True story. I graduated in ‘09 enlisted into the Marine Corps Infantry, served came home, and saw most of the popular girls were either single parents or had gotten married young and popped out like 4 kids, the nerds were off away in college or else were managers of some of the businesses in town, the ones who weren’t quite nerds, were more on the popular side but extremely intelligent (I’m pretty sure every high school has at least five of those each generation) were all chasing their lofty goals... Me? I attempted to do college and figured out the normal degree pathway just isn’t for me. Now I’m doin security now for $15 an hour while I wait for this Trade School to open up some room so I can get my certification, and start working my way down the path of opening my own shop, in which I’ve already got a number of goals set for it, I have a vision for this path that’s so clear, I’ve accounted for so much to go wrong that I really don’t intend to fail. And even still I’m still thinking there’s more that will likely go wrong that I haven’t considered yet. Point is life ain’t easy, in school some people think they’ll cruise through life and have no problems, they couldn’t be more wrong. Others had their eyes opened already to how much life can suck, others had plans, but plans change, people change, and most importantly karma gets most the ones who were assholes back then. Just don’t for a second fall prey to depression and take an early exit out. Remember life may fuck you using chalk dust as lube over a sandpaper condom, but for every shitty day, every moment where you hate where you’re at, there’s always an equally good moment coming your way. Some moment that’ll make it all worth while. Just hang in there an see where life will take you.
Jacked Pump I mean the drama with the girls who now have 4 baby daddies or the guys who still have no career living with mommy at 40. (Yes, I know of such a guy!). It's wasn't too hard to see where they would end up. They didn't care much for themselves much less other people. ;) I still have really good friends from school. A handful of friends go back to 2nd grade! :)
That’s probably true, but, my goodness, does it suck while you’re in. I graduate Winter 2022 and I cannot wait to leave my school, my city, and my state (Arizona) behind and move to South Carolina and go to the Citadel in Charleston. I can’t stand it here.
patriot man 24 Consider your options about ROTC in college also. The military needs good leaders too. Best decisions I ever made was being a college grad and a soldier. MANY doors open if you have that on your resume
Mr. Calhoun I just wanted to acknowledge that the video/song "SOLUTE THE BRAVE" that you and Hosier did is absolutely BAD ASS!!! You and Hosier should be very proud to have created such an electrifying masterpiece that makes even the soul feel America flowing through them. God bless you brother.
Right on Adam! I am living proof of the awkward nerd who ended up with with hot wife, and everything going for them. First thing I had to do was get through High School, on to college, into the Army, back to college, and life is GREAT!! People that say that "High school is the greatest and most important time of your life", don't have a clue, mostly because their life ENDS after high school.
PrAKtikal Nurse absolutely, I can confirm that too... But that is mostly because I have changed so much as a person, I am just not the same person anymore.
I HATED high school with a passion. The bullies weren't physical they would just giggle, gossip, spread rumours, exclude or pretend to be your friend and back stab you (Yes I am talking about the guys here)
hahaha lmao im in high school and many people talk shit behind my back and i dont give a fuck. I tell them what i want to say directly. Tbh my fix to my problems in high school was to get buff by lifting weights and now girls dig me, people respect me and i found my passion
Mr. Calhoun I just wanted to acknowledge that the video/song " SOLUTE THE BRAVE" that you and Hosier did is absolutely BAD ASS. until now I have never heard a song that could physically make one feel America flowing through them. It was beyond electrifying and I just wish I had it on cd to play in my jeep and truck. "SOLUTE THE BRAVE " is truly one to CRANK IT UP and feel the power of the AMERICAN SPIRIT! Great job brothers!
