Berries, I just finished making the last few batches of jam for the season. combos, strawberry/rhubarb and red raspberry/strawberry 24 8oz jars. Total 72 jelly, jams, apple butter. Several more pint jars of apple pie filling canned. I grew all the fruit and berries on the homestead along with my mini-vineyard that have several verities of grapes. All my fishing gear has been collecting dust for the past 10 years. I have moved away from the NE coast but that will change soon enough. Tackle boxes full of fresh and salt water gear and rods. Surf casting or jigging from a boat is a good time. Just like a box of chocolates , ya never know what ya going to get . Fenn needs his own saddle bags so he can bring his own food. If ya want a plastic net/bag I'll send ya one.
Theres currently a German TV show goin on called 7vswild in which 7 contestant teams of two are on vancouver island for 14 days. I wasn't expecting to watch the entire video but it was so good I couldn't stop watching.. I'm actually sad its over! You guys make an awesome team just good vibes, sharing knowledge and the scenic shots were also awesome. I LOVE FIN 🥰 .. You've got yourself a new subscriber and I'm definitely gonna head over to Amos' channel and watch his point of view of the survival trip and give him a follow as well! Looking forward to more adventures from you two! Cheers and God bless ❤

it's nice to see you are humble enough to bring someone on that can show you up. Amos is the right guy to have on a survival challenge. Good show Greg.
Greg, I have an Idea for something you can keep in your pack to use to make a fish net. The large hams or turkeys' have a plastic light weight mesh net which has a loop to hoist the meat around. It has a aluminum crimp at the loop, use pliers and remove it and you have the mesh netting to make a bush craft fishing net. Some are black or white maybe other colors I have saved several of them. You can use them to hold other camping items, maybe use to hang food off the ground away from critters or hungry dogs that like butter...🐕🦺🦝🦊🐻🦨 maybe make a fish trap or critter trap. Many uses for the net mesh. It will be cool to see what you come up with something worthy of the Rocky Mountain Bushcraft efforts.
This was awesome, you guys gave me a much needed break from reality. My brother recently took his life after a battle with mental health. This is the first thing ive watched. This is the kind of stuff we'd do together. Thanks guys. RIP Bro, miss you more every day.

At first, I was expecting a real survival adventure. But it pand out to be not that in the real sense. Then, I could still not stop watching. There is something to be said about just being out there, enjoying nature and being grateful for the blessings it does provide when you put the work in. I guess the 30 day challenge and longer video is enjoyed by not only myself, but by a lot of other fans, no matter the format of how the "survival" theme is chosen to be presented. Keep it up guys, great job.
Thank you so much for this amazing video. To both of you. Only sad part was that you put Finn in the fire squad and the poor dog had to watch how his best sticks get burned. If ya want a plastic net/bag I'll send ya one.
iTS SO NICE TO SEE TWO GUYS HAPPY IN EACH OTHERS COMPANY WITHOUT TRYING TO ONE UP EACH OTHER
Theres currently a German TV show goin on called 7vswild in which 7 contestant teams of two are on vancouver island for 14 days. Even though the rules do not allow them to take as much gear as you did, it is amazing to see how much better they couldve done if they knew their surrounding better. Thanks for the amazing content and greeting from germany!
7vsW is a joke
@@meinungsfreiheit7004 true it was way better when it wasnt about maxing out the views and when they invited people with actual survival skills
@@VantaBlack-nv1zk yea and when it was more about the actual survival and not some UA-camrs talking about their emotions non stop.
Feels like they put some random "known" people in the wild and let them cry all day exept from 1-2 people. Also they vut out a lot of interesting things like building shelter, finding water and food, making fire. Its like the uninteresting part besides there emotions.
German Television and media is absolutely embarassing. Everybody is an American celebrity wannabe poser.
Canadian, living in Germany.
