Your custom config for task handling really helps me a lot. Great video. I really appreciate your ability to condense and simplify something complicated into practical bite-sized pieces. I'm looking forward to the project management video!
Fantastic video, love the workflow. Super helpful, thanks for posting! Wanted to share that I was copying the queries for my own use and noticed that the "On this day" section seems to also include the "Next" section, which if you copy verbatim breaks your config.edn. Thanks for the great content!
Thank you so much for letting me know, I'm updating the page right now and sending it through the pipeline. Must have copy pasted to much from the dedicated page.
Excellent video! I'm relatively new to logseq and I had no idea about default-queries. It's an amazingly flexible tool and your videos are doing a great job of introducing these to us! My workflow is slightly different where I tag all incoming items with an inbox tag and I used that instead of widgets. Helps me quickly view things on my plate and classify them whenever I have a moment.
Using an inbox tag sounds like a good idea, I might need to figure out if I can build a query that just gives me all unorganized tasks that way I can just hit a TODO in there and organize later. Then again, an inbox tag is easy enough and would give way more control. Pondering on this now....
@@toolsontech I haven't found the video in which you explain your TASKS page where you have your projekts, priorities and decide what to do today. Will you make that one? Is it already there and am I not finding it? Thank you so much for your content
Hi, I set better default journal queries thanks to you. I realized that when I open the current journal page in the right panel, I don't see you're default queries anymore, but I would like to. Do you know how is it possible to do that ? Thanks, you're job is awesome !
thank you very much for this great workflow! Is it possible to only show only the main task in the query or the main task collapsed when there are subtasks?
The query should show subtasks that you can collapse as needed. As long as the subtasks are child items in the outline and the main task is still TODO/DOING
@@toolsontech thanks for the fast reply! You can collapse them, but i wanted to collapse them by default. If I collapse them and return to the journal page, they are back to default (non-collapsed)
Thanks and good question. While deadlines are great of keeping track of things that need to get done the bento are the active things on my plate. Meaning that even if I have multiple things that need to get done, I might just focus on 1 or 2 things before I worry about anything else. If you're talking about my scheduled query, these are usually small requirements and not really deadlines. Say I need to start a project on X date then the schedule is only to start a large task that I put in bento with subtasks at that date, not try and get it finished.
Thank you for the video. I understand that TODO, Scheduled, Bento, and Widget appears at the bottom. Is there a way to view the entire collection of widget, bento - each on its single page? thanks!
yes, while I talk about adding these to your config you can just make a page and just a query block to have the results in there, you make a query block with < and then search query
Yeah, the default queries only show up on the journal day, you should be able to copy the queries to individual pages if you need them there using the advanced query block. It does pull the data from the complete graph, that's one of the great things of using queries.
@@toolsontech no i meant the origin of the scheduled day was on a page rather than a journal. I get my daily overview results, but not sorted chronologically
It's all Dracula Theme right now, it's in the logseq marketplace. Planning on updating the css again with colors for tags and once that is done I will add a blog post to the website about it.
I mostly used Dracula Theme, but adding emoji's into my Query titles to make them easier to look at. These days I'm back on standard with the only exception being a purple accent color and a small css tweak to make bold look orange to highlight it even more.
For some reason, when I copy and paste your code into my config.edn file, it's asking for correct bracketing and won't read it. I'm just a beginner and can't find an error. I followed your instructions about positioning, triple checked. Nothing. I looked for syntax checkers, nothing that I found did anything. I really want to use the code, but stuck now. Any ideas please? Otherwise, great information throughout your channel and finding a lot of tips are working beautifully....just not this one. Cheers
Last week was a bit mental, wanted to get back on this much sooner. Here's my complete config pastebin.com/K4eK346n, maybe that helps. If that doesn't help, then let me know and we will do a 15 min call debug the issue.

I'm beginning to think my brain works similarly to yours. Love your content.
Then it's best brain! Glad you like it. Let's see if the match continues when I get the video on project management and prioritizing tasks done
Great video. 👏 Will definitely watch it 2nd time and try the queries.
I still use these queries daily, except for some minor tweaks to fit change in workload. Hope they help and don't be afraid to tweak them as needed.

I very enjoy your vidéos : clear, short, they're really helpful !
And you're awesome also :)
Thanks, yeah it takes some work to keep them short but it's all worth it for feedback like this. Thanks!
Insane quality bro. very nice.
Thanks, had a focus day in the edit. And can now get amazing plugins thanks to DaVinci becoming mainstream

I am very confused by this video. After I add default queries, how do I get them to show up on pages?
great video, what is the difference between your bento box and using the deadline?

Love it ! What is the theme ?
Dracula Theme, love it because it makes bold and italic different colors, making things easy to spot
Awesome video - thank you!!! Have you turned off the standard scheduled and deadline? If so - how?! Sorry this is all very new to me!!
You can add this to the config.edn (I put mine at the bottom) to disable the standard overviews.
:feature/disable-scheduled-and-deadline-query? true
scheduled query-result is still not sorted on the days for me, I did understand you wanted today on the top and most future-ones at the bottom?
Ah it sorts on journal day, where my scheduled items came from another page...

What is the blue book with the red lego brick on the cover you have in your background, called?
It's Object-Oriented Ontology: A New Theory of Everything - Mostly read it to look at how I store notes differently.
This is awesome. Also, I love your CSS for tasks that are done and tags. Can you share that?

Which theme are you using its so prettyyy, looks like emacs org mode

Have you considered changing #bento to #bb ? Much quicker to type AND in my head it means bento bas :)
Good idea, was considering this for a couple of frequent tasks, like I already did with Widget, the others are I (Inbox) B (Bento) and O (to Organize)
Great video! How about the my/tasks page? Do you still use it?
I do, that's how I plan what to put on the active feed. Realized that would be it's own video so working on the script for that now