I'm 20 years old but i was so happy when i graduated high school 2 years ago I'm the first in my family to do so and I'm living my best life now i moved away from all that drama, I'm marrying my high school sweetheart next year and we got 2 wonderful baby boys together life just keeps getting better
High school was such a joke... I beat up 1 douche and suddenly the cool kids wanted to be my friends and I was considered popular, it really wasn't any different because people still tried to mess with me ... any one in high school reading this after watching the vid, all of what is said here to truth
i agree lmao you fight someone and boom you are popular. There are so many negative people so im like fuck you to yall and i hang out with my buddies from all grades , seniors, juniors and i m having a lot of fun but the main thing is getting good grades and studying. I also lift heavy weights a lot and the negative people in my grade tell me thats not athletic and shit like that but idgaf and keep doing my shit
my grade is so big compared to every other grade in the school that we have no popular kids the closest to popular you can get is being somewhat well known
I needed this, man. Thank you. I'm 18 and a senior in high school. I make language videos on the internet. Definitely not sitting at the popular kids' table.
12 years after highschool; The hot chick of my highschool moved to LA, runs her own business, owns an art gallery, looks better than she did in highschool, no kids and no marriage. Her boyfriend is a surfing Viking. The only stars of our football team that I know of didn't go far. One became a drunk. Another one became a local cop, and arrested the drunk multiple times. The last one visits the bar a lot! One day he just happened to come to the bar I went to. He said he is working in a warehouse. Might have a drinking problem. And wanted to know if I was interested in him. What a mess.
Adam you've been funny af since you started... I love coming across your old vids man. Shows me how humble you truly have stayed. You have great character my friend
I gotta say Adam, your doing a service to these kids. Today they are depressed, trouble with anxiety, stressed, there on drugs, and have 8 different emotions at the same time. They needed to hear this.
I wasn't the most popular nor was i a nobody. I had a hard time through school. Doing what you said Adam just be me by the time I graduated I thought I was a nobody. But I did some soul searching and viewed where I was then. I realized I was one of the most popular kid in school. I may still live with my parents, but now 6 years after I graduated I'm more connected to my high school friends and keep in the know of most of them. The best part of going through school I wasn't a goody to shoes person. Nor a rebal. Per year I had 4 detentions and fought in school. I might have a disability but I'm living the best of life right now. You ROCK ADAM
I was friends with a nerd in first grade and I looked out for him until he went to college and I went to the army and now he is very well off and has a very nice gun collection
k calhoun kind of the funny thing is he turned out having a hell of a growth spurt and is a bit bigger now but still friends after 36 years and still isn't anything I wouldn't do if he called me.
totally agree. i've seen the ascendant nerds and the rock bottom "cool kids" first hand. the only things that matters in high school are learning how to prioritize your relationships and your studies. they both matter, but most of the people you meet in high school, you will never see again. your studies can set the tone for the rest of your life. the most painful lessons are often the most important. only learn them once.
I was considered popular in high school we mostly just talked shit to each other laughed at kids and threw shit across the cafeteria as fast as we could because we were dickheads (At the lunch table)
True. I used to be the social outcast metal head who had no friends or potential. Now I'm one of the people I know who has a clear goal in life and has already partially achieved it. Out of all the friends I did have only two of us are actual being successful. I am in college studying to become an author and am already published, and my best friend is a medic in the US army. All of my other friends, whom were always more responsible than us in hs, are either getting married and pregnant (we graduated two years ago) or living with their parents and their bf because he got kicked out of his house.
The only thing I need help about high school is how to fucking do geometry. Honestly I don't even care about popular or unpopular. My friends are just my friends. People act like you're supposed to be finding yourself and figuring out who you are, but I already know who I am. I'm a white Christian conservative republican who likes classic rock and The Walking Dead and Supernatural
I'm really lucky for having been in a high school (and still am, though it's my last year) where all of the "popular" kids are popular because they're good people. They deserve it. They're outgoing, helpful, and supportive of just about everyone everywhere. We have a thing every year where the student body sits in display cases for 48 hours to raise money for charity or, like this year, make a wish. As they raise more money, the people in the display cases get "punishments" like removing blankets and pillows or, as one of the higher tiers, shaving their heads. And some kids have done it all four years of high school! One of the guys in there has grown out his hair and is shaving it during this to give to charity.
