Jonas is the boss
Mesto ❤️❤️
You're the boss :D
Mesto my boy🔥🔥
After this video Mestos songs will sound even more better.
Hey mesto u here🙌🙌
8:21 Funniest transition ever; caught me off guard. XD
Do you use Maximus in your Mastering? Hahahah
Soundsof Eleven I've heard that joke many, MANY times. XD
I got a dominos ad 😂
Holy snap he said it so naturally I didn't even hear it until I saw this comment. That's some insane subliminal messaging 😂
Very smooth with it lol
I'll pick out three comments that I'll give a free mastering to & also highlight the comment in the next video, ask me anything 🎉🎉
Ooh
Wohoo, free mastering!! Thank you for the chance
Thanks for always making my mondays better with your videos :)
Yaaaaaaas, that´s so amazing! 😎
I live in norway, oslo. I have a small familiy of three, that is included me. i havn't so much time but i need mastering for a song i think is great to maybe get me some money. jeg håper du ser dette og jeg har gjort klar mixen for lengst :)
i think it's also nice to mention some psychology tricks with EQ. I know it was a basic video but here's for some intermediate guys.
you'll find (especially in a lot of dubstep/melodic dubstep), boosting around 3.5-8kHz a dB or 2, can help make your track seem 'louder'. why? around that area is a naturally 'annoying' (i prefer the term sensitive) range of frequencies to the human ear, apparently baby screams and cries are around that area. be careful though!! this is easily overdone because of how sensitive that frequency range is, and can make your track just sound piercing. but it can really help brighten up the track and give a super 'loud' master
I was mixing, listening on my monitors and I went to my earbuds and it sounded way different! Make sure to check on different systems as Jonas said!
Niice, its very important!
i love that you don´t cut out every little mistake - and breathing like other youtubers - i enjoy your channel
01:42
“Having bing”
My favorite Chinese producer
im in china ...where can i find 'Bing'
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ive only been producing for 4 months and after watching this its really going to help on an future house track I have in the works! Thanks for keeping it so straight forward and informative at the same time!
Your channel is a brilliant source of information for beginner and intermediate producers. Thanks, this helped a lot.
Jonas, you are amazing at explaining everything in such a simple way making it super easy to understand!
I'm working on getting my mixing down and I love all the small tricks you explain in your track creation videos. They make a small but important twist.
Looking forward to your next video!
This is pure gold man !!! I've been trying to learn mastering for a very long time and it always confused me a lot. Thank you for breaking it simple. ♥️
Love your studio 😭 it's an art itself.
it’s all ikea lmao
I just so love your studio design. I think we are two people of the same taste because it looks perfect to me.
Your channel is a hidden gem. Way better than the rest of these charlatan producers youtube is flooded with.
This is pretty much the BEST tut on Mastering, not only this but all your videos!
8:21 transition was crazy! 😏
You’re tutorials and walkthroughs are so freaking good and on point, wish you could stick to this kind of videos forever!! It will be truly amazing if i would get a master from you
Thankyou
I have introduced your channel to all my friends who us fl, it has changed my ability drastically, than you so much
8:20 hahaha
Very important & underlooked aspect of mastering!
The most important step to do, lmao
Omg yess I wish that every producer was like you, you make music and make people enjoy it and you care about other producers and teach them so you have a connection with the audience and that's why I love your songs and learn more in every video
Wow I appreciate that so much
The invisible limiter fucking slaps! I'm loving how it sounds, and thank you Jonas for helping me discover it's power! I'm off to make beautiful music!!!
This is so amazing. The one and only video that correctly taught me what mastering is 😊. Thank you Jonas
Your vids very informative Im gonna dig this channel. You have a good balance of attention to detail and going straight to the point. Well done man!
Simple and transparent guide with very good info! I find "Unity gain monitoring" in the Invisible Limiter to be a very handy tool to objectively hear how much gain is too much. As an added bonus, once you dial the gain setting in, then turn the unity off, it will be a lot louder! 😀
So proud that I figured out the hint to try out everything on different devices on my own
Great video, Jonas! Everybody is talking about checking a mix on other speakers, in the car and so on. And recently I discovered that altough my mix sounds very clean on my gear it can sound too much in your face on airpods for example. So my point is that fat basslines and punchy drums are good and pretty, sometimes you can push it a little too much because earbuds tends to have narrow soundstage
Im not the biggest EDM fan out there, but im drooling over your studio design. You´re a lucky man:)
What's your best mixing tip?
How to know if sound needs compression?
How to know if your samples are pro-sounding?
Do you have days with lack of motivation (how often)?
Love your vids, keep up the great work!
