  • Brief review of the new Derwent Procolour colored pencils. These are a new, wax-based pencil line released by Derwent a few weeks ago. FYI, the Procolour pencils do NOT match the colors of the Inktense pencils. The Procolour pencils are very smooth, have nice coverage and a harder lead to get into fine detailed areas. Links below to where I purchased these pencils, as well as a link to a detailed review of Procolour pencils. Thanks!

Hi Laura thank you so so much for mentioning me in you review. I think your review was fantastic and you brought up excellent points. I would like to mention one thing though.
You said that you didn't feel you wanted to do an in depth review because of the review I did. I'd just like to say, I think you should go as in depth as you like, regardless of my reviews or anyone else. The reason I say that is because I only give my views and thoughts on a particular pencil, but when you and other reviewers, review, then you add another perspective. I think it is so important for people watching reviews to watch as many different reviewers such as your wonderful self and The Art Gear Guide, COLORED PENCIL Magazine and all the other awesome reviews out there, in order to get a balanced view point.
I know it can seem confusing watching loads of reviews, but I think we all offer valid points and the potential buyer can put them all together and make an informed and balanced opinion before paying out.
I think you do a wonderful job and thank you so much once again for mentioning me in your review, I really appreciate it.

Thanks Harry! I appreciate your feedback, and will definitely consider doing a more in depth review in the future. I need to check out COLORED PENCIL magazine too. :)

Nice to see you on UA-cam, Laura. Miss seeing you in the box.
These pencils look really nice, but they're out of my budget for the time being. I'll keep learning how to use my Polychromos and get myself to do some coloring. I keep getting distracted with mixed-media and art journaling projects. ;)

Hi Travis! These pencils are on the pricey side right now, so I would wait to see if they go down. I like them, but not as much as my polys, pablos or kohinoors. :) Miss you too! xoxo

Thanks so much for getting back to my tweet Laura - when I went to order them they were not on Amazon yet (they had sold out or they just weren't there yet Idk) because I had watched Harry's review on the Art Gear guide - i'm like you and have to have every pencil set (I even have duplicates because of the price is right it will save me money in the long run instead of ordering open stock I have duplicates triplicates etc. yes I am a pencil hoarder (collector 😉) as well - I do and use regularly the coloursoft- I really like them even better than my prismacolors but that's my deal - I also have that same Btsky case I bought for my birthday last year when I got my irojitens- FYI it fits 120 not 150 👍and I was looking for a case that would fit 90 so I got it and now it's in the drawer because I have Irojitens on the Robax trays (another Art gear Guide WOW find - I keep two or three sets out of my cases in on these trays so I can just grab them and mix and match my pencil sets because I have just so many that I wasn't using so the ones I was using are now at my fingertips… I bought my procolours through Blick and I just looked them up on Amazon - honestly for the $35 less I spent I can wait until August 20 when they be shipped to me and hopefully I'll have them by my birthday on 8/28 - I also watch a gal - Lachri Fine arts on UA-cam and she adores the procolours just wishes that more of them had better light fast rating since she's a professional colored pencil artist but she adores the Chinese white and says she will always have that in her kit - she will use the pencils that have the highest light fast rating in her art that is being sold as is and she will use the other pencils if she is going to make a print so there will be no possibility of fading - my colored pencil art is in color books or in a binder or framed but I'm not planning on selling it or living 100 more years so I'm not too concerned about the blue wool light fast rating on the Derwent procolour pencils and thank you for your information Laura I do like a hard lead pencil and I do love Derwent products! Actually I just got a beautiful leather case that will hold 240 pencils so I'm thinking that I'll put both my Derwent sets in that case - I love the small case I have for my Inktense because I can pull out sleeves as I'm coloring or being artistic and that's very important because I have to match them with my swatch sheet those rascally Inktense lol - I know you've been very busy but I do miss your streams and I'm glad to know that you're doing well and getting back into doing some coloring. This summer, I have been into gardening & photography more than coloring and I'm trying not to buy new color books because I have so many that need to be colored in already on my shelf ... maybe new pencils = new inspiration lol - so again thank you for your info and keep me in the loop! I will definitely let you know how I feel when I receive mine at the end of the month 🙌🏻✍🏻🙋❤️

Thanks Diana! I watch Lisa Lachri time to time, and I always watch Harry's videos (The Art Gear Guide) for info about colored pencils. I do not have the coloursoft pencils, since most of the reviews said they were very soft, and I have a problem with being heavy handed when I color. I think you will really like the Procolour pencils, so please keep me posted! :)
