I learned more about layering skincare in this video than I did in beauty school!! Love how she does everything based on the science of each product and your desired goals. Great video!!
Thank you Emily & Dr Russak for this very informative video. Sometimes, I find buying skincare a complete minefield. One thing I wanted to mention is that some people live in homes that are too dry or humid and I think this can have a detrimental effect on the skin. I recently bought a wall hygrometer (measures dry/damp in the home) & was surprised that my slightly dry home was affecting my skin! I think diet, dehydration, stress & hormones are also important factors in what your skin looks like.
I absolutely love this series!!! It’s so incredibly helpful. This video and the last one were 💯! Thank you for bringing this quality content to your channel. I love everything you produce.
Wow love this skin series your doing Emily.. I'm learning all the time did not know you could put a face mask on over serum and it could help penitrate it.. very interesting.. thanks so much for showing us these..no one wants to waste valuable products so this is fantastic to help me learn.. thanks again lovely keep safe..x
Firstly- I love your content🧚🏻♀️ Secondly- It would be nice to see what Dr. Rusack thinks about acne treatment and maybe what kind of diet is the best for the skin. Thanks
Okay so I’m still left with a question after the wet face/moisturizer segment. So it’s good to apply moisturizer onto damp skin to lock in the moisture, but that’s a barrier so where do serums come in? I know earlier she said serums to cleansed skin and then moisturizer, but the skin would have to be dried (I guess this is tricky because it depends on the what the serum contains). For example, if the serum has AHA/BHA, the skin must be completely dry or else it’ll penetrate too deeply, however this can be applied after moisturizer has dried (according to Dr. Dray). Also, retinA should be applied to dry skin, not after moisturizer.. this layering topic is so complicated 🥵
Hi Emily! Could you ask for hyperpigmentation care tips and about using natural ingredients like shea butter on the skin please, that would be very nice. Thank you and Happy New Year! :)
Hi Emily! Thank you for another video :) What does she think about using the biosilk therapy with pure coconut oil on face? Also what are the most common ingredients in skin products that could cause allergic reactions to sensitive skin? Most skincare products I buy cause little white bumps and I’ve always wondered what could be the cause? lol Take care!!
so helpful, thank you!! can she tell us how we know what brands are good for our skin or not? Like can I buy the CeraVe retinol or should I buy the Skin Ceuticals one?
Really great information there a lot to think about can be quite complex but wished I'd turned down my soundbar on the big tv from my meditation I was like oo Emily's on it was so loud it almost blew out the downstairs windows ha ha my bad. Lol hope your good just watching the news and America has gone bananas sending ❤❤
Wow, so much great information! I have a question regarding quantity of uses - how often acid aha coctail and how often retinol for 28 years old with quite delicate skin?
How can we measure the correct ph of each product? Is there a number in total of ph we should calculate of all products that we use every day? I hope my question makes sense 😊
If you want to know, I watch dr Dray. For my skin, less is more. A few cosmetics for my whole body is enough. Use lukewarm water, pat dry and firmly massage your cosmetics in as dr Bunting recommends. It won't soak in if you just barely touch your skin. Have a nice day
Keep using alpha arbutin, I like the one from Naturium. I use arbutin and tranaxemic acid both from Naturium together one after the other and I have seen results but you gotta be patient Also you have to add retinol and azaleic acid if tolerated on off days. Hope it helps !
Vitamin C is always helpful, but remember, none of these treatments will mean anything if you're not wearing 50+ sunscreen!!! The sunlight definitely darkens hyperpigmentation, so apply, reapply, reapply.
Question, I don’t use glycolic acid same day as a retinol, but how far apart should they be used? Or should we only be using one or the other. I love a glycolic for that straight away glow for date night and so forth. Great video, ty both!
Depends on how your skin is acclimated to the exfoliating, is it sensitive or can it tolerate a lot of exfoliating products within one week? If it’s sensitive, like me, I use tretinoin once MAYBE twice a week and that’s it.
Water and oil do not mix very well. They're immiscible. Milk only forms an emulsion because the fat is in small globules (milk fat globules), which are soluble only because of proteins which are embedded in the surface of the milk fat globules.
And in addition to this, when you buy milk at the store and it seems nice and smooth, this is because it is 'homogenised', where the milk fat globules are forced through a pinhole to make them smaller. Straight out of the cow, the milk fat globules are still quite large, and so will float to the top of the surface, and so will not be completely smooth.
I'm loving these series, it's being so helpful and interesting!
I’m so glad !!!!