All that about high, f***en on point. Still going through that shit and it is hard. Thanks for the advice mate, I'll be sure to keep it in my mind. Thanks Adam
My freshman year of highschool was an absolute nightmare in every way that I wish to forget, til now it was by far the worst year of school I had in my LIFE. I actually thought it wasn't gonna be as bad as middle school which was another nightmare, but little did my poor soul know what was awaiting
Well said sir. Been saying the same thing myself for years. Apart from you put it better. Especially the bit about the hot chicks getting not so hot in many, many cases
Never seen anyone speak so many truths. You’re an inspiration Mr. Calhoun, brutal honesty and truth is what our generation needs to take a first step towards getting back on track. Keep it up
Very true buddy!! All the cool guy in high school turned out to be losers and weak human beings. I'm from italy and I never graduated high school. I left school when I was 16 and I started working. I was living by myself at 17. Back then I was drunk every week-end, smoking pot every day and trying every kind of drugs out there. Then when I was 19 I joined a mma gym I quit everything and I put all my energy and the rage into fighting. Now I'm 26 and I live in Brazi, I'm married with the love of my life and I teach Italian and English. All the "old friends" are stuck in the same shitty lifestyle and they think they re cool. GUYS ALWAYS FIGHT BACK AND STAY OUT OF THE CROWD. YOU WILL FIND YOUR PATH AND YOUR PURPOSE. PEACE ✌
I was a gearhead that graduated in 82. Had a girlfriend and a 73 dodge Charger. Besides getting grades my main worry was my car. It was a fun time, but the real fun came when I got on my own and had a family. That's the best times there.
Adam, TRUTH - Most of the people I knew in High School (Class Of 1977) turned out just as you said: Most of the popular girls got pregnant before graduating and the popular guys who did the dirty deed got stuck being "Weekend Dads" because IF they got married, it didn't last long. Three of the 'nerdy' guys became millionaires or CEO's (The rest probably did OK as well) Two not very popular girls got 'Smokin' HOT!!! and landed great guys (One a very good-looking real estate agent and the other an eye doctor - BOTH make great money) Sadly, two of the popular guys got killed in a car wreck because of a drunk diver, one was a pretty nice guy who stuck up for the less popular kids like me. I was a loner - Mr 'Invisible'.........or so I thought, until years later when people from High School would recognize me on the street and say 'Hello' I was Amazed at how many people knew me and thought I was an OK guy, just a little shy (I was) And said they thought I was pretty cool for just being myself and not just following the crowd - was I blown away!!
Amen to that man! Ive seen it just in the last few years. I was never the popular kid, not because I couldnt be, but because I chose not to be. Life goes on, and at the end of the day, it doesnt matter how many friends you have or if you dated the hot chicks. Its about the person you become and the future you make! Great video Adam
I remember watching this going into my freshman year of hs, and I’m now I’m getting ready to get into my senior year and god damn everything this guy says is 100% facts
Let me also give you young people some advice: don't limit yourself. I was in the dork group, the alcoholics group, the troublemakers group, the rock group, the rap group, the mountaineering group, all of them (not the rich group unfortunately). People are basically the same, they want to have fun, they want to share experiences, they all have something to offer.
That is so true! I was a dorky kid in hs and never fit in, was tall and skinny and no girl would look at me... I thought life was over. But now I am good looking, I work out, have a good job, drive a n8ce car and am in a serious relationship with a pretty hot girl :) but again if I only knew back then what I know now
Never had a huge group of friends growing up. I was usually the one getting picked out as the weirdo. Fought my bullies, graduated early, and after I returned home after 5 years I look at all my old classmates either drunks, unhealthy, knocked up, or in jail. Getting out of my area and traveling the world with work was the best thing that ever happened. High school.... pay attention in each class, learn the most you can, earn that dough, and take a financial Ed class (THIS IS MANDATORY!!)
