I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the content creator of Tools on Tech for publishing this amazing tutorial on Logseq's simple queries. As a Logseq user myself, I have been struggling to master these queries for quite some time and this tutorial has been an absolute game-changer for me.
Thank you, Tools on Tech, for your dedication to Logseq and for sharing your expertise with us all. I truly appreciate the time and effort that went into creating this tutorial.
Such a nice comment, there will be many more as I love making them.
I really hope they will add a "where" operator, that would make simple queries way more powerful and advanced ones way less needed.
great video. Thank you so much for explainig querys
Thanks for putting the effort in making this video - much appreciated! I liked that you explained the syntax of functions directly at the beginning. At least I was so far not aware that "(task TODO)" means that "task" is a function, and that TODO would just be a value. So, with this knowledge about this core feature at was a breeze for me to follow the rest of your video. Nice!
excellent to hear, it was something that caught me in the beginning so glad to see it helps you make sense of things!
Logseq's best explanation on UA-cam

This is so good. ❤
Great video. I can’t wait to try some of these out
Great tutorial, thanks Bas! Was wondering where 'Scheduled' is in the query builder? Similar to your example for Between with journal dates would love to use the scheduled date to select tasks Any clue?
I don't think it can right now in simple query, I did discover while checking the code you can expand between with create-at and updated-at, so (between created-at -7d today).
That won't help you now, but if they add scheduled, I would expect it to get added there.
thanks for explaining these basics. If I query on one page property with a value and then a different page property with 2 values, I get an error. is this due to limitations in simple query? Error: Cannot parse binding, expected (bind-scalar | bind-tuple | bind-coll| bind-rel)
Shouldn't hit a limit, but simple queries do mess up once in a while. Feel free to mail me the query if you didn't already resolve it. Happy to take a look
Awesome sauce, Bas! Thanks! ❤
Glad you like it!
@@toolsontech I loved it. Your videos have helped me a lot! I was wondering if you found any limitations in querying multiple properties at once. My logseq crashes when I build a query combining three properties simultaneously...
Thank you so much for video! Can we make queries for linked references aslo?
Not sure what you mean with this, might need a bit more info. Got any details on what you are trying to get as a result?
im so used to dataview lol this is awesome tho
Yeah, dataview is totally different. The more advanced I get in Logseq the harder it is to jump between Logseq and Obsidian
I followed your hours example.
But my Journal entries pages do not show up in the query.
Other pages do, but not journals.
What change do I need to make?
This was just before Abunai! so I'm way behind. Would love to help but need a bit more details. Hit me up on dm or email and we'll debug it