Warum speakt ihr nicht German wenn you guys are Deutsch ? 🤓😂
I have to say it sir. You are something of an inspiration. My father is about your age. You are still doing these actual difficult challenges, no one even dares to. I am rooting for your well being. And hope people like you are always there to make us understand simplicity and humbleness is a virtue. I've bever been so happy to see someone get a fish.
Please do another one you two guys, I have never sat through a 3 hour long youtube video ever until now! Epic.
When Greg got the fish and Amos got the grouse and they was so happy. That made me happy.
Me too man, me too
To those that are unaware, yes this is pre-uploaded footage. This is a condensced compilation of the Survival Challenge Amos and Greg did a while ago. (When it came out, it was like a tv show, episodes per week)
What do you mean?
@NoName-yi3oz he means they originally posted all of these clips as serperate episodes, but compiled them into a 3hr special containing all the episodes.
I know I won't get a response to this. But thank you guys for teaching me and my daughter everything on how to fish camp and do everything bush. We have been watching you guys since my daughter was two years old. She will be five in december fourteenth. Thank you for everything, Mr. Greg
i for one am inspired by your story and hope to do the same for myself and children one day 🙏
Way to go, Dad. Start them young. When I was hitting 40 I wrote my Dad a letter thanking him for teaching me how to fish. It's been a lifelong joy for me!

* *1:14:46** Greg’s Mouse Trap:* Greg constructs a simple but effective trap for camp mice, further showcasing his practical ingenuity.
* *1:35:38** - Concern About High Tide:* After finding their smoked fish supply entirely eaten, they worry that rising tides could reach their campsite.
* *1:51:56** - Kayaking for Salmon:* They launch their kayaks to access a new river and the ocean, hoping for a chance to catch salmon.
* *1:57:37** - Kayaking Concerns:* Greg experiences the instability of the small kayak, further emphasizing the risks and challenges they face.
* *2:02:09** - Missed Opportunities:* After several unsuccessful casts, Amós hooks a big salmon only for it to break off his line, causing frustration and disappointment. He later catches another, only for it to slip away right before landing.
* *2:13:46** - Hooked!:* Greg hooks himself badly in the finger while fishing. The pain and potential nerve damage mean they need to leave their remote location to seek medical attention.
* *2:16:21** Unexpected Filming:* The nurse at the clinic recognizes them from TV and is eager to film the hook removal process, bringing a touch of humor to a stressful situation.
*The Triumphant Bow and a Generous Gift:*
* *2:18:46** Back to Bushcraft:* They return from the medical visit undeterred, with Greg determined to show he can make a fire using a bow drill.
* *2:26:43** Amos's Bow Completed:* After days of dedicated work, Amós completes his stunning hand-crafted bow. Greg is impressed by its craftsmanship and power.
* *2:38:53** The Grouse & Coho:* In an epic moment of simultaneous success, Amós shoots a grouse with his bow just as Greg catches a coho salmon - surf and turf!
* *2:41:23** Amos's Generosity:* Amos offers Greg his bow as a gift for inviting him on the trip, reflecting their newfound bond and respect for each other’s skills.
*Last Days & Bow Drill Challenge:*
* *2:58:06** Set Line Success!:* After many failed attempts, their set line finally catches a fish, proving the worth of this technique.
* *2:59:01** Bow Drill Perseverance:* Despite exhaustion, Greg commits to starting a bow drill fire. After ten attempts, he achieves a glowing coal!
* *3:01:37** Amos Achieves a Coal (Hand Drill):* Inspired by Greg, Amós starts a fire using a hand drill. Greg, impressed by his friend's skill and stamina, gives him the hand drill kit as a gesture of respect.
* *3:03:48** Leaving the Island:* They bid farewell to the island, reflecting on their experiences. Greg acknowledges how much they relied on each other's skills for survival.
This challenge emphasized teamwork, adaptability, and overcoming physical and mental exhaustion. Despite challenges with weather, wildlife, and fishing, Greg and Amos formed a lasting friendship and created lasting memories.