Cant wait for Blackbird btw
I fell in love with your studio
Q & A:
1. Did you suffer from mental illness like Depression and if so, how do you overcome it? I noticed that this is an up and coming problem in the Music Business.
2. Whats your dream collaboration? (Not EDM!)
Thank you for everything Jonas, learned a lot today.
Interesting question man!!
@@AdenFoyer appreciate it! could really use a Jonas Aden Master right now haha
So many gems. Could stop the video after watching 3 minutes and still leave with more info than so many other tuts. GJ
My question: which is the most important error you've done in the past that makes you think "i was doing bad mixes because of that"?
one thing i remember was mixing the kick too loudly thinking it was good because it “hit hard.” balance your kicks because loudness doesn’t equal a quality mix.
@@kingbingbong1920 thankss
Yes, and compress the kick to balance it so it still hits harder but with less volume peaks but don't over compress ofc
@@ClebinMusic what plugins do I compressed it with?
Disable the limiter from the Master! And make sure your mix is peaking at -6
Alll you're videos are so useful!! I learned so Much from you!!
Love these vlogs!
For next weeks Q&A: Have you ever collabed with someone you regret or don't want to ever again? Love your music and vids keep up!
Damn thats a harsh question hahaha! Thanks
I love this. Also, your studio looks so cozy. Goals.
ive always been waiting for a video of a master mastering how to master a masterpiece
Hahah thats solid
glad u liked it lol
thank you your explanation was simple and perfect
3:19 is actually genius! i mix way to loud and that would solve the problem
Q&A Question: When mixing your tracks, is there any specific tool you use in all your tracks which really helps make the mix solid and clean it up? For example, I know a few artists who use OTT a lot throughout to help clean up their mix
This is awesome and learnt many things related to mastering
Thank you brother
You made it look so easy. Legend. 😭😭😍😍
I know this is an older video so hopefully my question is seen by someone with experience who can answer it. I'm learning mixing and mastering. Before going into the mastering stage do I export the mix to an mp3 (AAC, wave..) file and open into new project to begin mastering? It may sound like a silly question but I am new so details is key for me. I understand the process of mixing (meaning all about the balancing the different instruments, vocals, effects etc such as panning). Mastering is all about getting that full sound/widening, loudness, overall stereo sound for streaming/radio.Thanks in advance for answering my question.
I don't know much English, but I watch your videos, because everything is simple and to the point. and even I understand)
You and Brooks are my biggest source of tips, tricks and inspiration for my music.
Thank you!
btw. It would be awsome if you do video with Brooks.
wow, I'm so happy I found this channel 😄
Starting with a brickwall limiter sounds to take away the peaks. super stocked to use it in my next track, thank you so much !! :*
Much love man
Thanks for you work Jonas, I´m glad people like you are out there! QnA: Do you think that song can be made just through app like FL Studio without any hardware?
Love that trap remix of strangers do! You should drop that :)
The next great artist, ma boii Jonas
I love you !!! I learnt so much watching all of this videos
Now this this a good mastering tutorial, i've learnt so much
Can you make a video on how to manage projects in which you have to bounce layers to wave file. Especially the workflow is a mystery for me
Hell yeah, thanks for the content! Keep it up
8:20. Well played, Jonas, well played.
I really appreciate your effort of making this tutorial. You helped me a lot and now my beats sound more professional. Thank you! =))
Great video, Jonas. You invited questions from the start. My question is how do you know which elements of a track should be 'compressed', which elements should be 'widened', 'maximised' etc? I can see these mastering effects in my DAW, but I am inteterested to learn from you which elements of a track need which 'effects'?
hey man, great video as always!
my question for you is : will you do a video explaining a bit how sound design works and how to do it, or at least give us an idea how you do it in your tracks?
Thank you again for doing these videos!
For sure man! Thanks
@@AdenFoyer Happy you're taking your time to help us ^^
Wow what a gorgeous studio
Yeah... Nice way to toss in the subscribe request. You got me, definitely subscribed. Awesome lesson. I actually learned something.
3:20 Damnn that's a very good trick!
8:20 hahaha
Yaayyy an FAQ
Thanks for the questions!
@@AdenFoyer You should really try it! The new Q3 is a gamechanger :) I would love to see mixing and mastering tutorials in the future because my tracks sound horrible and I often have no idea what to do.
i just use fruity balance to go to -6 db important is clipping before the mixer
@@tylerdurden6992 Good tip. Thanks! :)
First and foremost, thank you for a thorough mastering walk-trough.
Q:
- Would you recommend mastering with a multiband compressor, e.g. the compressor on Ozone iZotope 5?
- Why didn't you normalize the track prior to the mastering?
Cheers from Kristiansand!
