Oh my goodness. Why this video didn't pop up 3 months ago. I can not believe it was this easy to fix my shifting problem. I have dropped my pan 2 times flushed the fluid 3 times. Change those high dollar parts in the trans. I was even told I needed to have it rebuilt. Shaking my head. Thank you so much for the time you spent posting this video. I wish y'all could change the # tags so it's easier to find yalls videos. Thanks again. I really wish y'all knew the stress I had over my truck and as a single parent 2k for a trans is a lot of money. Much love and I hope GOD blesses y'all!
With your arm in the way of the camera we couldn't see how the clip comes off! Oh and after readjusting this cable on the throttle end so many times and not coming up with the proper setting I slid under the truck and found that the cable return spring wasn't doing it's job correctly and had to re position it with more tension. Yes it does make the throttle some what harder to push but at least he shifts sooooo much better now! Yea I know my transmission is in need of a rebuild soon but I will do it myself this summer. Jack of all trades and yes a professional at all of them because I push myself to learn everything!
I have 96 dodge ram 1500. It doesn't have the kick to it and don't have enough power. Does that relation to throttle cable adjustment like loose or tight?
Jasper engines are junk in my opinion. I run a shop in utah and have been using jasper for years. Until the last three had bad gaskets. Two Headgaskets, and intake
Because you worked on a few engines that had failures don’t mean all are terrible ... I’ve worked on countless number of engines . The most failed engines I’ve seen are the 3.4 and 3.8 Chevrolet engines are way worse don’t make them all junk lol

where is the cable return spring exactly?
@@charlescarroll7432down on the transmission on the driver side.
Hey there I have a 2005 dodge Dakota 4.7 and the throttle linkage is loose how do I tighten it I can’t find adjustment point
What direction does what for shifting.? Like what does tightening it do to the shifts and what does loosening it do to the shifts
Puts the RPMS where they need to be for proper shifting
So how about for the acceleration cable? Mines seem like its stuck and rev up to 3000 rpm, how do you adjust that cable?
Hello friend I have a Dodge ram year 2001 5.2 5.2 engine my question is that the reverse does not work for me please
Try adjusting the reverse band. UA-cam 46re reverse band adjustment
So if the cable is tighter will it shift sooner? Or opposite? I’m shifting to second at 2600 rpm want to shift sooner. So should I tighten the cable
too tight will delay shift to soft will slip
That was a good video straight to the point good job!
I think the word you're searching for is slide it until it's flushed with the front end of the mountain bracket
which way am I suppose to adjust it?

Thanks,

actually its easly removed with just the fingers.
Does this tighten my throttle cable?
No. I think the only way to do that is at the accelerator pedal by turning that spline key the pedal pivots on
Jasper Engines & Transmissions
No joke this guy should see a doctor . His hands shouldn't shake like that at that age. Early Parkinsons.
Mark Rich maybe he had a good cup of coffee ...
Man you made that clip look hard, lol. Good vid though
Buddys just shaky
Get him to a doctor. Shakey hands.

Shaky ass hands lmfao
they got this man at gunpoint to adjust a throttle cable
He's been trying to kick the habit for weeks but eating lubriplate for lunch is just too irresistible.
I noticed that too. Those clips are notorious for breaking though so props to him for keeping it intact
Didn't see I fucking thing you did
Looks like he has Parkinson's
James Poole that’s rude to say .
