbo was more synth proficient, he could have featured on this album. Sounds like they did ok without him though 👍
🤣 Highly reccomend this one mate. Cracking album!

Had no idea they were back but I like them, will check your review later on for sure
Cheers Jack 🤘
Totally agree that they’re the Pink Floyd of death metal.
For sure. I was blown away at how they were able to meld so many styles of music together so fluidly 🤘
Pink Floyd of death metal? Say no more, I am already downloading it 😂 Great review as always, cheers from Mother Russia, comrade
Let me know what you think of it. I was completley blown away
