This.. was really high quality content. I am legitimately impressed. Not only in the meat of what is being discussed but editing, graphics, VO etc. Really well done.
This video has absolutely excellent audio for the narration to be heard. Too many name brand demos and tutorials in this music/audio realm simply do not demonstrate this care.
Mix engineers need more praise than they get! I’ve been doing music for 13yrs and this video still makes my head hurt not because of complexity but because technology complicates simple formalities
The Judge & Juror it was more complex before izotope to be honest, most plugins mimic anologue hardware rather than presenting themselves in the simplest way overcomplicating things. Example Neutrons visual mixer vs nobs and faders of yesteryear.
You can literally take any song that exists and take the mix/master from it and apply it to your own unmixed/unmastered song ........ That's absolutely insane. Seriously mind blowing.
If you take the mixing and mastering skills in observe, you will learn to apreciate the song regardless of the genre. I mean , at least for me, it feels so good when a good mixed song enters your ears , like a blanket . And you can tell elements in it
I found a preset called "Trap Drums" And "Trap" in maschine on Ozone 9 and it beats any of my mastering chains almost everytime. We live in amazing times and what matters is the final sound and feel. If I can get that in seconds with Ozone then I am very happy and will continue to support. One thing that would be great as far as referencing, would be to have a smaller floatable button that you can press to hear the reference without going to master channel and opening ozone to press the reference button.
you know how some companies who manufacture plugins bring someone from the office to do these kind of videos??... im really glad they did the opposite and brought someone who can actually make content, knows how to talk, and has a some what soothing voice
I discovered the learning resources that Izotope provides for mixing and mastering before I discovered their plugins as I was mixing my own material. I wanted to be as objective as allowable by educating myself and they converted me into a supporter of their products in the process. Like other people here have said, you can hire a mastering engineer and in many cases you should, but I feel this is targeted for those who want to learn the skill of mastering which is a lifelong process. The video was quick which can give you the impression that these things are quick to learn. These skills take years to learn! After many, many different songs! The beauty of Izotope and their products is they put complex subjects into a digestable format. But you still have to analyze, assess and apply as deemed necessary/appropriate. It would also serve you well to have a basic understanding of the fundamentals of acoustics/sound.
I just love iZotope's music production suite! Will eventually save up and buy the reverb set too and upgrade my current current music production suite too!
Awesome advice and overview. iZotope plugins...the depth is incredible. From simple to full on geek mode, it's all there. TBC2 is always on my mix bus. Kudos again to Iz.
Huge fan of Izotope products. Huge! I don't want to imagine not having them. In fact, I've got almost all their major plugins. The one thing, that I feel, Ozone is missing, is what Plugin Alliance's Metric AB does..and that is sectional comparison. The one problem with automated AI mastering, is that it uses one static setting for the whole song. You have to automate for different sections. That is where I find Metric AB shines. It let's me check each section against different songs. I then use different instances of Ozone to cross fade between the sections. Usually, I only need two instances. One for the hook and one for the rest. Definitely don't do this on the same track you're mixing because you'll run out of CPU quickly. Do this on a mixdown bounce. I think these guys tend to forget to mention this because they do it so much, that they assume we're all doing that. I find that a lot of noobs master the same arrangement they're mixing. No no. At least bounce it down to stems if you still want to make mixing decisions, but ideally you want to mix it down to a single stereo track. This is all subjective. I just thought the comments of using those sample crushing compressors like Camel Crusher and Sausage Fattener were funny. I mean... work with what you have . No shame in that. Heck...if that was all I had...no one else would know, right?! Peace.
I saved up for about a year and a bit and I invested in some Izotope tools. This might sound over exaggerated, but if I have a choice between having my car stolen or losing my Izotope tools.... Take my car lol!! I think Izotope should develop a full D.A.W.... It will by far be the best.
Wait WAIT!!! did you just give really good advice about loudness levels etc.? I can't believe it! honestly I thought Izotope and all the big corporations would push the louder is better agenda....but you seem to be actually concerned about the quality of the recording - this is a pleasant surprise xx
@@milhouse777 Well, their loudness suggestions are way below the industry standard loudness. Even with the normalization a louder track will sound louder.
I thought the opening blue back video was an advert ... Sat here 40 seconds waiting to hit SKIP AD then realised it was the actual video 🙄LOL Happy early Monday morning 😂 I have this software installed, pretty neat 🙃
Came for mastering tips, left with life advice. ❤️
Were you able to achieve the results you wanted?
Watch well there are many good infos
I’m green to mastering but after this video I now know which plugin to use for mastering
Lol. So true
Just throw a Camelcrusher on the master bus and upload it to Soundcloud
nice one
Noob mastering 101 🔥😂
That's the name of the game right there!
Dont forget OTT as well
Nah bro i put Fruity Soft Clipper and thats it lol
Finally a video about mastering in which the audio is mixed perfectly correspondingly to the content.
😂

this has to be one of the best ads for their products too, well done
This is what separates Izotope from Waves. Waves is just all adverts and promos while Izotope gives you the real sauce!
This video has absolutely excellent audio for the narration to be heard. Too many name brand demos and tutorials in this music/audio realm simply do not demonstrate this care.
13:08 Did a mastering tutorial just inadvertently give the best life advice?
what??
@@moore864 he's implying that a life lesson was given inside this video about mastering.
9:04 as well. This video is deep :o
I never noticed those two points at those timestamps. Thanks Izotope lol. The audio world is not short of insecurity so that's pretty cool lol
Use your ears and don't doubt yourself. Love that!
I like these videos because they feel like genuine tutorials and not like they're just trying to sell you something.
Gotta say I was expecting kind of an advertisement. Instead I got amazing information. Thank you!
I've been mixing for years. Just in recent realization, mastering skills were missing in my life. Thank you Izotope

Oh man, I'm so gonna have to get this now!! Awesome job with putting this video together!!
Love from Japan. Thx iZotope!!!

@@nonami_066xswqoqowiwl Ok. Let me call Tim Cook and see if he's ready
immediately scrolled down after seeing this in the video. comments did not disappoint with this one at 3rd place.
Cook is on the phone to China, please hold.
He explains it so well that I don't mind the corny track they play at the end. Good job!