The youtube algorithm brought me here 😁... I really enjoy camping and fishing and I usually watch to escape reality. I haven't been feeling well and under the weather and grieving the loss of my boyfriend who passed away last May..
What a wonderful friendship! Love watching you two making memories and having adventures together!!
Watched all 3 hours of this with my wife, she used to live in Coal Harbour so we recognized the Holberg road!
By far the best bushcraft channel on UA-cam. Thank you for giving us knowledge and entertainment on the side. God bless you 🙏🌄☀️🪵🌳🌲
I love seeing you alone alumnis collabing and doing survival challenges together. wholesome indeed! Love amon too in his alone season. Hipe you guys both are doing great!
it's nice to see you are humble enough to bring someone on that can show you up. Amos is the right guy to have on a survival challenge. Good show Greg.
It's so neat that you guys get together after alone and do these shows!!! Love them!!
👏👍
Great idea.
Been following you for years and I must say, by far, Amos is the best guy you've adventured with!
Thank you for your passion and to make other people know how to be human again
Gregg Ovens......Mastermind of Bush living and Survival Techniques
This was awesome, you guys gave me a much needed break from reality. My brother recently took his life after a battle with mental health. This is the first thing ive watched. This is the kind of stuff we'd do together. Thanks guys.
RIP Bro, miss you more every day.
I'm sorry for your loss and I know that sounds hollow but I lost my brother 30 years ago, and while the pain never goes away it does get better. And this was a great video, for sure.
@@robertpeyton9535 Thanks bro, not hollow at all. Just wish I could have done more to change his mind. Ill live with that burden forever now. I will do my best to focus on the good times, make sure his children are OK, and be here for my wife and kids as well. We lost our mom young, and he became my rock, never in a million years would I have thought this. Thanks again man.
Props to you guys for hiking those trails carrying that gear, I used to do the same in Nordegg Alberta and let me tell you I slept well.
Nordegg is Awesome Area
Greg and Amos make such a great team can't wait for the next one!
THANK YOU, BOTH, FOR YOU, #1, AND ALL, YOUR TIPS FOR FISHING, HUNTING, GATHERINGS, PLEASE, CONTINUE, TO SHARE, YOUR, KNOWLEDGE, LOVE YOUR WAYS, THANK YOU BOTH, FOR BEING, YOU.
Amos was my favorite his season. You said it, Greg, he just has the most delightful attitude. Wonderful guy.
yes so glad to hear that you will be doing more together with Amos
Watched the hole thing absolutely brilliant one of the most peaceful videos I’ve encountered in years
Amos needs to teach Greg how to cast! 🎣
Greg, we know you have as much fishing knowledge as Amos-try matching his energy-your very close naturally, but your a bit more weighed down-and that is all history-be here now when you fish-be light and present just because it feels better. Love the dovetails and the moss headdress.
Amos-what a delight to watch! You’re inner woodsman child comes out and tells us this is the way to live. You’re awesome!
I hope you both become UA-cam Rich and I hope it lets you spend more time in the woods-not less-blessings to you both!
What a blessing of bonding with nature , great humans , and man's best friend 🙏
Amos is the man for sure!
I loved this, never seen you before, but it was enjoyable to see 2 people leaving their ego's at home and just chillin with Finley the dog, this was fun, thankyou 🤘🇦🇺
super thanks again Greg and Amos!
I want you to know that your videos are my calm place. I cant explain how peaceful it is to lay in bed and watch your videos. Please keep it going!
Amos seems like such a cheerful, positive guy. The company of someone with a really good attitude makes hungry and cold days easier to take. It’s nice to see the two of you working together like this.
It must have taken a ton of time and effort for you to put this together. I don’t recall seeing any ads. Are you not monetising this? I’d be happy to sit through a few ads for you. This kind of content is worthy of support.