My kid d is going into highschool this year and I gotta show her this. Thank u Adam for helping me help my kid get over the anxiety about highschoo.l appreciate it man 👊🇺🇸
Went through 8 years of bullying and constant fights. I keep having to build my name up so people will stop messing with my shit. People talk shit but all I can say is if people are talking shit they're scared of you. Don't worry about being popular just be you and you'll never go wrong
This is so true... All the popular girls that made fun of me are fat and divorced and miserable and the popular guys have hit on me so much since and are just like you said, living at home broke and bald. And I'm just over here 35 and still getting IDd for smokes. KARMA IS REAL
my mom and dad broke up for a while before they were even married or had kids, my mom started dating an abusive person (physical and emotional) she broke up with them, married my dad at 18 and had a kid at 18 then had one 2 years later and me another 2 years, my mom and dad worked there asses off, waking up at 4:00 in the morning working there asses off to this day in something they don't enjoy at all but here's what they say "atleast we're sleeping in beds, not living on the streets, eating food, and have a loving bond" i live with the most hardworking family in the world and i wouldn't trade it for anything.
It’s been over 15 years since I graduated and it’s amazing how the walls come down. Some of my best friends from high school - we’ve barely seen each other or spoken since graduating (cell phones weren’t ubiquitous like they are now) and some of my closest friends now are people that I never would’ve associated with (or wouldn’t have associated with me).
Best thing you can do is get beefed up. Make it clear no one can see you as easy prey. If someone is in your way, you make sure your strong enough to move them.
I'm in grade 8 (which is high school in my country) and I realised that high school isn't important. Yeah, it's important to get good grades but nobody is going to care who was popular in high school once we're adults. High school isn't about being popular, it's about preparing for life and that mentality has helped me not give a shit about the petty stuff.
I just had a similar conversation about high school chicks with my wife...the popular hot ones all turn into Tonka trucks and the quite shy not so popular ones turn into Diamonds in the rough. lmfao
the only thing I like about high school is graduation because I don't like high school culture and plus, I just want to get out of there and graduation was my golden ticket.
4 kids from 6 different guys
so true
I was thinking that myself
MooMooChkn math; something else I sucked at in HS 😂😂😂😂
I literally died when he said that

Cody Ralston underrated comment. It is just so true from what you are saying.
I wish you the best of luck in your shop, and what is your shops name?
Ha, depression since first grade that gets worse with age but not without reason.
Preach!
So true man, with every shitty day comes a better day in return..
more like for every shitty day comes a shitty day in return
High school is a blip on the radar of life. Soooooo much drama for nothing. Lol

I have two regrets about joining the Army:
I didn't enlist sooner
I couldn't stay in longer
Go get 'em! And never quit

In Canada I almost got arrested for fighting a bully...
Damn
me too bro
Schools don’t understand what standing up for yourself means
Probably because you dusted a dickhead with power's kid.
Really I kicked a bully's ass in the boys locker room and all I got was a detention
And had to change in the equipment room
Thanks A.C. for giving the kids getting picked on advise to stand up for yourself, a moment of courage can be all they might need. Your the man bro

Life goes on, and at the end of the day, it doesnt matter how many friends you have or if you dated the hot chicks. Its about the person you become and the future you make! Great video Adam
the beat advice I have as a senior is "screw you guys, I'm going home" if people try to judge you for who you are ignored them they will gave karma
Just graduated last June and this is true damn man
I remember watching this going into my freshman year of hs, and I’m now I’m getting ready to get into my senior year and god damn everything this guy says is 100% facts
I got bullied almost to the point of suicide in school you and upchurch helped me thru it and I'm now makin my way thru life thanks adam
This dude it’s so fucken real every parent should be like him
That is so true! I was a dorky kid in hs and never fit in, was tall and skinny and no girl would look at me... I thought life was over. But now I am good looking, I work out, have a good job, drive a n8ce car and am in a serious relationship with a pretty hot girl :) but again if I only knew back then what I know now
Good message Adam! Your son is lucky to have a dad like you
I will America this Saturday
Scott Poole i forgot to America damn it i was trying to get some gains
You gonna go America all over everyone's ass?
america everyday
Never had a huge group of friends growing up. I was usually the one getting picked out as the weirdo. Fought my bullies, graduated early, and after I returned home after 5 years I look at all my old classmates either drunks, unhealthy, knocked up, or in jail. Getting out of my area and traveling the world with work was the best thing that ever happened. High school.... pay attention in each class, learn the most you can, earn that dough, and take a financial Ed class (THIS IS MANDATORY!!)