Oh, and I have a country/folk/house-ish track I'd really want you to master🙌🙌🙌
Why would I normalize the track? :o
i listen to i dont speak french adieu almost every couple of hours. the sound design is crazy and I've used your sample packs to make a few bangers too! would love to discuss anything around production with you!!
I've subscribed to this channel a few days ago, for now it's a "little" channel but it looks so good, and the videos have a really good appearance, I'm sure that this will grow quickly😝
Thank you man
we are waiting for u back, legend!
Thanks so much for this bro it really helped
QnA question: Do you make your own kicks, claps, percussions ect? or do you mostly use samplepacks?
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us!
QnA question: What would you say is the best part about being a producer?
Dope material as always! Q&A: How do you pan your drums?
QnA: What do you think about the psp vintage warmer 2, that so many use?
By the way, thank you for the video about mastering it helped me a lot and keep it up 👍🏻
Just throw in a Sound goodizer.
Bcz that's what hero's do
@@f1goat803 legends*
@@MrTsuyoshi123 actually heros is correct?

@@CardnylMusic thats to much for me 💀
Thankyou so much for sharing Jonas 🙏🏻
Aden's mastering is next level
How you made melodys are best and energetic i like it.
Appreciate it !!
Well done on these videos, I see that you really put your time in, so that we get quality content. 🔥🔥🔥
Appreciated man
This helped so much
Ay just got on my train and pulled up UA-cam hoping there would be some new content, and there you were!
Hahah hope it was worth your time to watch!
Best informative videos about music on yt!
3:14 Can someone explain me what to use when Jonas says : "When I start a new project [...] I have something that increases the volume, like 10dB on the master so that I automatically mix lower". I want to do the same thing, should I use a limiter or anything else ? (maybe a plug?)
I believe he uses the invisible limiter to increase the volume ~10db.
You're amazing
Q&A: with which artist do you wanna collab and who do you look up to?
I don’t know if you already talked in a video, about the merging tool in the mixing tab, in FL Studio, I don’t know if a lot of people know it. I use it almost every time, it makes the sound more homogeneous, depending if you want it in mono or stereo but I ALWAYS choose mono, it’s recommended 😁
Most helpful tutorial on UA-cam!
i download all you're sample packs😂Thanks for all the sounds and stuff in the packs,It really helped me,The mastering can help me too👻👊🏻
Means the world to me!!
I've been using online mastering services on all my tracks now and have found that the masters either come out too quite or loud and distorted. I've found this tutorial just so helpful as I really want to start mastering my own tracks but find mastering quite intimidating! But this video has really helped! As a producer who is just starting out mastering, what is a common fault beginners do (maybe from your own experience) which is easily avoidable?
Thats awesome to hear
Thank you! Will you also explain your mixing process in the future?
100%!
I subscribed to the channel and liked the video, and instantly all my tracks gained a high quality EQ
Awesome video as always!
If you could tell your younger producer self one or more things about music production / performing, what would it be?
The next step - Subscribe to this channel and like the video 😂😂
thanks so much for the walkthrough man, that really helped 🤘
Can you maybe explain at what levels you mix each element of your productions - so like the kick is the loudest and then the bass etc. :)
I did that step, hopefully I'll get better mix now lol
Appreciated!
Yea I subbed and liked cause of it. Worth it
Music is unique,
We have our own sounds that nobody can make,
Our own stories that nobody can tell,
Our own life that nobody can experience,
Our own language nobody can speak,
Our own decisions nobody can think,
Our own movement nobody can replicate,
this is what makes music unique.
since when you start producing and what/who the most inspired you to start producing?
Nice techniques here. I will give this a go. Interesting about using two limiters. Essentially one on the channel where the track is, and then the one on the master to push the input. I didn't see the master fader go up at the end to really hear the result, but I assume that's what you'd do obviously. The volume scooping out just before the drop is also a good idea. Around -3db would be good in the automation. I will try this for sure.
Amazing video as always Jonas! Every time I finish watching these videos, they make me run into my room and work on some music! Thanks for the inspiration.
Now one question: When you master a track, do you master a WAV. rendered version of it and do you put a limiter on the master track for the initial project before you master it?
Makes me so happy to hear!!
would love a run through of your studio setup! I'm such a gear nerd!
Will do!
I mastered my first song using this method and it came out well and sounds great on all systems, I still wanted to know what eq plugin can I use if I dont have the Sie-Q the tracks I mastered sounds great they just miss that top end shimmer
Dope vid, love your work!
Thanks for tutorials like this, they're really clear and helpful!
Will you be at dancefair this year by the way?
Probably not sadly! And thanks, happy to hear
😢
Thank you for this video because of this video tech me a lot of mastering technics. Love to see more video like this.
Love this