Amos is the man. what a camping buddy .
3 of my favorite guys on UA-cam: Greg, Finley, and Amos 😊
His fish was a bigger fight on land lol love watching you guys but Fin is always the ✨⭐✨
I got so stressed out at work so barely was coping... This video gave me so much relief... Thank you!!
2:38:20 - I am literallty crying of joy.
Good job guys! Amazing movie.
Just realized there’s not a single ad in this entire video. Clearly a man who loves what he does fantastic watch!
This is the type of content i love, hours of a person just "roughing"(to each their own) it in nature for days/weekends on end like people back in the day did it, so simple/peaceful and with the right setup calming
Same
I'm 2hrs in and I can't help but admire Greg's patience, 20 days and only one fish but still the attitude is ever hopeful 👍🍻🍻🍻🍻
With fishing in big waves it’s all about finding a rip and letting your bait be dragged out into deep water
Yeah, those Chicken of the Woods, the margins are the good bit. 1-2" around the outside, leave the rest.
Great movie so far. Never get tired of my backyard.
What a great pair of outdoorsman! They work great together and the fact that they always positive speaks volumes of who they are as people. I enjoyed every minute of this video! It’s incredible that we get to watch this for free. Those cod are so beautiful with those hues of blue and they taste great as well!
Awesome movie. Thanks for sharing, Greg ...Amos and you are kindred spirits and I'm subscribed to his channel. Both of you Are Absolutely Awesomely good folks! As well as Survivalists !!! Fin is a wonderful friend to have.
Funniest part is Greg was saying "watch me catch a big 200 lb halibut and it dragged me to Japan.." followed by Greg catching multiple baby halibut! Really great video fellas you both did great! Look forward to seeing another in the future hopefully!
I really, really enjoyed this 30 day survival challenge! One of my favorites. That's for sure! You two had great chemistry
That blue cod Amos caught was the highlight for me it the sign of a good adventure ahead
i appreciate seeing men going out to nature and embracing it.
without cellphone usage, just nature the way it was meant to be.
i used to go camping every weekend. now ive got so much going on, this is as close as i can get "right now"
i plan to take my wife and daughter camping - we'll see how that goes haha.
they'll get used to it, ill drag them 1000 times lol
Man, you should do a team up with Outdoor Boys!! I think that would be so fun!
His looks were heartbreaking. Anyway, this was nothing but amazing. All the best to you guys from Germany. Thanks and always have a save trip.
I enjoyed this, thank you. Just a quick note: you can actually cook food on the beaches below the tide line since there are no fire restrictions there. BC resident.
That’s more relaxing than challenging since you have everything equipments you needed
Enjoyed all 3 hours despite not expecting to stick to the end! Both you guys are such amazing characters.
Ikr
This was brilliant! So much fun to watch. Thanks for taking us all on your adventure with you.
I could not sleep well last night and came across this video. Thank goodness I decided to tune in. It was so relaxing and interesting to watch! Made my sleepless night so much better. You two are so wholesome and happy! Best bud vibes for sure! Thank you for such amazing, adventurous content! I typically don't leave comments but my intuition told me to so here it goes! New sub 😄
Oh and I must say, I slept like a baby after this! 😅
I respect you re independence, kindness, and resilience
Rewatch this series constantly. Truly something special!
What a wonderful adventure! Thank you guys so much. I'm in love with that sweet pup!❤
Yesss
Dam dude if I was doing a survival challenge I wouldn’t be so picky on what I was eating
Really enjoyed you and your team work and how you were able to make it fun to watch you two get along so well together.😂
Amos is a actual legend i couldn't imagine the things i could learn off that man and how truly positive he can be and so calm
The two of u must be loving life in real nature better than sitting in box looking out the window at other buildings blinded to what’s actually out there ❤from Scotland to the two of you 🏴🇨🇦🍁🇲🇽
Loving this adventure man!!😊
