Hi there! I am Joseph.
I have been an immigrant / expat living in central Portugal along with my beautiful partner Mariana for nine years now.
Together Mariana and I, would like to show you a bit of the daily goings on around our Portuguese farm / homestead / smallholding and all of the work we are doing whilst renovating, starting building projects, working with our livestock, DIY and trying to grow our little families own food!

Thanks for sharing and showing us, especially us in the U.K. how dark and dismal our lives in the U.K.really are when compared to the lives you have in Portugal.
The relaxed atmosphere to life in general is so clear to see.
Old people looking healthier and happier than the older people who live in a over populated country and a much colder climate.
I have made the decision to purchase a property, even if it's only a nice piece of derelict land and bread goats for both meat and milking and I'm going to take the chance.
Your videos or short well edited films have been very educational and without accidentally watching a "short " you had slipped into something that I was searching for I wouldn't have had any idea of how much more was OUT there to enjoy, experience, and discover.

I might not make it, but when I go to heaven, if I do, it will be Portugal! (at least that will definitely be part of my heaven, and I will meet people just like you, your family and friends, and all will be fabulous! Hi Joseph, another great video. How likely is it to get the all important habitation licence on a ruin in and around this area? Is it a case or fully restoring a building before applying to the local council for the habitation status?
Application for pre 1951 status can be done prior to purchase and will allow for both buildings to be reconstructed and lived in

If I buy something in Portugal, it would be to go off-grid and not be found lol. But I guess by owning land they find you anyhow.

Buying process will be extremely quick as everything is ready. One of the men that we had dinner with at the end of the film is the guy we would suggest for land clearing :D

Looks like there's numerous tracks through the land. Are these all belonging to the land ? Is there any public access through the land or is it completely private?
Hello there, they are tractor tracks, to access each of the terraces. They are owned by the land, no public right of way :)