My kid d is going into highschool this year and I gotta show her this. Thank u Adam for helping me help my kid get over the anxiety about highschoo.l appreciate it man 👊🇺🇸
Adam Calhoun is so savage in this video ! Truth ! !
After recess Ended, school became wayyyyyyy worse it seemed
I am currently in high school as a Sophomore and honestly this really helped me
4 different kids from 6 different guys nailed it for me !
That is some damn good advice brother, did I spell damn rite... ? :-)
Yes, but you spelt 'right' wrong LOL!!!!
Adam Calhoun I just listened to your song salute the brave you made with Hosier holy shit it's awesome
Thanks for this Adam. I’m going to show it to my son who will be starting high school this coming fall. ❤️✌🏻
This what I always taught my kids. Funny how life works!
Very True
Not at my school. The seniors are on top of the list. Small town American. Class of 2019!!
Good guy.
Went through 8 years of bullying and constant fights. I keep having to build my name up so people will stop messing with my shit. People talk shit but all I can say is if people are talking shit they're scared of you. Don't worry about being popular just be you and you'll never go wrong
Bad ass coffee cup!!! Were can I find one of those??? Plz let me no and dam this man is telling the dam truth and god bless U and AMERICA
I been bullied
He is 100 percent correct!I know the most popular kid in my highschool is now 40 and lives with his parents 😂🤣
So true
Badass sir, nail on the head. Thank you!
Do a liberal high school.
"4 different kids from 6 different men"😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is so true... All the popular girls that made fun of me are fat and divorced and miserable and the popular guys have hit on me so much since and are just like you said, living at home broke and bald. And I'm just over here 35 and still getting IDd for smokes. KARMA IS REAL
Special thanks man. I probably can still apply that logic to middle school
100% right !! Bullies build character, and survival techniques !!!
Four different kinds,by six different men.And on Maury trying to figure that shit out.😄
Best advice ever, my daughter was getting messed with, I told her the next time this girl touches her... don’t say a word, break her nose.
High School can be really fun, but you're absolutely right, High School definitely should not be the best years of your life.
In highschool the pot heads are the cool ones these days
Always enjoy your videos. Keep it up 💪🏼
This dude is better than the counselor encouragement videos
my mom and dad broke up for a while before they were even married or had kids, my mom started dating an abusive person (physical and emotional) she broke up with them, married my dad at 18 and had a kid at 18 then had one 2 years later and me another 2 years, my mom and dad worked there asses off, waking up at 4:00 in the morning working there asses off to this day in something they don't enjoy at all but here's what they say "atleast we're sleeping in beds, not living on the streets, eating food, and have a loving bond" i live with the most hardworking family in the world and i wouldn't trade it for anything.
Adam, you are so damn funny man. 🤣🤣🤣.
If only people in highschool still listened to Foo Fighters 😂
All schools should make children watch this video! They just dont comprehend it will all be ok after high school.
I love Adam he's hilarious...you want to laugh watch his shit...OMG he's funny
When my brother graduated high school his life changed forever and he join the Marine Corps, he didn't look anything like someone joining the military
Whew when i graduated from high school I left and never looked back.
I'm not in highschool but I support everything u said and I believe it.
truer words never spoken.!!! right on.!,. 🤘🇱🇷💪😎
Best thing you can do is get beefed up. Make it clear no one can see you as easy prey. If someone is in your way, you make sure your strong enough to move them.
you are so real! I love you're videos.
Ive been watching alot of ur videos and u make alot of sence
I miss elementary school, that shit was great.
I just had a similar conversation about high school chicks with my wife...the popular hot ones all turn into Tonka trucks and the quite shy not so popular ones turn into Diamonds in the rough. lmfao
I like how he states the social hierarchy of public schools
Thank you man those are the words I needed to hear
I’m 14
I’ll be in high school this fall when this year is over
I kindve can’t wait
I kindve want to stay in middle school
I’m a freshman and this is the only actual good advice I’ve gotten. I can’t wait until someone pushes me.
the only thing I like about high school is graduation because I don't like high school culture and plus, I just want to get out of there and graduation was my golden ticket.