So many good questions about skincare we rarely focus on (like time in between products, mixing formulas, water evaporation...)

Hi Emily could you ask more about skincare no-no's? Or even debunking current skincare trends?

This type of video is great! I really found the one that stated running or very rigorous exercise may deplete the skin of proteins

Could you give examples of good layering with the more difficult ingredients like retinols?
I'm always so scared to layer it with anything else.
Thank you so much Emily, i learned a lot through your skincare videos!! Greetings from Chile :)
Hi Emily! Could you ask for hyperpigmentation care tips and about using natural ingredients like shea butter on the skin please, that would be very nice. Thank you and Happy New Year! :)
Vitamin c serum worked for my hyperpigmentation. And always wear sunscreen!
So interesting and helpful thank you!!!! Please more skincare videos !
I am almost sure Dr. Julie is Russian. I can tell she has a slavic accent in English 😀

Very good advices thank you :)
That’s so helpful thank you
Could you speak about tretinoin? What to be aware of, when and how to implement it etc.?😊
It ought to be applied on dry skin. I was surprised the dermatologist didn't mention it.
Just subscribe to you Emily. You always ask the questions that I wish I could ask...so thanks!
Excellent Emily! 💕
Ahhhh now I can get even the last bit under control!
Really love watching your videos! (-:

Retinol can be very irritating. Be careful if you have sensitive skin.
What kind of facial products are safe during pregnancy? Especially for hormonal breakouts. Thank you! ✨
Rocked this look
Hello from Brazil!! ❤️
@emilydidonato can you please make a hair Tutorial about these big waves you’re wearing here ? 😍

Omfg I had NO IDEA you were supposed to moisturize with WET SKIN 🤯 where have I been
It’s a GAME changer!! I have oily but dehydrated skin, I’m telling you after adopting the moisturize damp skin method my skin is much happier!
i use a prescription retinol should i put in dry skin with no other products before hand?
Love u ❤
Hi Emily, I love your Doctor! Could you address PDO threads for sagging skin and plasma sculpt. Thank you!
Please ask about dermatitis
How often should I do lactic acid and tretinoin throughout the week? I’m assuming I shouldn’t use them together?
So a question where should vitamin c go? should that be applied on wet skin?
If you want to know, I watch dr Dray. For my skin, less is more. A few cosmetics for my whole body is enough. Use lukewarm water, pat dry and firmly massage your cosmetics in as dr Bunting recommends. It won't soak in if you just barely touch your skin.

2:29 I agree with Julie
Guys I need advices for hyperpigmentation post acne! I’m currently using the alpha arbutin from the ordinary but I would like to try something else!

Azelaic acid helped my skin a ton!! I like the one from Naturium and from Paulas Choice.

What about the toner? 😅
I like it

Are you a model or something? 😍
💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
This is strange because I heard that you should apply oils to your skin while it's wet so it absorbs better
I also heard that! I’m confused now 🤔
😍😍😍😍
Im firstttt🥰🥰
🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
notice me 🤚
Hello Emily, I'm Anny. I'm back
This is confusing. She could give examples of what to do for each step of some common routines perhaps to make it clearer 🤷
Are you pregnant? Just asking 🤗
You are glowing 💖
no.
@@EmilyDiDonato You are beautiful 😍😍😍
